  1. Disappointing.

In March 2017 I hired Armour Van Lines to move furniture and boxes of household items from Montreal to St. Philippe, N.B. During the move, three pieces of furniture were damaged beyond repair, and one piece of furniture was even left outside in the snow overnight! When I contacted Rick, the Armour employee in charge of the move, he sent me a claim form to fill out. I immediately filled out the form, claiming $600. for damages, and attached photos of those damages, as he requested. Thereafter, every time I contacted him, he assured me that he had given the form and photos to the claims department, yet they never got back to me (I have photos, and provided them, of all the damages, but there is only room on this site for 2 photos). After several attempts at getting this issue resolved over a period of eight months, I contacted the Better Business Bureau. They also made several attempts to contact the moving company, but were unable to get a response from them. I would NOT recommend this company.

  2. Good customer Service.

I had great experience with Armour Van Lines. We moved from SF, USA to GTA, Ontario. Overall it was great experience and they responded to each and every calls / mails promptly. Initially I had few hiccups with dispatch team, however that did not bother me much as the Person with whom I was coordinating at Armour Van Lines ( Rick) made sure to keep me posted with the progress update and delivery schedule. I would definitely recommend them.

  3. Not Trustworthy.

Would not recommend these people..more so stay away! Quotes provided kept changing citing errors made. When men finally came to pick up items they raced thru labelling the boxes and when questioned assured they do this all the time and would be no problems. When items arrived stickers were missing off boxes and others had multiple stickers on one box, and the numbered list was not documented correctly so could not match boxes to itemized list. Also ignored boxes marked "this end up" and just put in truck as convenient to them.
Fortunately, had weighed load prior to pick up as their confirmed weight was 800 lbs higher! Said they would reweigh and did correct to my weight without any apology. Tried to overcharge on storage fee from rate quoted (fortunately had e-mails to substantiate everything) saying "oh that was a special on at the time". Then came back again insisting on additional storage month fee despite fact they could not ship goods when requested - their excuse was truck not available so I had to pay and would not pro-rate to no of actual days but had to pay the full month. Guys wanted to deliver shipment at 10:30 pm at night - had to insistently refuse as new neighbours would hate me.
Every time got e-mail confirming final billing due on arrival of shipment there was a convenient calculation error which I had to keep correcting. Then on delivery, billing provided did not match agreed upon final due so calls had to be made.
Fortunately, we were thorough packers so no damage to our items.
Bottom line is they are always trying in unscrupulous ways to grab more money from you than agreed upon, and when challenged say they made an error. Have done 2 long distance moves and in both cases this has happened. Seems movers are unscrupulous. Avoid all of this and go elsewhere.

  4. Please do not use them - they lose and damage belongings.

Everything was great until my boxes were delivered and 4 boxes were missing. Instead of taking care of this immediately and finding them I was told "Also are you sure that 4 boxes are missing? We don't have the same count. As you also noted some stickers fell off however the items arrived." and "Also have you opened everything already and checked everything?". I had taken pictures of everything and counted every box and I knew exactly what was missing.

6 months later they have still done nothing to find my missing belongings and have offered me $75 in insurance for over $2000 worth of goods as well as priceless photos and memorabilia. They don't keep in contact with me, I have to keep asking them for an update. Terrible customer service as soon as something went wrong. Also they banged up my furniture and bike. They won't deliver your stuff until you pay so basically once you have paid there is nothing you can do.

They have lost my photographs and personal art and they don't seem to care to do anything about it.

Please do not use this company, there are many other reviews similar to mine, it is terrible that they take such little regard for people's property and no responsibility for their actions.

If you have been in this situation with Armour vanlines please file a complaint with the BBB and prevent other people from going through what you have!

  5. Terrible.

It would take me an hour to write all that went wrong with this move, but here are some highlights:
    - im 100% sure they inflated the weight calculation. I've moved cross country before and there's no way my weight was what they said.
    - several items broken, movers showed no care. boxes clearly marked "up" on one side arrived sideways, upside down, etc.
    - communication between armour and the companies they contracted the work out to was absolutely abysmal. one disorganized headache after another.
    - the worst part is they simply don't care if you're not satisfied. they have your stuff, and then they have your money, so you're helpless.

    never again!

  6. For masochists only.

I had to move on short notice from Edmonton, Alberta, to Vancouver BC. I made the grave mistake of using these clowns for the move.

From the start, things went wrong. From failing to even ask my name, to having to beg for an invoice, to having the move take 14 days. It's a 12 hour drive!

Their customer service is a joke, and since we are only finally getting out stuff today, I hesitate to even guess how much damage they have done.

    DO NOT USE!!

  7. Do NOT hire Armour Van Lines.

BAIT and SWITCH Pricing. Broke and Scratched EVERYTHING.

Quoted $649. Charged over $3,900 to move 2bd apt 3km. Won't provide weight paperwork price is based on.

The angry men unloading the van literally THREW my belongings down the stairs.

Do NOT hire this company. Fireman movers cost the same and care about their customers.

  8. Ripped Off By Moving Company.

My Experience with Armour Van Lines was a nightmare.
I asked them for a quote and they quoted me on moving a four bedroom house. I told them that was not what I wanted. I wanted a price on moving 300-400lbs. of my daughters furniture. They quoted me $450 which was there minimum on 500 lbs.
That was fine and I gave them a $150. deposit that they wanted. They turned up with 3-4 men to move 300-400 lbs. After they had our goods, they said there was a minimum of 2000lbs. and was charging me $1200.I paid $1000 as I had no choice.
I am doing this review so people will know that I got ripped off by Armour Van Lines.

  9. Review for Armour Van Lines.

Armour Van Lines is an excellent moving company with professional service. They moved my stuff (goods and vehicle) within 3 weeks from Calgary to Montreal at a competitive rates (students can consider their move) and negligible damage. Their movers are punctual and did not take too long to pack our goods and load them onto their trucks.

While my move was in progress, I was constantly in touch with the general manager - Lily Waltz and she never hesitated to answer my queries in odd hours.

Finally, I liked Armour Van Lines the most as they rescued my situation in less than 24 hours. I booked my move originally with Great Canadian Van Lines (a BC based company). Their movers were late and did not arrive on time. Moreover, the company management did not send me any letter of apology. Also, they are much more expensive compared to Armour Van Lines. So, please be watchful before you plan your move with GCVL ( I have published a separate review describing my experience with GCVL).

  10. Excellent Service.

My family recently moved from Ottawa to Calgary and we hired Armour Van Lines as our moving company and we couldn't have been more pleased with the service we received! The customer service was exceptional throughout the entire move, they were very straightforward and professional. Everything we were promised from the start we received, and all of our goods were picked up and delivered on time with very little issues. Our rep was very responsive and made the stress of the move much easier to bear knowing that someone was always there to take our calls and respond to our concerns. On top of that the men who did the delivery were very fast and couldn't have been friendlier! We definitely chose the best company for our move, such a great experience!

    Thank you!
