  1. Moving.

    Absolutely horrendous.. RACHEL was the girl
    We booked with and blatantly told my husband they were not brokers. What’s more she told us that the pickup would be Monday 4th from New York and delivery would be Tuesday 5th..today is 13th and still no furniture. We came down to Kentucky the eve of the 4th simply because RACHEL told us that our furniture would be here!! We have had to eat out every day since we got here and also pay for hotels at the cost of $1535.75 which I presume will not be taken off our total when our furniture eventually arrives. My husband has called on numerous occasions to be played like a tennis ball between this company and coach moving USA ( which was who they brokered it out to) both companies are extremely inadequate. Moving is stressful enough but being promised something you never get is hard!! As of right now my husband just got off the phone to be told they would call back in an hour that I’m sure will not happen and RACHEL is uncontactable .. THANKS RACHEL.

  2. Worst Moving Experience Ever.

    I signed a contract with Alliance Movers in early June for a cross-country moving that would take place starting August 8 with a 2-days window. I emphasized many times that I had a preferred delivery time around August 24. The sales representative told me although I didn't contract for guaranteed delivery, they would very likely accommodate my requirement because I booked early. Relying on this, I arranged my schedule in August.
    On August 8, no one contacted me. I called Customer Service. It said it will check the status and get back to me soon. Till the end of that day, no one contacted me. On August 9, I called the Customer Service again. Like the previous day, it said it will get back to me after it checked the status with the truck driver. I waited until the afternoon when a dispatcher told me that the driver would come on August 10. On August 10, no one came. I called Customer Service. No one answered because it was a Saturday. I called the sales representative who fortunately transfered the working phonecall to her personal cellphone. A few hours later, the dispatcher called me saying that the driver can pick up my stuff on August 11. My travel plan was heavily interrupted by the unexpected and unexplained delay.
    The delivery part is even more disappointing. In early August before the moving took place, I called to double-check whether my stuff can arrive in the destination around August 24. Customer Service said it marked my request on the system. When the driver and mover were here, I checked again and they told me the delivery can be made between August 24 and August 26. On August 20, I called Customer Service again to check the status who told me that my stuff would arrive around August 29. Later when I called again to ask a few details, another Customer Service staff told me that my stuff was still in the original region and would actually arrive 10 to 21 days starting August 24. I was surprised and wanted to know why there is such a change. The Customer Service staff impatiently told me that it was what I contracted for. But when I looked at the e-document I signed, it did not mention the 10-21 days of window. I told the staff that the information was misleading and I relied on the misrepresentation of the sales representative to believe that my stuff will arrive between August 24 and August 26. The Customer Service staff replied with a bad attitude that I signed the contract and that's it.
    Today is August 28 and I still have no idea when my stuff will arrive. I feel I can't trust whatever they tell me. I will never work with this moving company again.

    Alliance Movers & Storage Inc,. is a most corrupt moving company I ever dealt with. I recently file a Criminal Complaint with both State and Federal Law Enforcement Agency's for Fraud by using Extorsion type means to elevated the true moving costs. Alliance Movers & Storage Inc,. failure to cover our broken & stolen items during the move. Our original moving contracted costs was $4953.97, and I ended up paying $7762.00. We weren't notified of the increase till 2 days prior to delivery. Alliance Movers & Storage Inc., stated if I didn't pay the increase I wouldn't get our household items and they would put into storage with an increase in costs. We also ask for a copy of our inventory list and they stated they can't find one. I also just found out that Alliance Movers & Storage Inc., was operating in the state of Maine illegally without State Permits/Licenses We are following thru with our criminal complaints with the law enforcement agencies.

  4. Choosing 1 star - because 0 was not an option.

    Worst experience I've ever had.. and I am not a complainer (I still tip 20% and don't say anything if my food is not any good). They did not show up on date I needed to leave, had to stay an extra day (which caused me to have to drive the 18 hours to my destination straight through). Once they showed up, I had to pay extra for "extra storage space" needed on the truck (not sure how the cubic feet needed in the truck and the cubic feet of my storage area differed so greatly). Ended up costing about 1.5-2X what they quoted.
    Almost every piece of furniture was damaged, even if only a little bit (corner cracked here or there, scratches/gouges in wood). Once the items were FINALLY delivered, we were missing major items (i.e. 70" TV). We flagged down the truck driver, climbed into the back of the semi and sorted through the items for the 'next delivery'. Several of our items were co-mingled with the next delivery. We grabbed what we could (the TV (thank God), the TV stand and a few small boxes), but when we finally sat down and did the inventory, we were still missing several boxes, some small furniture and one major piece of exercise equipment. Once we realized, we immediately called customer service and called and texted the driver (within 30 mins of him leaving our house). We asked them to be on the lookout for at least the exercise machine at the next delivery (you would think a pretty obvious item). I also offered to drive wherever they were headed to meet them and grab the rest of our stuff. Their response was that they couldn't look at/for anything until I submitted a claim and they had 120 days to review all claims. After repeated calls (after submitting the claim) they kept telling me they had 120 days to review claims and/or just stopped answering my calls (somehow every time I called it went to a Voicemail even during business hours).
    Fast forward 3.5 months, they could "not locate" any of my missing items. They paid out 60cents per lb. (per my contract).

    I really wish I would have done more research before we hired them. It cost us a lot of money and we still ended up losing items or with damaged goods. I will never again use any moving company.

  5. Liars, thieves, worst move by far ever.

    Run, do NOT WALK is entirely accurate.  These "people" are THE WORST ON THE PLANET.  Busted up or stolen.  Those are your 'choices.'  Might as well not even try to save your things.  Just burn them on the front end, do not even let these people in your front door, and buy new household goods when you get to your new place.  You are going to have to do it anyway, plus paying extra for a sucking chest wound.

  6. Horrible.

    This is the worst moving experience that I have ever had.  First, on the date of pickup, they did not show.  When I called about the no show, they kept transfering and placing me on hold.  When I finally spoke with someone she insulted me and called me a liar.  I asked for my money to be refunded as this arrangement was not working out, and they refused.  Moreover, when you initially book the service, they do not inform you that they are just a broker.  They also tell you that the amount quoted is a flat rate.  However, when the movers show up, they attempted to charge $12 for fuel from their business location to pickup.  I never agreed to use a moving company in NJ as my storage unit is in the Bronx.  Furthermore, there is no documentation stating that I am responsible for fees.  Moreover, when I booked with Alliance, Jordan Doran told me that we do not pay for gas tolls etc.   In addition, on the day I called because the movers never showed up, I spoke with Andrew, the dispatch manager.  When I told him that I should receive a discount due to the no show, he told me that I cannot receive one.  But, I can file a claim with their claims dept to be compensated.   Ironically, they also delete the only paperwork you have for the move without notice.  I went back to review the contract and clicked my reservation number in my email, and my contract had been removed.   There is so much more to say but in summary, the customer service is horrible.  The operators either insult you, place you on hold for internity, or hangup on you.  Once they receive the initial deposit, they do not care about you.  
    Then, they throw all blame onto whatever moving company they hire to physically move you.  On the 2nd scheduled date, the movers over an hour and a half late.  Also once they have all of your stuff in the truck, is the time they tell you that you owe more money.  Thus, they use duress.  That company will show up and tell you that your items weigh more than estimated and tell you that you owe them more money.  It is a bait and switch.      .

  7. Alliance Movers Inc.

    Initial salesman was thoroughly convincing but, you never speak to that person again.  We were moved by Econo Van Lines?? How they came into the picture I'll never understand.  The movers primary language was Spanish so, communication was a bit of an issue.  They showed very little regard for our items which was very noticed upon their receipt.  Scratched, broken legs, dented items.. They wanted prompt payment but, were sloppy with that too.  They lost my postal certified money order and I had to send them proof of that. When I filed my claim, they requested more information, I supplied that but, they still totally disregarded it and said we are due no compensation!! Unbelievable, NOT a company I would ever recommend to anyone!

  8. Horrendous Moving Company.

    First off once you sign with them ,you will never get in touch with your original salesman. I know they give you an estimate but beware because estimate will double if not triple . The foreman informs you once the truck is packed and your already late moving he requests a large sum of money to continue or he will unload the truck.  They came in a small truck with not enough packing equipment or tape , asked us to go buy the items they needed. They used our moving blankets because they had 2. Okay so now we are a day late of moving out . We were supposed to be moved out already, so we are left with no choice but to continue . Most of our furniture is left unwrapped and with the promise of good faith from  the foreman he says it will all be wrapped after they put all of our belongings on another truck.  Here is where it goes crazy, driver now gives us the bill and estimates the weight of furniture and says if we don't give him another $890.00 he will unload the truck. Guess we have no choice , at this point no one will answer a phone and how long to find another mover and find a hotel.  He promised to weigh the truck before loading onto the other truck and refund us but you know the answer to that . Never happened. Finally truck arrives with our belongings and the crew was very unprofessional in looks and manners. I wonder if they were even licensed to move. They demand the balance before opening the truck for us to look at the Inside of the truck or say they will leave. So we pay and they open the truck and I wish I thought to take a picture but we were in shock. Our belongings were still unwrapped never transferred to another truck and damaged beyond belief. Their wasn't one piece not damaged. Chunks of wood gouged out chips all over . Something spilled all over the truck because it was l over everything. It looked like the truck was tossed around because everything was just all over. Our furniture was not cheap and was in excellent condition. We can not replace it either. These people have no regard for anyone they practically laugh in your face actually they did. Boxes were missing also.  All of our furniture is damaged , there is not 1 piece of furniture in good condition anymore. After all this they gave us $120.00 for the damages. Disgusting and horrible company I wish I read the reviews before I booked them because y hey really have no good reviews         .

  9. Dishonest salesman.

    My review will simply echo the other reviewers. Bad company. Will lie at every chance. Although there are many documents to sign, they hang their hat on the term "binding estimate" to hang you. They will tell you anything and everything on the phone but the charges are never changed. This is the company based in Long Island City, NY. Don't confues them with other, better rated, companies with the Alliance name. 54 BBB complaints. Find another company if you are considering moving and save yourself a headache. Record all calls otherwise. You use these guys at your own peril. They are NOT movers. They are brokers who hire sub-contractors.

  10. Deceitful Company!

    First, I had no idea I was dealing with brokers because Kyler Rieoff didn't disclose that.  Ater discovering it, he admitted that but claimed that they only deal with good, professional companies which turned out to be a lie because they hired Liberty Relocation to move my family from CA to TX!  Liberty Relocation arrived late costing us more money because we had to make extra hotel arrangements.  Though Kyler told me it would take 4 to 10 days for our furniture to arrive so to pack for a few days, it took them 31 days to deliver our belongings and we had a newborn baby in the house!  And of course during the time in between, I couldn't get Kyler back on the phone but I sure could get him prior to the $690 he got out of us (excluding the $2300 we paid to Liberty Relocation and the truck driver)!
    Our bedroom furniture for both bedrooms were nicked and scratced on ALL corners including the baby's bed!  My husband's hand weights were stolen.  We had two bookcases: one large and one small.  The small bookcase was delivered but not the large one; however, the bookshelves to the large bookcase was delivered but not the small! Our entertainment center which was in excellent condition was mutilated.  We had to throw out all medications/vitamins and etc. due to the extreme heat where our things were stored.  And we were delivered someone else's ladder and when I told the truck driver Alex it wasn't ours, he congratulated us on getting it!  By the way, Alex showed up alone so my 23 year old son and husband helped.  Alex paid my husbad $60 but my son got nothing. 
    My plan is to get both companies shut down, and whoever licenses these companies (be it the state or DOT) should be sued and santioned due to ALL of the complaints these companies get!  Shame on them for not having the consumer's best interest at heart!

  11. Heart Wrenching Move.

    Alliance Movers contract moving companies. The moving compay Liberty Relocation was who they chose for us. This was the worst move ever in my life! They arrived June 26 at 11:15pm and I said I was not happy and the driver threatened to walk off and not take any of my things and said I could call Monday and get someone else! I was moving from a leased property and my lease was up. Then he told me it would cost me $1,300 extra for my furniture to be packed good because things got  "drug around like crazy". That was comforting. He told me my furnishings would be placed and set up and the srappings would be taken away. When the driver got there it was 3 hours when his help arrived. I had my boxes labeled for contents and what room they went in. Everything was crammed in the garage the furniture boxes were thrown on top and furniture pieces were left for me to carry in. I am a 56 year old lady and was there by myself. they left all trash, furniture was broken, they carried inoil on my new carpet, broken furniture was hidden, beds were set up incorrectly, and I am still finding things that are missing, like 1 large outdoor wooden bench and 2 large dog houses. How could you miss those? I packed dishes and breakalble very well, as I have done this several times before. I had more broken items than ever. When boxes came off truck they were mashed and caved in. This was without a doubt the most unprofessional and pathetic move ever! My neighbors and friends were in shock. The company I hired to haul off all boxes told me that they had never seen anything like this from movers before. I think they took advantage of me because I was a woman alone. DISCRIMINATION!! Debbie Viers   p.s. The items movers take from distination to destination are more than just "stuff". These things are part of families lives. My deceased grandmothers antiques were damaged. How do I put a price on that. How do I replace family photos? I am sick and heart broken. Also My estimate weight was almost 4,000 pounds lighter, do I get a refund for that? Now I have to go to a lot of trouble and go through different departments to  "try to get something done". Sad day this is how people treat one another. I feel totally disrespected!

  12. Stolen items not replaced.

    I did a move from SC to IN. The 2 men that showed up from Pro Movers Inc a company that was hired by Alliance Moving company were always on their phone. Looking back it seemed that they were planning to steal the items that were taken. My furniture was picked up on a Wednesday night. The drivers were supposed to take my stuff directly to storage. Instead they"stopped"overnight and my 3 TVs and computer, printer,keyboard, mouse were stolen. Getting a hold of the company has been a chore with them saying that they still give you a call back. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE!!

  13. Lies,lies and more lies.

     Told me they had their own trucks then gave my job to an awdful company who did not speak english and damaged my furniture. They broke a door on my dresser and never fixed it. Alliance abandoned me completely and I still have a broken dresser two months later. Their QA program is total bull [EDIT]. The only thing they know how to do is put people on indefinite hold. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

  14. This is the beat service ever.

    They moved us very efficient and quick. The price wasn't the cheapest, but well worth it! I got a lot of different calls and a lot of them sounded too good to be true. Then Randy gives me a call and finally found a reputable company. They had availability so it was a no brainer. So I booked it with a small deposit. 36 hours prior to the load I got a call from Jim the driver. We set up a time for the pick up. He was 7 minutes late but obviously that was OK. He was driving a large truck and traffic is not the best in my area.

  15. Moving Nightmare.

    RUN, DON'T WALK AWAY!!  This company gave me a binding contract for $2,000; when items were picked up it was suddenly $3,500.  They were several days late, labeled my items, said it would be $3,500 - I argued with driver but he would not budge. Insisted on $700 in CASH. They immediately broke a leg off my desk before they even left the house.  On arrival, an antique oak recliner, wool area rug, solid wood coffee table and four of my boxes were missing. I was not there so my daughter signed for the items; the driver was very threatening, demanded more money for stairs (which were included in contract) and wanted cash instead of the money order.  He did not get the cash and became very angry - he left the correct number of boxes but 4 were not mine.  I have 4 boxes of someone else's items and am missing 4 of mine. hOW THEY LOST 4 OF MY BOXES WHEN I HAD LABELED EVERY SINGLE ONE WITH MY NAME AND ADDRESS IS UNBELIEVABLE.  Have contacted both Alliance and CrossCountry Movers with no result.  They have basically ignored my claim forms that I sent in.  Customer Service? at Alliance finally sent me an email with the name of the insurance company so that I could file the claim directly with them, instead of the company taking care of it.  They destroyed my computer desk hutch, broke the glass shelf of china cabinet, broke the glass in the china cabinet door, destroyed a METAL floor lamp (it is in three pieces) as well as many, many of the boxes were damaged and had gotten wet.  This is the worst experience of my life in dealing with any company.  Total disregard for your personal belongings as well as totally ignoring many, many phone calls, emails, etc.  NEVER, NEVER USE THIS COMPANY.  You would be finacially better off to sell everything and then buy when you get where you are going. I would have saved a lot of money had I done this.
