  1. AVOID!! Double the cost and failure to respond to AD in military.

    We initially liked the appeal of this company but don't be fooled by the pretty prices and customer service. We were moving for the military and were estimated at 1600 to move cross country but less than 24 hours before our items were delivered we were informed that there was an overload fee costing 1800 and if we did not pay this price our items would not be delivered until it was paid. Unfortunately, needing all of our stuff was a priority(uniforms, computers, etc)so we paid, informing the company that we would be making a formal complaint. They(the manager) said they would keep in touch and have failed to do so. And anytime we try to reach out for our issue we are devoid of any responses. We have filed with the Better Business Bureau and Americas choice has FAILED to respond to the BBB and their multiple efforts to get in contact. All of this is on top of the damaged goods we received at an estimated $500 worth of damages. AVOID this company at all costs. Original Sales rep: Lisa Wagner, Manager: Dave (didnt get last name.).

  2. Bad Experience - Poor Communication - Original Price Doubled.

    Very bad experience with this company. Amy was very nice on the phone during the initial stage of the process. Once the contract was signed, the movers came out, said the original estimate of $1,045.00 would now be $2,430.00. And could be more but we wouldn't know until they delivered the furniture. Asked for delivery date which we provided them to be 2/6/16. They delivered on 2/14/16, five hours later than they told us the night before. This company doesn't communicate, holds you hostage with their demands, and should be avoided at all costs.

  3. Belongings held hostage.

    Do NOT use this company. They will add charges after agreed upon contract and hold your goods hostage but telling you if you don't pay the additional you belongings will not get delivered.
    Save yourself some grief. Stay away!!

    All of a sudden the sales person becomes invisible and the only resolution is to pay the extra "charges" via cash or they don't deliver your goods.

    Beware of all the hidden charges .. steps, elevators, and most of all the infamous "you've got a lot more stuff than what we based our estimate on" and your cost doubles after already being loaded on the truck!

  4. Worst Mover in the Industry!

    This has been horrible experience with this mover  Americas Choice Moving. they took 62 days to move from CA to AR. This Transport (car/furniture moving) industry known for one of the worst practices, some Federal/State has to crackdown all defaulters and most of the crooked business  operators from this Business. There are bunch of Lairs, up professional business firms sell operating business here. I have Learned that don't sign contract with any Movers without doing Online Due diligence and  BBB  and reviews and ratings don't look for cheap price Quotes. Few comments about this specific mover Americas Choice Moving. 1.Pickup date and schedule was fine good 2.Moving status website no updates- technical issues with websites. 3.No reliable communication status updates by its staff. 4.Worst very rude staff members. Keeps music for simple questions. 5.They least bothered about agreed timeline 21days.SLA. 6. Storage: they spoiled my 2 Bikes keeping them on the sun and dirt to the furniture .broke the chair wheels. 7.To be honest, we have forgotten some valuable items in our briefcases but they are all came safely nothing was robbed,  my friends warned me about these movers. 8.Finally, delivery day guys were good they properly assembled my furniture since Delivery guys are from different company. The Mental Tension, frustration anger and 2 months we spent very horrible conditions at  Destination. Finally, If we take everything positive my family tested to live in simple lifestyle and less materialistic world. Finally, I work recommend this horrible mover for god sake! I have Learned that don't sign contract with any Movers without doing Online Due diligence and  BBB  and reviews and ratings don't look for cheap price Quotes.     .

  5. Run From This Company.

    THE WORST COMPANY EVER !!   This company should not even be in business.. They have noooo clue what customer service is and does not care one bit about their customers once they take your money.  They were sooo helpful with getting me set up and setting up the pick up. They answer every question quickly and do what they can to real you in, they make you feel like you can trust them and your belongings are safe in their hands .. Once my belongings were in their possession that all changed.It took over a month to finally receive my belongings as they kept saying there was delays in the drivers route. They would say I would have my stuff by a specific date and then take several days after that day comes and goes to return my emails as I called every day with no answer and when they finally do they just push you off another week to go threw the same thing over and over again. When the driver finally showed up with my stuff I asked him what took so long and he told me this company begged him to take my load not even a week prior when they told me the driver took it several weeks ago "with delays". They failed to mention to me that their company does not actually deliver your belongings, they pay a driver that is NOT employed by Americans Choice Moving to take your stuff to you.Not only do I have a whole lot of damaged items I also have several missing items. Almost every one of my boxes were busted, some taped back together with stuff hanging out, plastic containers with NO lids and not knowing what's missing. It looks like they just threw my boxes around and did not care about my stuff bI have full boxes of stuff and several furniture items that is flat out missing all together and all they would tell me was "this is why you have insurance" .. Really, when their representative specifically told me I really did not need to purchase the extended insurance but there was the standard insurance included in my quote. When calling the insurance company (not threw them) will only pay $12 total per missing box (they do not care what all is in that box but only pays $12) and they determine what the weight of my furniture items are and only pay penny's per pound and won't do anything with everything else that's missing as I do not have original purchase receipts.. Really, you lost or stole my items and expect me to have every receipt from every item I have purchased in my life??  I also had antiques that were past down generations, there is no receipt for those. The items that broke in my boxes are NOT covered by this insurance either as "I boxed the items in the box myself" when I was told to have everything ready for the movers and they suggest using large boxes to put all the small or loose items in.I do as I am told, have everything packed in medium and large boxes. I am a female and I unloaded my entire storage unit by myself and piled it for them in the street and made there job easier. Once the mover put it in the truck they also raised my total from my quote as I now had more "cubic feet" somehow. I told them the size storage unit I had, I only moved that unit, everything fit in that unit wall to wall and floor to ceiling but apparently my stuff grew in their truck and I had not cubic feet. They moved my life .. I had everything I owned in there care to deliver it safe and sound, so I thought.They do not care one bit that my stuff is missing and damaged.  I will never use this company or anyone affiliated with this horrible company ever again. It's hard to trust a company that moves your belongings across the states and this one is careless with your priceless items. When they store your stuff for you it's not in your own unit or room, but it's in a open wear house with everyone else's. This is how they also had other people's belongings in my lot, no telling how many people out there are missing their stuff as I had to tell them on several items that it was not mine and they set it aside and took it with them.  I did received someone else's side bed rails, not mine, so my entire sleigh bed set is useless as someone else out in this worlds has received mine and I have there's. I can't stress enough how bad this company is .. Do NOT use this company unless you want to have missing, stolen and broken items with no sympathy or remorse for their customers and how they operate a horrible dishonest company and screw honest customers out of their hard earned money!!I finally settled for less then $200 to finally be done with this whole experience and after several months of waiting for this check or a call back from all my messages I get told that if I remove my review they will give me a little more money .. REALLY?? Now I know where their bad reviews are going, they are paying people to remove them!!RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY!!

  6. Moving experience.

    My salesperson was very nice and responsive to my needs. I did ask that someone should come out and verify my load. She said it was not necessary that at most it should not exceed 20% more if I had miscalculated my items which was an acceptable cost to me. Day of move the movers were 5 hrs late and only two showed up for the first 2.5 hrs. then two more came. They were hard workers but after all was said and done we finished loading at 1130pm. Then I was told (after loading) that my price was more than double my original quote!!. YIKES!! On delivery day they were 7.5 hrs late and were already tired. I had to help offload and carry at least 25% of my load.And several items received significant damage. They unloaded everything into the garage and living room then said they were too tired and would return in the morning. Well.. 2:30pm they show up 1 driver and two day laborers!! At this point I had already moved most things so that we could walk through the house. I have to say that this is the worst moving experience ever, and I have moved cross country 4 times in my day. I called the company to relate my disappointment only to be told that the mgr was out for two weeks!! My recommendation..  Hire Bekins or United or mayflower. These smaller companies subcontract the OTR drivers who do not care about your timelines or your items, and this company does not take any responsibility for any inconveniences they cause along the way. Never again.. I will hire pack mules before I would use this company.. They are not professional or accountable.

  7. Very punctual, very sincere.

    I found America’s choice moving extremely punctual when they were moving my stuffs. Follow up and work management of them were very scheduled and that impacted the entire work to make it finished on time. Despite of being extremely fast they managed to make an injury free relocation. Impressive I guess. Thanks a lot America’s choice moving and thanks to their crews.

  8. Yeah! Moving can be easy!

    America's Choice Moving & Storage was GREAT. If you're thinking of using movers, I definitely recommend them. My husband and I moved from LA to New Mexico, and they handled everything (including my PIANO) with care and professionalism.For most of setting up the move, I dealt with Amy, and she was super helpful and nice--it was awesome! She worked with us and waived fees here and there where she could (for example, the piano), and made clear that if we had any questions at all, just to let her know. We were packing all of our own boxes except for a big heavy antique mirror, the piano, and a few lamps. Amy waived fees for packing the lamps & mirror and made sure I knew that the mandatory insurance only would cover the boxes they packed.  She really held our hand every step of the way.  I ask LOTS of questions because I don't like surprise information, and Amy explained everything. When moving day came, the team who arrived were SO INCREDIBLY fast! They were running behind because the job they'd had that morning was more than twice as big as they'd been told, but Eddie was super communicative with me the whole day to keep me posted on their ETA. Once they arrived, they packed up our entire house (a 2 bedroom) in an afternoon. While they were working hard to get our stuff packed up, we were drinking champagne at our neighbors' house. THAT's why to hire movers ;-)Once our stuff arrived in New Mexico a little over a week later, the men who did the unpacking were super courteous and professional as well. And, ta da!, nothing was damaged. The one tiny thing I'd say America's Choice could do better is the tracking of inventory. Every box or piece of furniture that was ours had a little numbered sticker (from basically a roll) on it, and the inventory list was hand-written by the foreman the day of the move. I've had other companies use special bar-coded stickers for everything which they scan, and it seems a little bit more thorough. BUT, if you're a thorough person (like we are--we number our boxes & have a list of them handy when the movers drop off), you don't really have anything to worry about.Definitely recommend!

  9. They can make anything possible.

    Moving house is always stressful but Amy from America’s choice moving was great. She came to give a quote which was well within our budget then stayed in touch as we decided a moving date. On the moving day, they arrived on time as they promised and loaded the van quickly and cautiously. Amazingly they fitted everything into a large truck which I thought is not possible and needed to leave few old items, but they made in happen. We reached our new property within the allocated time and everything was quickly unpacked. Nothing was damaged or broken. I would thoroughly recommend America’s choice moving for their absolute professionalism.

  10. Awful experience.

    It was a nightmare from the moment the contract was signed . No one would return a call , they charged us 2000 over the price on our contract with a note on our contract that said the price would not exceed the price agreed on. They put our things in two trucks and they were delivered three days apart ?! When the second truck finally Arrived they sent one man to unload so we had to help them. Ridiculous was the whole experience so run run run do not use these guys!! I'm still waiting in a return call. Damage to lots of my things as well, just can't believe people treat others like this .

  11. Extremely Happy Customer.

    I wanted to wait until I received my delivery before I wrote my review, and I can't express how thankful and grateful I am for everyone in America's choice. Amy my representative went through everything in detail with me, and I drove her crazy with questions every day probably every hour! She went through my inventory with me in detail explained any possible extra charges since I was so skeptical hearing about moving companies that quote you one thing and bump up the price when the movers arrive. She gave me an exact price for what I have and I did end up adding some more boxes last minute which I paid for since it wasn't on the original estimate. It was a difference of maybe $50 or $60. Amy had me sign the contract and send it back so everything we talked about was in the contract I really felt there was nothing I was unaware of. She included packing my flat screen TV what's the guys did an amazing job it arrived in the exact same condition. Eric and his crew were very friendly and helpful, they disassembled my bed and dining table very carefully and the crew on delivery put it all back together.
    The guys on delivery were also great, I actually ordered a new chandelier that arrive the day before they got there and they were kind enough to put it up for me which was really sweet of them since they didn't have to! delivery was about a week and a half which is exactly what Amy estimated. I really was a nervous wreck and everyone at America's choice made it an easier and better transition for me. Thank you guys and I will be recommending you all :).

  12. Stolen Items at Warehouse.

    This is our first time using a moving company. We were very trusting and that was our mistake. Our furnishings were placed in storage during our relocation from Calif to north Carolina, until such time as we were able to purchase a home in NC. We'd been told originally that when we were able to schedule delivery to our new home, it would be a matter of 2-3 days before it was scheduled. Wrong. It took ten days before they were even able to schedule our move, when then took another week. Items we'd packed, and which were inventoried, were then missing from our delivered load. Calls of complaint netted us nothing, after going through the paperwork we could total thousands of dollars in lost items. After going through the claims process, $104.98 was offered us. After accepting this offer, reluctantly, and having the paperwork notarized and returned to the claims management company, seven weeks have passed and still no reimbursement. Calls to America's choice moving are useless, staff is not only unsympathetic, but unprofessional as well. Calls are not returned, as promised. Buyer beware!

  14. This company is a Fraud and the owner is in Jail.

    STAY AWAY.THIS IS A FRAUD
    The move cost 4 times then what the quoted and then what little items we did recieved were all broken and crushed or missing and they tried to give us others peoples stuff. I went to the companies office today in Van Nuys and found it to be an old broken down house by a bounce of Pawn and sex shops. An old mexican man that was there said in perfect english that this was his house, when I showed him the contract from America Choice with his address on it he stopped speaking english and only knew spanish. I called LAPD and they can out and off course both offiers both spoke spanish (very nice) and I found out that this was the father of the guy who ran America Choice moving and his son is currently in jail in Los Angles and that the company is shut down. If you call the phone number on the website the same ladies that do the quotes and lie and hang up with you still answer the phone and will do a quote for you. When I called the phone number and asked the lady for the address of there business she gave me the same address of the house that I was standing in front off, then when I told her that she hung up the phone. This company has an expired DOT number and they have one 26 foot truck and they rent storage units around the Van Nuys area and throw your stuff in them. Please stay away they have a beutiful website and it's a total bait and switch. The ladies who anwser the phones change there names all the time becuase I can tell by the same voices. STAY AWAY I spent 10,000 dollars with this scamming bunch.

  15. Worst Moving Experience Ever.

    STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE EVER!! I have never been so appalled by a company's service and I've moved over 10 times. I hired America's Choice Moving and Storage (ACMS) from Los Angeles, CA to Dallas, TX.Delivery occurred yesterday by a different moving company than ACMS. When the movers arrived, they were missing three key items in my inventory, including my BIG SCREEN HDTV. To add to the sting, I was charged extra money for it to be specially wrapped and packaged at time of pick-up. I should have been notified immediately that these key items were missing. Showing up to my place without notice they were missing and without them is completely unacceptable. The movers documented that they were not given these 3 items at time of pick-up in Los Angeles. ACMS had no response as to why they weren't in storage and delivered. I was given the run around that maybe they were lost or misplaced because my belongings were in storage. They stated they would try and look for my belongings. Why would movers leave without all my items on the inventory and without explanation as to why they are gone in the first place?! Moreover, paying full costs for an incomplete move is unsatisfactory and unacceptable. After speaking with a rude representative yesterday, she referred me to the Claims Department. I spoke with the Claim Department and was told I cannot make a claim until they have officially stated they lost all the items or they are broken. What I was just told by the representative was wrong. Not surprisingly. This is one of several instances where communication has lacked on ACMS's part. If I didn't call or email them, I would not have been notified of pick-up, delivery, etc. The representative said it wasn't their fault I called them to get the information. She proves my point. I wouldn't have to call and email you if you contacted me like you were supposed to!! No notification of missing items, especially major ones, is just another way ACSM has displayed terrible customer service. No one at ACMS thought at time of pick-up - hey we're missing three major items - maybe we should see why and get information from the customer to look for them or let her know they're broken or lost??!!Anytime I have asked to speak to a head manager or CEO of the company, I'm always told none is available. Not one person is available to speak to me about a mistake on your part?? I highly doubt that. BTW I see the business owner David B only responds to positive Yelp reviews. I highly encourage you David B. to respond to negative views.  An apology for our terrible experiences would also be nice. It would show basic customer service skills on your part. I have yet to ever receive an apology from anyone for any issues I've had. Please also free to contact me as I'm always told you are never there when I call and I would like to rectify this issue immediately.It's interesting to see how many terrible  Yelp reviews they have received the last few months. My pick-up was in March. If the other reviews had been posted before, I would NOT have picked ACMS as my moving company. Every other bad review is similar to my experience as well - under estimated quote, lack of communication, etc.Do yourself a favor and pick another moving company. You wont regret it..like I do now.
