  1. Horrible

This place has got to be the worst. I moved over a year and a half ago, and still have not gotten any satisfaction. Numerous boxes were crushed, items broken, and thousands of dollars of missing items. They also ruined walls in my home trying to move things in, and simply left things in the garage that they decided they did not want to move. The most ridiculous, lazy people I have ever encountered. When I asked one of the movers about a missing hand truck/dolly, he replied "was it green?", to which I said yes, and he replied "nope, never saw it!".....WHAT????? You just told me its' proper color. If I could give a negative star review, I would. I have made hundreds of calls to this place, and sent all of the appropriate claim information in to where they told me to, and have not heard one word. Absolutely disgusted.

  2. Liars and Thieves - Do not give your belongings to A Plus

Sign contract with Alliance Van Lines. On June 24th A Plus Van Lines arrived to pick up my items and told me they were contracted by Alliance although that was the first I heard of it. They didn't arrive to pick up my belongings until 11pm, when the latest time I could be out of the apartment was 5pm. The people who picked up my stuff where rolling my boxes down the stairs, as well as trying to shove my bedframe through the door when it was covered in my contract that they were supposed to take it apart. They guy then charged me an additional $500 for fees of issues that were already covered when I set up the contract with Alliance. Since it was then 12:30am I told him I didn't have any money except that half I was told to have for them. The guy then refused to leave until we gave him a tip. Since we didn't have any more cash, he made us download a cash app and pay him through there. I was then told my items were being taken to a warehouse, which was not told to me when signing the contract. Items were supposed to be delivered in Florida on June 28th. Emailed and called Alliance Van Lines and never heard from them again. Constant communication with A Plus lead to them telling me my items would be packed every couple of days until July 26th when my items were finally packed on a truck. Our contract was only until July 23rd, so now it is broken at this point. I was told it would take 7-9 days to arrive. On Aug 9th I was told the truck broke down in South Carolina and they were sending a second truck. Second truck was loaded Aug 17th. I was told the truck was in Florida on Aug 23rd, had to stop in Lakeland, Tampa, and then to me. I am being refused the information of the names of my drivers and movers (even the ones back in NJ), as well as the name of the manager, and they will not provide the information of the timeline of my items as they were with them. Everyday they say the item will be there the following day and there is no actual delivery date in sight. I have spoken to Jennifer Davis, Liz Rodriguez, Chris Winn (Wynn?) and Clare only. On Aug 27th I was told by Chris and Jennifer that my belongings were going to be Monday, Aug 30th between 10am and 2pm. I never received the 24 hour notice phone call on Sunday, Aug 29th so when I called on Monday to confirm I should take off from work (Because someone had to be home for the movers) Liz and Clare assured me that the mover would be there between 10am and 2pm. At 3:30pm I had already called 4 times, trying to figure out if the guy was even coming since I was stuck home all day. At 4pm they told me the guy was not coming, and that maybe he would be there on Sept 1st. Chris Winn (Wynn) proceed to tell me I was harnessing them, got super nasty when I tried to explain that I had just lost $226 having to take off from work and just hung up on me while in the middle of speaking.

It's now September 6th and there is no end of this in sight. I have been sleeping on a couch and living with the clothes I shoved in a duffle bag. If you want to ever see your items again, do not give them to A Plus Van Lines.

  3. Stolen items super long wait time and holding items hostage

We used this company for are move to fl. First off the price that was Quoted was completely changed when they came first lie. Second when they finally got are stuff they quoted 3-7 business days again another lie. It needed up being over a month. 3rd they refused to take a phone call from us and blocked are numbers we had to get local police involved to just get a answer on we’re are stuff was. Finally a after a long battle with these guys and are stuff finally made it we found out they stole well over 3k worth of stuff so far that we can find. Still looking into what else was stolen by these thieves. Do not use them for anything stay far away. And to top it off they asked me multiple times for a 300 dollar tip before they even dropped off are stuff. Terrible company bunch of thieves.

  4. Stay way! A-Plus gets an F!

A-Plus was used from Alliance Van Lines to move my house hold goods from NJ to Florida. It was a disaster from the moment A-Plus came to pick up my shipment. The pickup date was set for May 26-27, with a delivery no earlier than June 22, 2021. I was quoted a total of $1,770.76 for items that were in a storage unit and pictures were sent of the items to be shipped. The bill from A-Plus was $3,107.04, 75% higher than the estimate provided. This increase was only revealed after the shipment was on the moving truck and there would be a hefty fee to return the boxes to the storage unit.

My home was under construction and had two unexpected closing delays, which changed the delivery dates twice. The final delivery date was no earlier than July 22. I was willing to pay additional storage fees, if necessary, but A-Plus stated there would not be any. On July 16 at 1:56PM an A-Plus dispatch called to tell me that my house-hold delivery was on the way. When I asked if the delivery would not be delivered no earlier than July 22, dispatch told me, “Yes, no problem.” On July 19 at 3:23PM, the driver called me to tell me that my shipment would be delivered the next day. I explained that I had a deliver no earlier than July 22, but I could take it on July 21 if it was after 1pm (my closing was at 10pm). At 3:44PM an A-Plus Dispatcher called me and told me that if I do not accept the delivery on July 19, there would be a $450 re-delivery fee, possible storage fees, and my household shipment would be returned to their NJ warehouse and would be shipped when than have a truck with available room. When I asked how long would that be, the dispatcher stated that she does not know, but made a reference that it could be some time with how busy they are. I explained that I had a no-earlier-than date of July 22. The dispatcher acknowledge that a no-earlier date of July 22 was in the notes, but than told me that on July 16 the dispatcher told me that the shipment would be there in 2-5 business days. I explained to her that was not stated, and that I specifically asked about the July 22 date and it was confirmed. The dispatcher stated it was in her notes and that it was explained to me. So, I asked to speak to Jennifer, the dispatcher that we had been working with regularly, to see what the options were. The dispatcher stated she would get Jennifer on the line and call me back. At 3:58pm the dispatcher stated that she was patching Jennifer into the call and put us on hold. Several minutes later the dispatcher returned and stated that Jennifer had gone home for the day and that we had to make a decision. With it being at the end of the business day and were where staying 3-hours from the home we were buying; we were in very difficult spot. I told the dispatcher that it is the end of the business day and that I would need time to make arrangements. The dispatcher stated that she was canceling my delivery and that I could call Jenifer in the morning to try to make arrangements for redelivery and fees. This dispatcher was rude and threatening. I also called Alliance to explain what was going on. The Alliance agent read the notes from A-Plus and saw that we had a deliver no-earlier than July 22, but also saw the July 16 note of delivery between 2-5 business days. I explained that 2-5 business days was not stated to me, but rather I confirmed July 22. The Alliance agent stated, “it is your word against theirs, and I can’t get involved in that.” She also stated that there was nothing they can do. My wife and I, from our hotel room, began looking for a storage unit in the area from our phones, and making phone call. At 4:28PM we secured a storage unit and called tried to call the A-Plus dispatcher back. We were not able to get through; there was no answer. So, I called the driver and explained that we rented a storage unit and would be available to accept delivery.

On July 20, the driver did not arrive until 7:40PM. The diver explained that he got called in a day early because he had to pick up a return delivery in Jacksonville on July 21. There were three missing items. Delivery with inventorying the boxes took an hour. The driver stated that an A-Plus dispatcher would call me soon about the missing items. On August 3, two weeks later, still no calls from A-Plus. I called and was provided a claim form.

I called Alliance Van Lines to complain about the entire experience. The response: “There is nothing at dispatch we can do for you,” and “There is nothing else that can be done.” When I told her about the delivery arrive 7:40pm, which was after business hours, I was told that in the contract they could deliver up to 9pm. I told her I have the contract and I cannot find that. Afterwards, I looked at both contracts, and could not find a delivery time window in either of them. Bottom line is that once the order has been taken, both Alliance Van Lines and A-Plus has a complete lack of customer service.

  5. By far the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of using

I felt abused and taken advantage of from start to finish. They broke so much of my stuff and lost a bunch of things too.  I was lied to on multiple occasions.  The guy's who came to package and take my belongings were rude and aggressive, and as a woman who was by herself I felt very intimidated, especially by the person who was supposed to be in charge.  Once they had loaded everything on the truck he tried to tell me that the price I had negotiated for storage was wrong and it would be 10x what they had originally said,  I ended up having to call the office and get them to agree on a lower price but it was still way higher than we have originally agreed upon.   Then came the time when I wanted it delivered to me,  I told them the date I wanted it, but they showed up a week early and said I just had to take it, even though my apartment was not ready.  Luckily for me my landlord was very understanding and accommodating otherwise I would have ended up with it being dumped on the street.  Most of the large pieces of furniture were damaged or broken, and we lost a bunch of things too.  Which is not surprising when you see how they pack your stuff.  The guy's delivering it were beyond unprofessional, which is not surprising when you find out they were found on craigslist and not professional movers at all.  They were supposed to put the furniture back together but instead they told us they were going on a break and just drove off,  leaving us with furniture pieces all over the place, even though that is part of the service we paid for.  They also left a couple of very heavy pieces of furniture in the wrong room, that were way too heavy for me to move.  When I called the company the next day the manager refused to take my calls or return them.  I really don't know how they can get away with treating their customers so badly, Its criminal.  This company should not be allowed to operate.

  6. Rude customer service

My husband and I booked service on May 4, and called the very next day to cancel due to change of plans. The customer service rep, James, put us over to his manager (???) Jeff. My husband was very nice with nothing but compliments about the service we received the day before, but, we needed to cancel. Jeff then replied with and I quote: "thanks for wasting our time!" and then he hung up!!!

  7. Do Not use this company

A plus van lines is good at booking a move, but, if one cancels - they do not respond nor confirm the cancellation. Therefore, my rating is zero.

  8. Worst moving experience of my life

They lost the box containing my father's urn and ashes and have not tried to locate it or help me find it. They tried to charge me $1000 more than agreed when they came to drop off the delivery and they did not give 24 hours notice so we could prepare. Instead they sent a text at midnight the night before so I had to miss work to travel 7 hours to the new house we have not yet moved into to receive the delivery that same day. It was also a week later than our agreed upon delivery window. Would give 0 stars if I could.

  9. Completely Absurd

Do NOT use this company if you can help it. My wife and I booked A Plus to do an out-of-state move and had trouble with them from beginning to end.

First, they messed up the move date and contacted us 24 hours before a date we did not select. Apparently, there are separate companies that do the booking and the actual moving, and communication between them is poor.

Second, the move-out team was a bunch of guys that had been picked up from who-knows-where to do the job, and didn't work directly for the company. These guys were very unorganized and unprofessional, and kept looking through all of the belongings before moving them. On top of that, the company charged an extra $1000 on top of what they quoted, plus another $250 cash tip for this group of guys.

After, the move out, I got a call at 10pm the night before Thanksgiving saying that the moving truck would arrive at the destination at 7:00am the next morning, and that I had to have the last $1200 payment in CASH on arrival. The two guys who arrived the following morning could barely drive the truck and ran over a tree backing into the drive. They also had no ramp or elevator on the truck to remove the larger items, so I had to jump in a few times lest they drop an armoire. To top it off, their truck died as they were leaving and neither guy could figure out what to do. I had to pull my car around and spend the next hour charging their battery so they could pull out. (This is all happening Thanksgiving day while I'm trying to prepare for family, mind you.)

Lastly, and this is the kicker, they seriously damaged my motorcycle in the move. They packed the motorcycle in the middle of the truck with heavy things piled on top. Major denting and scratches, and a broken clutch. Contacting the third party insurance was difficult and confusing, and I had to wait three months to hear back that the insurance would not be paying out on the claim because the moving company denied any damages, and that the two buffoons who unloaded it did not write down anything on the manifest.

In all, this company cost us an extra $3000 in costs and damages on top of what we were quoted, we extremely unhelpful and unprofessional, and I cannot warn people off this company fast enough. Beware A plus.

  10. Move out of state

  11. Thieves! Never Delivered Items / No Response From Company - RUN!

A+ Van Lines of Moonachie, NJ are THIEVES.

They picked up my belongings in NYC on 11/20/2020. They say they tried to deliver to me on 11/27/2020, but my Bill of Lading clearly stated that the earliest possible delivery date was 11/29/2020. They then claim they had to put my things in storage and continue on their route and would come back to deliver it at a later date.

49 days later they have not delivered, and I doubt they ever will, as I fully expect they've stolen and sold it all. 4 times they have told me they were going to deliver on a specific date. Each time I take off work, wait for them, and then the day comes and goes and they never deliver, nor call to explain they won't be delivering.

The next day I always call, and Jennifer Davis at the company's only phone number, 877-220-6004 / (jennifer.davis@aplusvanlines.net). Jennifer always pretends to be surprised that the move wasn't delivered, but then can't explain to me what happened or get anyone on the phone who can provide more information.

She will never provide a guaranteed delivery date, will not connect me to anyone else at the company, and always feigns that she can't give any further information. She says "her dispatch team are in another location, she doesn't even really know them / where they are, and they make all the delivery arrangements," but she can't give me their phone numbers or a way to get in contact with them.

So, 49 days out - there's no one to talk to but Jennifer, no delivery timeline, and no one will respond to email or phone call requests other than to say "I'll get back to you", which she never does.

They're 100% thieves. Look at their BBB and you'll see reviews of others who had the same experience. They contract with Alliance Van Lines, another moving broker who helps them get contracts, which is also how I got scammed / ended up moving through them.

  12. Terrible experience

This company was the worst. It took 30 days for my stuff to even leave the pick-up destination, and once it finally arrived to me, several things were missing and damaged. Not to mention, they over-charged me, and they rarely answered my calls. When they did pick up, it is just one person who handles everything, and she doesn't answer your questions or give a sh** about your things. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY! I highly suggest you rent a truck and do the move yourself. I really regret not just doing it myself. This was the biggest waste of money.

  13. Stay Away! Worst Experience.

I recently moved from Washington, DC to Austin, TX, Despite paying extra to have A Plus Van Lines pack my move (my move was almost $5k), many of my items arrived damaged and destroyed. This weeks late and waiting, the company was unresponsive to my inquiries about my things. The whole experience was uncomfortable. At first they seem great because they are cheap but they cost you in the end and the people your work with are rude and do not care about their customers or making things right.

  14. Worst moving company ever charges additional 5000 broke my TV's and se.

Horrible broke stuff stuff was dirty 4 days late on pick up charged extra 5000 horrible horrible horrible company.

  15. Awful. Beyond Awful. A Scam.

This was the worst move I have ever had. We did not even hire this company. Fell for a scam that involved a broker , Alliance Van Lines, posing as the mover. They quoted 3400; day before the move got a call from A Plus saying they were the mover. Didn't have time to get different movers as the lease ended in 3 days.

With us hostage they then quoted a price of 5200. We paid it. Then when they arrived (6 hours late) in Georgia they wanted another 300. So we paid 2100.

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE or ALLIANCE VAN LINES.
