Avoid at all cost!
I spent a lot of money with them moving within NY state. Multiple pieces of furniture and other items were damaged. Arnoff refused to pay anything and denied my claim because they said their crew denied causing the damage. No customer service and careless movers!
Don't purchase online if Arnoff is the delivery co!
They tried to deliver furniture that I bought from a national company. Shipping fees were included in my large purchase. I did not hire Arnoff directly; they were a sub-contractor for another delivery company, hired by a national big-box store. The boxes were ripped, re-taped, smashed, etc. I said that I needed to see the contents before accepting delivery. I had an email confirmation, received the previous evening at 5:19pm that the furniture would be put in my room a choice, unpacked, debris removed and up to 15 minutes of labor to assemble. THEY DID NOTHING and blamed everything on "instructions from the boss." After speaking with a(RUDE) "boss", I told them that either they do what they were hired for or take it back so back it went. I even said that they didn't have to set it up - just let me see that it is NOT damaged - given the condition of the broken boxes. There was no solution when dealing with these unprofessional workers. NOW, the company wont even admit they took back the furniture. Yes, I HAVE VIDEO of Arnoff handling the broken boxes, carrying the boxes OUT of my house and throwing them back on their truck. I sent the video to the seller. BEWARE who you are buying from online (Wayfair, Samsclub, etc.) if they use ARNOFF - go elsewhere! DOCUMENT EVERYTHING - you will need it!
Destroyed my furniture.
I am appalled at the amount and extent of destruction that Arnoff Moving and Storage, ostensibly a professional moving company, managed to do to my belongings. I never dreamed that a company who's business it is to handle furniture would be capable of taking my dining room set, which has been in my family for generations, and shear off legs, actually break off pieces, and then expect that $90.00 would be adequate compensation for their carelessness and ineptitude.
It was my mistake not to buy additional insurance, but foolishly, I thought that a moving company that had been in the business for so long would actually be able to move me from Malta to Saratoga Springs without doing too much damage. I was so very wrong. As you can see from the photos, Arnoff not only broke the table and the chairs, but also light fixtures and ceramic pieces. According to their contract, they only needed to reimburse me for this damage as if my precious household items were cargo at 60 cents a pound.
Do not under any circumstances use Arnoff if you value anything you own.
Delivered our stuff damaged.
They delivered a box containing swing set parts to our home. The box was broken and the contents were spilling out onto the lawn. They attempted to cover it up by wrapping it in a queen futon cardboard box (not ours)
When I contacted the VP Craig Arnnoff he told me that most customers want their items delivered even if they are damaged. We have no way of knowing if some of the parts are on the back of their truck, lost on the lawn etc.
Don't use them! I see the other review are just as bad..
Arnoff Movers Poughkeepsie, NY.
DO NOT move or store with Arnoff of Poughkeepsie. They damaged over $5000 of our furniture/rug. They delivered our furniture after one year in CLIMATE CONTROLLED storage. Our perfect wool rug was literally crumbling with moth and larvae infestation. The rug was the first thing to come out of the truck and the movers placed it on the hall floor. I immediately told them to carry it back outside BUT the "crumbs" of our carpet and the larvae attached has caused an ongoing moth issue in my BRAND NEW HOUSE! Anyone who has a moth issue knows that these pests multiply. I have been dealing with moths ever since and have found the pink threads from the rug they carried in months later. My sectional sofa that was shrink wrapped when it left us had to be replaced because the dirt or mold stains would not come out. My marble topped buffet was cracked. This is a two inch thick piece of marble. Not easily cracked. I have a Bernhardt Dining Room set and they cracked a frame of one of the chairs so badly that it can not be repaired and the chair can no longer be replaced, which means I have to get all new chairs. I had other pieces damaged, as well as the movers scratching and denting our brand new hardwood floors in several places. I signed a contract that gives the consumer a choice on their liability. But before I signed, I called and spoke to their representative because I was concerned about the $.60 per pound liability. She stated that that is ONLY IN TRANSIT..and further stated that it would be, for instance, if the truck rolled over. I recently received a check from them for $216 for all this damage. I paid $220 for storage each month with them and paid about $3000 for the moves. DON'T MOVE or STORE with them. Their liability basically means that they come get your furniture and can literally THROW it in a dirty, hot storage container and the consumer has NO RECOURSE!! I plan on following through with the FMCSA and any and all other governmental agencies out there. Also, it is a law that they must provide you with their movers dispute settlement program, which they never did.
Thieves and liars.
Do not store your belongings with Arnoff. They employ thieves that will go through your storage cartons and steal what they want. If you complain you will be stonewalled by their "gatekeeper"Denise.File a formal complaint and they will lie lie lie. I guess the lowlife criminals that they hire feel comfortable working for Arnoff,knowing that they can steal customer's items and the crooked company will have their backs. Bottom line, stay away.
Chaotic, disorganized, unprofessional.
Terrible experience. They sent the wrong truck the day of our move. We had to rent a van ourselves and begin to move much of our own stuff. Things were broken and damaged and the company took no responsibility at all for this. They acted as if they would and then nothing. A big disappointment. They appear all professional in the beginning when getting you to contract with them and then they left their workers and the customers with a disorganized mess. Stay away!
Dishonest Arnold moving.
They just take your money and tell you you are just a piece of [EDIT] basically stay away from this company if you want to get robbed .they will not help in anyway it's all about money to them shame on this company .And want to give the names you can't trust Dante, and David they won't return any of your emails any the albany arnoff they make you wait to they get some guys to work to bring your stuff so if you have time to waste call arnoff moving they will make you wait .dishonest company dishonest dishonest dishonest dishonest you can't trust.
Dishonest Late Damaged.
This is the company to select if you want to be lied to. They show up give you an estimate based on what their rep feels you need for boxes to move your belongings. Then when you pack your belongings you find you have more boxes then the rep told you. We were milked for an extra $750.00 because their rep didn't caculate our property the right way more then likely to quote us a better price then other only to call us stated they will not move the property until we pay more. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. Alot of our items were damaged it took three weeks to get our property. The driver told us it would have been on time but he stopped at his brothers house for a few days. They were two days late on delivery. They lacked communication. They are absolutely horrible. Then tried pushing the blame on North American Van Lines which was just as responsible. Do not use either company unless you want late delivery, over charging, damaged property! Almost everything was scratched and many items damaged.
