Damaged Furniture.
We moved furniture from Aventura, Florida, to Bethesda, Maryland in October 2018. We signed the contract with American Moving Partners, LLC, which said it included up to $10,000 in insurance. American Moving Partners then subcontracted a Florida company, We Care For You, to carry out the move. Two dining room chairs -- wrapped by the movers -- arrived with the backs broken off. We filed our claim -- via email and regular mail -- in early November. The company ignored repeated email inquiries about the claim's status for three months. It only responded after we posted a negative review online. The offered payment for breaking two dining room chairs (part of a six chair set)? $6.00.
