  1. They don't deserve to work - anywhere.

ABSOLUTE WORST MOVING COMPANY IN THE COUNTRY. They know they're the worst also which is why they lie during quotes and are unresponsive once they have your household items. My movers are 11 days late and continue adding charges. The original quote was $4000 to move 515 cubic feet from Seattle to Chicago, IF I ever receive my stuff I will have paid over $5,500. They were 28 hours late picking up my shipment and never once wore gloves or mask even after using my bathroom. I hope they close their doors and no one deserves to go through anything like this. Never ever use this company, even after speaking with Jason Morgan and Costello, I would never let anyone I know use this company. I'm assuming they are so unresponsive because they're so embarrassed by their work and company.

  2. Do Not Hire This Company!!

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!! This moving experience has been absolutely HORRIFIC from start to finish. These people are LIARS, CROOKS and every single box will be delivered smashed/damaged. Please let me save you the headache and heartache – I wish somebody would have warned me.

It started when they showed up to pick up our items – they originally quoted us $2200… which mysteriously became $3700 the day of the pickup!! They told us that we had “way more boxes than we had originally listed”. You can argue with them all you want, but if you don’t pay, they will not pick up your stuff, so what choice did we have.

They told us 7-10 day window for delivery…. this became 18 days later.

They told us they would give us 24 hours notice when they were going to deliver our items. All of a sudden, we got a call from a driver saying they were 40 minutes away. No warning whatsoever. Luckily, we were home.

EVERY SINGLE BOX WAS SMASHED AND DAMAGED. EVERY SINGLE ONE. All of the boxes that had been labeled “fragile” were wedged and smashed under heavier larger boxes. The boxes literally looked like a person had jumped on them or dropped from a roof. I was in complete shock. Multiple items, including our beautiful West Elm couch, were damaged and broken.

But worst of all. We paid for complete “full service” -- assembly and disassembly of our furniture. The day of delivery, ONE MAN showed up – that’s it. Now please tell me how one person is supposed to unload 40 boxes, a mattress and bedframe, and a large white sectional couch?! We were forced to help this man unload all of our items. We did not receive the full disassembly and unloading service that we had paid for. This poor guy showed up and nobody told him that the was supposed to assemble our furniture, so he had no tools with him.

So, we had to drive to Lowes and buy equipment ourselves in order to put our furniture together.

This company refuses to give us any sort of refund. When we explained our experience, they started YELLING AT US and saying that everything was our fault.

Do yourselves a favor – look elsewhere. This is a horrible moving company.

  3. Should go out of business!

This was a horrible experience because of this moving company!! I'll start from the beginning.

As I had a last minute change in plans a month prior to me moving, I hurried to search the internet for a decent quote for a cross country move. I inputed my information on a website that lead for a phone number to call me. On Wednesday, August 30th at 6 pm a Lesly called me from the phone number (636)-305-4105. She was the one who was suppose to set my move date for October 3rd at 4 pm, which is when I was also told they are a full service moving company and I could expect my things 7 to 10 days following pick-up. Great! Things seemed to be going well! WRONG! They were suppose to call me for an inventory list, and when they did I was busy at the time but called back 10 minutes later for them to tell me the lady was busy and would call back tomorrow morning. That next day was Sunday October 1st, which is when Costello called me to tell me he would be at my house tomorrow morning (Monday october 2nd). Unprepared for a day early, I called back and said you guys are not scheduled to be here until Tuesday Afternoon! The response I got was "Well, I'm already in Michigan and in the invoice says Monday or Tuesday. So, we'll see". Not hearing anything and not knowing when they are going to show up at this point, I begin to frantically get all my last minute things done in a rush. Tuesday, October 3rd at 3:40 pm I receive a phone call saying the movers are tied up with another client so now they won't be here until Wednesday morning. Now, I kept my job until the day I left, which means now I'm missing making money for the big move to stay and wait for the movers.

When they finally get to my house Wednesday morning Costello was the head guy to deal with my order. He comes in and starts telling me that he has to charge me extra for packaging my bed, tv, dressers and so on after I was told full service! He asked where did I see this and I said it was right in the contract Lesley sent me. He asked to see and when I went back to my emails I could no longer recieve the original contract as it said please call customer service. He Then told me I was acting crazy and making things up and he treatened to leave before even getting any thing started. When he finally did get started he took the inventory and did not take clear note of it all which eventually made it hard to figure out if I received everything or not. He kept trying to tack on charges, He told me if I wanted to add a mirror it would be $35, when I declined he said it will only be $5. I declined again. Then he added things on the truck "free of charge" after I told him those items didn't have to go.

Fast forward to the following week when I thought I could start expecting my stuff. Not hearing anything from the moving company, I decided to call. No one answered so I left a voicemail with my name and reason I was calling. I recieved a phone call moments later to a lady who greets me by saying "Hello Kimberly.. I do not understand why are calling me. You have a deliver date of the 10th" ( it was 12th) yeah, GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! NOT!!

Now fast forward to Friday October 20th. My mom was in contact with the movers since I have started a new job at my new home. They were in Colorado (move was to Arizona) and I could expect them next week some time. Wednesday the 25 we get news the truck broke down in Colorado and now we have to wait for a truck to pick up my belongings for the remainder of the delivery.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention they tell you they may take up to 21 business days and stress that timeframe. But now when you threaten them their time is coming up they point out the contract actually says 30 business days..

No one can keep their facts straight at this point because now 3 weeks later they are still in Colorado but they should be at my house FRIDAY NOVEMBER 10 after just telling me on the phone they would be here Sunday the 12. They finally arrive at my house November 11th arguing over anything and everything. They acted as though it was their first day on the job as my headboard falls out of the truck as the open the truck door. I later find out that they broke one of my posters in a glass frame. I figured this out by finding broken glass. They completely trashed my frame and never even brought me my poster back. Never mentioned that they broke it and probably tossed it on the side of the road.

When they arrived some of my things were wet and damaged because they were wet. Also found out they lost one of my boxes which contained my Red Nikon D3200 DSLR camera. When I called to inquire about it Costello began blaming me for not packaging items correctly and that I should have purchased extra insurance.

I would NOT recommend this company to anyone! They have HORRIBLE customer service. Their main focus is to make money, not happy customers. These are the worst people I have ever met! I hope they go out of business. I want to add this is a current experience! All dates are of 2017!!

This is no way to do business!

  4. It is a Scam Dont Fall For It!!

My husband and I had to relocate quickly from Illinois to Texas. I spoke with Louis who kept reassuring me that everything would be fine and not to worry. We put down a 200 dollar deposit and got the ball rolling taking the bare min. For a quote of 1200. A week later the price jumped to 1500 Louis stopped answering my calls and my truck "broke down" and they told me they'd "never be able to" move my things because they "don't know when the truck will be moving again" I also found, after more research, they have only 1 MILE TRAVELED THAT THEY'VE REPORTED TO ISDOT" I WAS INFORMED THAT THIS MEANS THEY DONT USE THEIR OWN TRUCKS AND THEY WILL SCAM PEOPLE. THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES FOR RUINING THE LIVES OF FAMILIES TO MAKE MONEY. I still have not gotten my money back. Thank god they didn't move my things (Jesus blocked it). I'm currently reporting them to the BBB.Louis is no longer answering my calls and the people who do answer the phone hang up on you and refuse to give their name. I was initially told I would get my money back and it's been a month and still nothing. If I could give less than 1 star, I would.

  5. Broker Scam.

Luis is a absolute crook! people, do you research and use a reputable company! I am livid because I trusted luis and best in town moving!! these dirtbags without my permission contracted my move to a completely different company - mind you, this new company had completely different terms and agreements. I was quoted $1473 from luis, and I made a $221 deposit which brought my total down to $1252. the contracted company "kangaroo van lines" had different terms and agreement. tried to charge me nearly $2000 on the spot!! i'm calling luis, no answer. nothing! these guys from the new company loaded my items, refused to unload them. the police would not intervene. the entire time, i'm calling luis, and trying to get a hole od anyone from best in town moving so they can vouch on my behalf with this new company, which I did not authorized to be sub contracted out from a contractor! not to mention, the new company didn't even have my deposit. I have not been able to get in contact with best in town moving at all! called nearly 50 times the past few days! the people are crooks! I have no idea where my belongings are, when they will be delivered, and completely broke my bank account for these scammers. buyer beware. please take you time and do thorough research before hiring these sleazy guys!!

This is not a moving company. These are brokers. And your deposit? Yup, goes right into their pocket. Not to the actual moving company these crooks connect you with.

    i am disgusted!

  6. Avoid this company unless you have no other option.

I recently made a move from New Hampshire to South Carolina and contracted with American Van Lines (AVL). AVL sub-contracted the job to Best in Town Moving. The initial pickup was a few hours late, but went well with a few exceptions.

The first exception was a price jump of about $1600 from the quoted price. I expected this would occur due to the way AVL does their initial quoting, so I won't hold this against the company too much. AVL came back and reduced the new quote by about $600. The second exception was the request for a big tip from the driver. It's entirely unprofessional, if a tip is deserved then you'll receive a tip. The third exception was the driver's repeated emphasis that I pay for a cashier's check instead of using a credit or debit card. His reasoning was that the credit card company charges them more than the amount it costs to obtain a cashier's check. Again, this was just entirely unprofessional. Beyond these things, the pickup went smoothly.

I'll note that I packed all of my own goods, and Best in Town Moving only provided blankets and other materials for furniture items which needed to be wrapped. The driver was the same for both pickup and delivery, but the loading/unloading help were different.

The delivery is where things went south. The expected delivery was initially about 7 days. The day before the expected delivery I still had not received any communication from the driver so I had to call AVL. They spoke with the driver who said he'd have to re-schedule. The delivery was delayed by a day or more 4 different times by the driver. Delivery ended up being a week late, and on the last day of the delivery window. To their credit the truck did show up within the 2 hour delivery time frame we scheduled. Upon arrival the driver complained that AVL had been calling him multiple times a day (which I greatly appreciated given his complete lack of communication).

The driver and his helper began unloading the truck, and paid no regard to the contents or fragility of the boxes. Large, heavy boxes were loaded on top of clearly marked fragile boxes resulting in the boxes and their contents being crushed and deformed. Dish/glass pack boxes were dropped (with some breakage) like book boxes. I'm beyond glad that I took the time to pack my own goods, because without a doubt that prevented a lot of further heartache and broken items.

As the boxes started coming in we saw that a lot of them were torn or crushed, including TVs/electronics, dishware, and wine bottles. Most of the boxes were deceptively placed with the damage hidden to the back so we wouldn't notice, but we did. I found a few boxes which I didn't pack and notified the driver, who confessed that the original boxes were so badly damaged they repacked them. Later on we discovered that the top section of three of our bookshelves had been ripped off. I'm assuming they weren't properly secured in the truck. Two of them were left off, and the third had been re-attached. It appears the driver went out and bought super glue, and super glued the top back onto it. Unfortunately I can't try to properly fix it now without destroying it. I'm guessing this may have been the reason for the secretive delays. Again, I can't help but be thankful that I packed things myself. This time around the driver didn't even mention a tip.

All in all the company was devoid of any care or concern for the items they were transporting, and engaged in some pretty sleazy and deceptive practices. I would not ever recommend moving with this company. I'll be pursuing a claim for the damaged goods. If you move with a national van line, verify what organization will actually be executing the move and make sure you look them up before agreeing.

  7. Awful experince.

This company is very dishonest. All my things where damage and stuff missing. They tell you that they do not subcontract out but they do. Stay away from this mover! There are tons of hidden fee! My furniture was all starched up and boxes were destroyed! I wouldn't let them move my garbage from the house to the curb! Beware of this company they are terrible! my furniture sat in storage for weeks!

  8. Received no service.

I signed a contact with Best in Town Moving 6/15/15 for $2776.00 for a move from North Carolina to Arizona and provided a down payment of $555.20. I scheduled my move for 8/20/15 or 8/21/15. They advised they would call me 1-2 days prior to my move date. Best in Town Movers never called. I called their facility 8/21/15 (800-817-9303) numerous times without an answer. Finally, Justin the Logistics person answered the phone and advised me they were in the process of moving their office. He gave me his cell phone (954-496-56**) and promised that he will arrange my move for 8/22/15. Yet again no call no show. I called the office, called and text Justin with no response. After calling for several hours someone answered the phone and told me they will not be doing my move without any explanation. This has been they worse service I have ever had. The have failed to refund me my deposit or even give an apology. I had to be out of my home that following weekend and had to contract a new mover at the last moment. I had to pay an extra $1019.40. I believed Best in Town Movers should pay me the extra out of pocket cost and my refund of my deposit.

  9. I have a lot of fondness for these guys.

I have to relocate across USA every few years for my job. My last move was from Lodi, NJ to Atlanta, GA. I hired Best in town moving because I can’t deal with the stress of having to relocate on my own. I have to give credits to them- their work was impeccable. Everything was packed perfectly and loaded onto their shiny new vans. I understand that this company hasn’t been in business for too long but they definitely are no novice. They provide services that are outstanding. All my stuffs reached Atlanta safely and on time. What else can you ask from a moving company?

  10. The name itself is a brand.

Best in town moving is seasoned professional in the field of moving people's belongings from one place to another. It is no surprise that I hired them for my move from Lodi, NJ to Brooklyn, NY. I have always wanted to live in NY but my friends always told me how expensive the city is. Thankfully, I don't have to scout for cheap furniture since Best in town moving has successfully moved all my furniture to my new apartment in the heart of Brooklyn. Whether all my stuffs fit into my apartment or not is a whole different issue. For now, I highly recommend Best in town moving, their brand is unbeatable.

  11. Please Read - do Not Use This Company.

I have never written a review before but I felt compelled to warn future customers after my experience. I have formally filed a claim with the company and a complaint with the Department of Transportation so I am very serious about these allegations. A brief list of my complaints against the company are as follows.. 1. Loss - After opening boxes filled with personal items, I realized that my appraised $800 antique pearl necklace had been stolen. 2. Damage - After the movers assembled my bed and left I realized that my box spring was stained and soaking wet. 3. Delay - My pick up date was 5/29/2015 and my belongings were not delivered until 6/22/2015 (Yes, 25 days later) 4. Overcharge - My original quote was $1050, however upon pick-up I was charged for packing fees ($128) and fuel surcharge fees ($101.28) even though these were not included in my quote and the company was well aware of the expected distance/fuel expenses and had a detailed inventory of my items. Both charges should have been accounted for in my quote.   5. General complaint - Both my pick-up and drop-off were subcontracted to Preferred Relocation Interstate Moving without my knowledge or approval. During drop-off the 13' moving truck got stuck under the 12' bridges of Lower Wabash Avenue causing significant damage to the bridge and truck (I informed dispatch of the height restriction via phone and writing twice). Then the drivers asked for a "generous tip" since they would be held responsible for the damage to the truck. Due to the significant delays in my delivery, I spoke with members of the company 15 times and the level of disorganization was astounding.

  12. Do not reserve!!

First off they are very nice before you reserve the truck & then become very unprofessional. I scheduled a move a certain day & it was pushed back once. Then the second time the driver didn't make it to the storage on time even though I specifically stated that the storage closed at a certain time. I then put two & two together. These [EDIT] kept stalling because they had another move & wanted to do both at the same time. They refer to it as the piggyback discount. I agreed to the move anyway only to have them call while at the storage to charge another $1,000 for 5 boxes that I "didn't" mention. I most definitely did. Long story short I cancelled! Do not recommend them at all!!

  13. Very Very Very Poor.

Do not use this company! They over charge you, plus they do not explain what other charges they can charge you.You can never get a hold of anybody and when you do leave a message, they never return a phone call. This is the worst moving company. Be aware I'm in the process to sue this company. Plus they will not delivery our things because they claim we did not pay half, and we did..And we sent proof of the amount we paid.If and when they do delivery our things if there's any damage to our things. Watch best in town moving company!

  14. Highly Recommended!

My parents needed to move closer to me, so I was looking for a good and affordable moving company. My friend recommend Best in Town Moving. Mary at the office was able to assist in providing all the information and answered my many questions. Mark and his crew arrived on time and helped to wrap valuables including furniture, pictures and appliances. Thanks! Highly Recommended!

  15. An Amazing Service.

I was amazed with how simple this company made my last move. The communication over the phone with their sales rep Michael was great. He listened to all my moving needs and advised me how to make this move easier and more efficient. The team of Best In Town Moving was very careful, very professional and fast. they actually made a long distance move look pretty ordinary which proved that Best In Town Moving is a great company.
