  1. Lost my appliances.

Stay a while and read about my unfortunate experience with this company. It might be useful to you as you decide which company to use for your move. To summarize, when something bad happens on their watch, this company does not take any responsibility for it. Acadiana Movers moved our goods out of our house in Lafayette and into storage in late 2016, and we recently had them deliver it to NC. Their contract driver did a great job of delivering in a crowded residential area, but to our shock and dismay, he did not deliver our nearly new washer and dryer. They were not listed on the packing manifest, and he did not pick them up from the warehouse. We had good friends at our Louisiana home when our furniture was loaded, and they did not catch the paperwork omission. Regrettably, I did not catch it either, and only knew of a problem when the appliances failed to show up with our shipment. The washer and dryer definitely left the house and vanished. Whether the manifest was intentionally or accidently incorrect, I do not know. I do know that the washer and dryer seem to have disappeared into thin air. The Acadiana Movers manager politely listened to my claim, admitted he believed me, and denied any responsibility or culpability in the matter. If it’s not on the list, it doesn’t exist, and he is probably correct in that I have no legal claim. How could I if there was fraud or overlooked “error?” I maintain my appliances disappeared under his responsibility, and a moral and ethical company interested in good service to its customers would offer some compensation. He can’t explain where my appliances are, but maintains it’s not his problem. Maybe Acadiana Movers is okay for a something simple if you are watching them, but when things go badly they are not going to stand by you.
