  1. Great job.

I was a little worried after reading the reviews and ended up hiring another company. They didn't show and I had to be out so these guys were my last option. Not only did they come thru but did a great job. I drove straight to Phoenix and the truck got there the next day. My experience was very positive and would recommend AAA family movers.

  2. Beware.

If considering using AAA Family Move, make sure you understand their business model: bid low, then aggressively add last minute extra charges the day of move, expecting you to pay up under the stress and time pressure of moving day.

We booked them partially due to their competitive price, but mostly because they promised a quick transit time - 2 days compared to as much as 13 days from the competition.

We expected to pay additional fees for several added items not on the inventory. What we did not expect: On the day of the move, part of the crew began immediately loading the truck while one man did an inventory and began reviewing with us a list of extra charges (MOST OF WHICH WAS PREPARED BEFORE THEY ARRIVED, BUT NOT SHARED WITH US PRIOR TO ARRIVAL.) Extra charges ranged from $75 each to wrap large items (mattresses, chairs, couches, etc) for protection (contrary to the contract, which listed this as included), to added charges for items they claimed were oversized or fragile. The inventory listed 85 boxes. They counted the smallest boxes first (some no bigger then a toaster); once reaching 85 boxes, additional (largest) boxes would cost $100 each or more. We asked them: is this typical? The response: most people just go along with the extra charges. We didn't - cancelling the move and contract.

The company did live up to their promise of a full refund. We were just stuck with finding a last-minute alternative.

While doing research on moving companies, I was concerned to find a AAA Family Move positive review that was actually written by the owner (without noting his relationship with the company). I pushed aside this ethics red flag; my mistake.

  3. HORRIBLE- more photos on yelp.

    WARNING!!
Quality Moving and Storage is a horrific company. I repeat A HORRIBLE COMPANY. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU VALUE YOUR BELONGINGS. The woman Kathy will talk your ear off, ensuring you that you are in good hands, but will fail to mention the companies insurance policy. If you don’t get the insurance on your belongings, lets say you have a $1,000 flat screen and it weighs 10lbs, they will give you $6 for it. I was unaware of this and I paid $6,000 to have all my belongings shipped from New York to South Florida. I paid that money for a PROFESSIONAL MOVING COMPANY. THAT IS NOT WHAT YOU WILL GET! Quality Moving Comany is affiliated with other moving companies as well. The company that unloaded my things was called Wheaton Moving company, and that place is a nightmare (look at the reviews for yourself.) When the truck arrived to my home in Florida, the boxes looked like someone played football with them. Come to find out the 3 men that were unloading my irreplaceable belongs were picked up from LABOR FINDERS (its basically just as bad as them picking up workers off the side of the road) they haven’t moved a day in their lives!! The amount of damage is unreal, my photos speak for themselves. There are things of mine that my deceased mother hand painted that are broken. I had a beautiful 3 foot bird feeder that they must have broke and didn’t want me to know about it so they never brought it inside. Boxes that said fragile and had arrows pointing upwards were facing down and smashed beyond repair. I will be taking this company to civil court and try to get my money back. I am appalled that I paid that much money for professional movers and got my belongings destroyed. When I asked the man who works for quality moving about why my boxes look like this- his answer was, you bought boxes from Home Depot, they don’t make good boxes.. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! The woman who works in the office, Kathy said she would call me at the end of the week, well I’ve yet to hear from her and I doubt I will because she got her check that I was unable to cancel. This isn’t over. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. LOOK AT MY PHOTOS THEY SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES.

  4. Broken Furniture Broken Promises.

Movers broke a huge ceramic lamp and dented a white jewelry box. Five days after the move I have not heard from my contact at AAA moving so I call. He snickers and tells me they do not repair and it was my responsibility to box the lamp. No sir. You told me that your movers came prepared with blankets and wraps. No compensation for my broken items. No recommendations from me. I guess you get what you pay for.

  5. Unprofessional and Very Rude!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AT ALL!! They are very RUDE and unprofessional. I spoke with a woman who claimed to be the supervisor and she raised her voice with me and got very upset because I cancelled and told me she was still going to charge me $100 for cancelling which I did ask if there was a cancellation fee before even making the appointment and she stated no at that time and that they would not charge my card until the day of the move.. She continued to argue with me about it and then hung up in my face. So unprofessional and I would NEVER recommend them to a soul! I stopped payment on my card so that raggedy business didn't get my money after all. Ha!

  6. Cancelled day before move, rude, no respect for customers.

I called the company after reviewing a call and a email spoke with Preeta have her my availability. She responded they had an opening and could so. It got a call back the next morning from another women, saying she was the supervisor and that they could not come only if I did it at 6-7 am. I told her I would not be available for. I have prior obligation and I'd be available at the earliest at 10-11 am. She refused the service. She hung up me. I called back. She stated we were disconnected. She kept yelling me. I asked her to stop yelling and she then stated. They had another move right after me and I asked can they move them back, let them know you'd be a little late. She said no. I stated well when I booked you guys Preeta told me the time slot was opened. She said well she's new so she don't know how it works (but as I read reviews from as early as last year and previous, Preeta name is there as customer service rep). I called back to make sure they would not charge my card and she stayed no they would not. This company is a bust and I would stay far away.

  7. Terrible service - lies and no communication!

I scheduled a pickup on Sunday 11/25 with AAA. This was agreed upon via email a week prior to the pickup date with Preeta. On Tuesday the 20th I get a call from some other guy that works with AAA and he says that they won't have a truck in my area on 11/25. It would be at least a week later. HOWEVER, they would actually be able to route one to my house on Thursday the 22nd - Thanksgiving! Seeing as how I wanted my furniture to arrive in Seattle as early as possible, I agreed to this. I was told that their driver would call me on Wednesday with a window for when to expect them. The driver did not call on Wednesday. The driver did not call on Thursday. The driver did not show up at all. At 6pm I emailed Preeta and thanked her for causing me to miss Thanksgiving with my family (they are 5 hours away).
She called me back the next day and said that their truck had broken down and that I really should have called her on Thanksgiving - as if it was my fault that nobody reached out to me. She also admitted that she wasn't in the office on Thanksgiving but "somebody would have been there to answer it." So then Preeta tells me that they can call me on Monday the 26th (today) and let me know when the truck will be here. I waited until about 10:30am before emailing her back and telling her to get lost.
Don't agree to anything with this company - read all of the reviews. They are scammers and have the worst customer service I've ever seen. Because of these clowns I now have to delay my move by a week and start my job a week later than I had planned. Now I look like an idiot to my new boss because I can't properly research moving companies. Thanks a lot.

  8. Rent a Uhaul Instead.

First off they had all my address information wrong, I emailed them the correct info and it was still incorrect. My pick up date was changed, and when I called I let AAA know I would not be ready for pick up on the(early) date  that they changed without warning. John was so rude! He told me to stop repeating myself when I asked why they were not honoring the moving contract and told me I was stupid. I was told I needed to be flexable because he was a proffessional. He continued to scream at me and  be insulting  until I finally hung up. This is the rudest company I have ever seen. Dont waste your time and money!

  9. Terrible!! Run For The Hills!! Vacate!! do Not Consider!!

WORST STORAGE UNIT EVER!! Managers are rude, even worse, the Owner (Ben) is selfish, and argues with you instead of empathizing and willing to remedy a situation at hand. They have terrible customer service skills, and should be out of business. In this type of economy, you would think they would like to keep their customers, instead the owner (Ben) thinks he is better than everyone. Look elsewhere for your storage needs! Hopefully they don't last.. So many other storage units are more deserving of peoples business, definitely not this one! My advice: Vacate Immediately &/or do not consider!! RUN for the hills!!

  10. I've Rather Move My Furniture on My Back.

This company does not honor is advertisements for governement discount, it uses and charges you for supplies even when specifically tell them not to use them, and don't dare call the office to speak with a supervisor unless you plan to be verbally assaulted. PLEASE heed my warning! had I read the review of the pass customer, I would have never used them. I went through the exact same expreience as the previous reviewer. O and don't think about not giving them whatever they ask you for, because they will take your property!

  11. SCAM Alert.

This company has a great SCAM going and it is legal. I just want everyone to know about the SCAM so they don't get swindled for money as I did. This moving company tells you that you control the labor hour..that you should have all your items packed and ready to go. If they have to box or wrap something, they charge you for supplies and these fees are absurd:$2.00 per foot (yes, per foot) for bubble wrap, $4.00 for one roll of tape. Here is where the SCAM come in. When you sign the contract, they have you initial beside each item they may have to provide. What they do not tell you is that they wrap EVERY item..couches, chairs, etc. Many people, like me, would think they were packed and ready to go and would not have to worry about them using their supplies but they never tell you they wrap everything. They charged me almost $1,000 for the supplies they used. They charged me for a wardrobe box that did not even get used..they left it empty at the new home. I don't feel like this company is up front with how they really make money..off their supplies. Also, when I called customer service, they were completely rude and the woman yelled at me on the phone. I told them that most people would have a major problem with the final amount being 3X the amount they were quoted. Oh, they do not unload your belongings until after you have paid them which tells me they have had issues with people being upset over the final amount and not paying. After all our complaints about them and the final charge..the moving men had the audacity to tell us that they could accept tips and they were pretty much expected..we told them their tip was in our final amount.
