  1. Hire someone from craigslist.

Really disappointed with this moving company! What a joke - I did a move from Minnesota to Chicago, hired a truck and paid someone off of Craiglist to load/unload the items as well as drive truck to Chicago This time the move was substantially further in terms of distance from Chicago so I figured I would hire a known moving company. They take your deposit after pick-up and then literally stop paying any attention to the customer- they refuse to listen to complaints and are extremely unreasonable to deal with. Horrendous experience so far !! Save your money and hire someone from Craigslist, you might have better luck.

  2. Beware of Hiring Them!!

These guys are absolute crooks!! First, they would not adhere to the binding agreement they issued for our estimate. Called us repeatedly for weeks demanding we sign new documentation increasing the price in order to insure additional charges and holding of our belongings. Please note, we not only didn't add any additional items after the binding estimate but actually filled up an SUV and a full size car with our belongings. So there was actually less items then the binding estimate showed.

Do not believe they will put your articles in the supposed "secure and environmentally controlled storage space either". We believed that story only to find out that some our belongings got wet, had mold all over them, wood warped so we couldn't put the bed back together etc.

Lastly, you will not get professional movers if moving to a different state. They actually hired high school kids off of craigslist to assist the driver of the truck. So the trained and vetted employees claim is a complete farce. They will swear to you up front that you will get professional movers but that all changes once you sign the paperwork. And when you file your claim, they will tell you they have every right to such. In the process now of informing their bonding agent and insurance provided of these practices. Needless to say, our house was all beat up, pushed boxes across our just finished wood floors, couldn't carry dressers, dropped boxes of dishes on the floor etc. Then, they were given box cutters to unpack and cut right into our leather chairs, furniture, cut our mattress apart among other items.
The "3rd party" claim process is a total joke and you will literally get nothing for the damage caused by their negligence. Your only option will be to lawyer up and hope for the best.

I can not reiterate enough how bad this company is. We are not some unreasonable family that had a couple of items damaged (we expected some things would get damaged in the process). But these guys are a fraud. Everything they tell you up front is a lie and when you do have a problem, you will never get your "moving specialist" back on the phone again.

LOOK ELSEWHERE!! There are plenty of other options out there.

  3. Don't do it, they SUCK.

They don't take care with your belongings. Furniture torn, glassware shattered, boxes and sturdy totts crushed, boxes missing. They don't care. No reumbursement. Claim process a joke. Must buy extra ins to be covered. Not explained well enough during the contract process.
Subcontractors are overworkek and forced to work 18hr days. This causes many mistakes if not deliberate.
I thought I had done a good job researching. Although there were mixed reviews, all the companies have the same. I don't know how to avoid this from happening. All movers suck, and the consumers are their hostages. Rules need to changed to protect people from unscrupulous practices. Bottom line, if you own nice things and expect them to be moved and delivered in the same condition, use another company. Good luck.

  4. Good experience.

My mother and I had a very good experience with All Around Van Lines. We were referred to them through a family member who had used them for the same move a few years ago. The only negative aspect that I would like to point out is that the moves were delayed by an hour, however they were great (and funny) so in the end everything worked out fine.

  5. Do Not Use; Fraudulent Practices.

WORST COMPANY EVER!! DO NOT USE. I paid for a premium move, and was promised a move with my own moving truck unless an identical move was occurring with another customer on an identical timeline. I was also assured that no subcontractors were used. Upon delivery, another company arrived to complete the move, who admitted to being subcontractors. More importantly, my truck was shared with three or four other people's belongings, some of which were brought into my home. They movers admitted they never use a truck for a single person, and they were taking the other belongings all over the country. I was inclined to let it go, until several weeks later, a BED BUG infestation developed in my brand new apartment (which had never had previous tenants)!  All surrounding units were checked and did not have bed bugs and I have never encountered them anywhere I have lived. In short, don't use this company.  I've used other movers before and the experience was night and day.  Buyer beware.

  6. Stress free move.

To be honest, it was one of the best experiences I have ever had. I felt great. After being relocated by All Around Van Lines , felt honoured. They had done something that I did not think possible. They had relocated me safely and without any trouble. The crew that was sent over to help me turned out to be more diligent than I had actually expected. What inspired me most about them is the manner in which they arrived. They were all set; ready with their tools and equipment that they might have needed. They were well-dressed in uniform, and it’s like that presentable worked out perfectly well for me. I got so much thrilled that I did not even notice them winding up the job in a few hours. I could not believe my eyes when I walked in and realized that there was nothing left in the former house. They had all been arranged in the awaiting truck. All I could was smile.

  7. Easy to work with.

All Around Vans was very helpful and quick when setting up and arranging our move. They were quick to respond to emails and phone calls. Due to situations outside their control, I did not use them to move, but I would still recommend them for their professionalism and the ease of use in setting up a move. Even when we had to cancel unfortunately, they were helpful and quick.

  8. All Around Van Lines.

Great moving experience! The movers were prompt, careful and considerate. All of our belongings that we sent with the company were transported as they should be. I would advise that if you are moving a long distance, this is the company for you. Great workers, great prices, unbeatable service. Will definitely use them again if I ever have to move cross country again. Thanks!

  9. Should have picked a reputable mover.

I'd like to give 0 stars, but at least the furniture got to the destination. Where to begin? Arranging a delivery date with the sub contractor was very difficult. After we were told it would take up to 10 days to get there, the subcontractor called to deliver it before we arrived in the destination. We explained that it is a building that has specific dates and times for deliveries. To make a long story short, the subcontractor said he could not deliver any of the days we requested, even though he was in the general area. Finally he said for an additional $500. he could. When the furniture finally was delivered, a wall unit was broken, a ladder was missing, and the largest box of items and clothes was also missing. After going through an insurance claim process, the claim was denied, even though it was for minimal value.
STAY AWAY FROM ALL AROUND !!

  10. Disgusted.

Never moved out of state before but next time will never even consider ALL AROUND VAN LINES. Once they finally showed up after 25 days waiting to receive my belongings, we found every cardboard box was delivered inside upside down. Most of the plastic bins lids were crushed on one or two sides so the lids are not usable anymore leaving us with just bottoms. This is all despite lots of shrink wrap around the outside of each plastic bin and cardboard box. Our wardrobe boxes were all crushed looking like they stacked these boxes on the bottom knowing very well they were tagged "wardrobe" and needed to be stacked on the very top. Jeez, how much common sense was used here??
Many of my small shot and drink glasses were busted along with some of my stoneware and dinner plates.
The worst was the fact that my husbands Dewalt tool box (5 tools total) never showed up and no one seemed to know what happened especially the two young boys making the delivery who complained of being so tired and working long hours and that they were working hard for us as customers when it took almost 4 hours to unload (mind you we had absolutely no furniture but 1 couch and the rest was only kitchen, garage and personal items). They would not let us look into the truck for our Dewalt tool box nor did they want us near the truck when we were wondering what was taking so long in between the loads. I'm sure they didn't want us to see how things were stacked. They showed up much later than they originally said and went into the night to the point that they didn't care anymore and we were beyond disbelief, anticipating the time when this would be all over and they were gone.
I even made sure that where they were going to deliver was ample room for the semi to back into. I was told 2 weeks prior to delivery time that everything should be just fine. I was trying to eliminate any extra costs, but the driver insisted he couldn't back into the area (despite the neighbors saying many moving semi's have backed in and unloaded just fine for other people). Had to get permission from his supervisor and we were going to be charged another $350 for the supposed 275 feet they had to walk to the door. I was on phone for half hour disputing this charge. I made mistake thinking the driver knew what he was doing, when in fact he was too young to realize any professionalism in this scenario. Another thing, none of their trucks or semi had the company name or logo on it like this was a black market transaction?? What company doesn't want to advertise??
I don't want to even get into the 3 "boys" who came to pick up our boxes and 1 large couch..they were there way to long and lacked any experience in the moving world handling clients personal items. Simply saying DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY FOR ANYTHING. The reviews stating support for this company must have had a different moving company altogether..they've confused the name. Paid way too much to this company for items we never will have again and service that was less than ok. Disgusted.

  11. All Around Van Lines.

Do not use All Around Van Lines! All Around Van Lines (AAVL) moved friends of mine from Minnesota to Pennsylvania. My friend contacted this so called a professional outfit, The AAVL sales person said it would take a truck and 3 guys about 2 hours to load and about 2 hours to unload, and cost $2400.00 and take 2 - 4 business days to get their stuff moved to PA. When my friend’s husband made the arrangements he told the salesperson that they might have a couple extra boxes that he did not inventory at the time. The sales person said there wouldn't be any extra charge. Wrong! Long story short we had moved my friend’s stuff from their home to a friend’s basement to store for a month until they could move in at PA. Used a professional local mover, it took a truck, 2 men and 3 hours to load, drive and unload. On the pickup day (June 28) AAVL told my friend’s wife that they would be there to pick their stuff up between 2 & 5 PM. AAVL showed up around 3:00 (OK). The so-called professional movers argued that the stuff would not fit in their truck. My friend called the AAVL office and a second truck was dispatched. It arrived around 6:30. My friends had four small boxes and a stroller that was not on the inventory, the movers said it would cost an extra $2500.00 to move it. The so-called professional movers of the 2 trucks argued for a half an hour about loading the stuff before even lifting a finger to move my friend's stuff onto the trucks. It took 6 guys (arguing the whole time) 4 hours to load the stuff that was already in boxes. (11:30 PM). Which at that time the movers told my friends it will take 10 - 15 business days to move their stuff to Pa. That AAVL would notify my friends 24 hours before delivery of their stuff in PA. Side note, AAVL failed to load 2 boxes that were on the inventory. Ok, it's an 18 hour trip from Minnesota to Pennsylvania. That's 3 (6 hour days). Why the hell does it takes 15 work days? I don't know. So my friends have been living in their new home for 21 days without there stuff. They only clothes they had were in their suitcases and the portable crib for their son. My friend is 8 months pregnant and had to sleep on an air mattress which didn’t work out for her so they had to buy a new bed.21 days later (June 20) at 2:30 pm on a Sunday, AAVL called that they were going to deliver my friends stuff between 8:00 am – 12:00 pm the next day. AAVL told my friends they would have pay AAVL in cash or a postal check before the movers would unload their stuff. AAVL showed up at 11:55. The Driver of the truck said do you have the $2500.00. I can’t do anything until I’m paid. My friend paid him. While backing up their truck to where they were going to unload the driver hit a parked car. At that point, the driver told my friend that he wasn’t going to try to get any closer to his house so it was going to cost him more money. My friend told him he had already paid almost $5000.00 to move and was not going to pay any more.AAVL sent 2 guys, a driver, and a helper. The driver refused to help unload the truck, so my friend had to help the other guy unload the truck. Two of their bookshelves had been destroyed.A desk had a hole in it. The coffee table was splintered. Boxes that were marked as “fragile” which had glassware and dishes were crushed and bent, most of the contents broken. Three boxes of books had come unpacked and spilled onto the pavement. And they call themselves a F'N Professional Moving Company!  They are nothing more than a bunch of rip-off artists. Do not use this company! I took a vacation to help my friends move to Pennsylvania. I drove one of their cars out for them. I was going to help them move their stuff into their new home, but thanks to AAVL that didn’t happen! So now my friends (one who is 8 months pregnant) had to do it themselves. PS: My friends are my daughter and her husband.

  12. Went smoothly.

Exceptional service, AAVL, this team has been exceptionally responsive to in all aspects of vetting movers and planning they day-of move. They learned that our planned move is for a non-profit organization; I cannot thank them enough, or recommend them more. Thank you! Don't have much time so this is all I am goanna say. Excellent moving experience. Will use their services again. THANKS All Around Van Lines!

  13. Where's our belongings?

Pick up: You give them a 2 day window for pick up. We weren't called until the end of day 1 to tell us pick up would be in the morning. Late morning we were called to say pick up would be in the afternoon. Afternoon we were called to say pick up would be at 5pm. They packed our things up from 5pm- 1am when we had a long drive after our house closing the next day. During the pick up, the employees kept complaining about how hard they were working and how many hours they worked.
Drop off: You are given a 10 business day window when your things will be delivered. You choose the 1st day. We are now 4 days past the last day in the window with no idea when our items will be delivered. In fact, they are still in Minnesota. To help soothe the pain, they discount each day they are late. Today I found out that discount is a mere $15 per day! It is written in the contract that if we were late, we are charged $250 per day. I think it is only fair that they discount it that much. Then they would actually move quicker.

  14. Fraudulent Moving Company.

We had attempted to work with All Around Van Lines for a move from Rockford, Illinois to Dallas, Texas.
All Around Van Lines were unable to meet their agreed upon pickup date and time with 1 week advance notice, and then fraudulently charged our credit card after failing to provide services. We were required to contract with another moving company on moving day due to their no show.
