Ashley Moving and Delivery

Deceptive and unprofessional.

Ashley Moving (US DOT 2594398) was recommended to me for my cross country move from California to New York in August, 2020. I contacted Ashley Moving and asked if 1.) they do moves from CA to NY seeing as they are located in Houston, TX and 2.) if they could deliver my household goods in 7 days after pickup. I was assured in writing that "Delivery window after pickup 4 to 7 days. If you need more time for delivery we can arrange something for you!" and "We provide exclusive white glove service. Door to door. No second or third companies involve. Same crew you see on pick up, same crew you will see on delivery. No transfering your belongings from one truck to another!". After paying a wire transfer deposit of half the estimate, I booked them. However, this is when the problems began. On the day of pickup a company called Speedway Moving showed up, which prompted me to call Ashley Moving to ask if they were the same company -- again I was assured they were the same company. The actual cost of the move increased on the day of pickup. My delivery window was 14 days after day of pickup not the 4 to 7 days I was quoted originally. After multiple phone calls and texts to both Ashley Moving and Speedway Moving, I found out my goods were transferred from the pickup truck to a warehouse, then transferred onto a long haul truck, and then transferred 3 times in the days before delivery because a third moving company in NY (Braha Moving) actually delivered my goods. Not only were several pieces of furniture damaged due to poor packing and wrapping, but multiple items were lost. Neither Ashley Moving or Speedway Moving has responded to my claims request. Lastly, after many requests, Ashley Moving provided me with an inaccurate receipt. Please avoid this unprofessional and unethical moving company. At best they overpromise but underdeliver and at worst they will intentionally deceive you.
