  1. Breach of Contract.

We got our first moving estimate for Texas to Las Vegas from this company by phone for $1995 and an email confirmation on 11/2/2014. Pickup of our household goods was 11/17/2014. Delivery was 12/6/2014. The estimate was based on what we told them we had and we asked for someone to come out and assess our move, but they didn't. We went around and counted our goods and measured everything and the estimate was raised to $3569. When the driver came to pick up the goods, he adjusted it again because he said the cost was more based on the footage. Now the price was $5438. I paid all but $2380 which was due by postal money order or cash upon delivery. I disputed my charge, and the Operations Supv took off $380 and said to give the driver $2000 upon delivery. He never told the driver about the change and the driver would not unload unless we paid the $2380. I only had $2000 in postal money orders and this was already after the banks closed. This truck had delivered 5 other loads and we were last he said. Driver said he would stay overnight and call in morning. I called Best Moving and asked them to straighten this out. Operations had gone home and they could not reach him. I asked for Supv. who said he would try to reach Operations Supv. After several calls back and forth, they said I was correct and only owed $2000 and they would advise the driver in the morning which they never did. The driver called me in the morning and said the only way I could get my household goods was to rent a U-haul truck and meet him in the parking lot of the Palace Station Casino because he refused to bring his huge semi back to our apartment complex. I rented a 10 ft U-haul for an additional $100 plus gas and mileage. I am disabled and had to hire my granddaughter and boyfriend to drive the U-haul truck. They went back and forth with 2 1/2 loads. The original driver took off and did another load and left his second driver to unload the semi in the parking lot and at the apartment with the kids. U-haul said we used approx. 300 sq ft and were charged on the original paperwork for 900 sq. ft. so I feel I was overcharged. Also, they delivered items not ours and a lot of my stuff was broken. We did not file a claim with them because my wife and I are senior citizens and almost had nervous breakdowns over this move. I am a disabled Veteran with severe PTSD and COPD and could not help with this move except to supervise unloading at the apartment. This company lied to us from the beginning. After our move, we read reviews on the Moving Reviews site and were horrified by what we read about this company. We are not the only ones who have complained and my wife has emailed with several of the reviewers. I don't feel I should have had to get the U-haul. To me, they breached our contract with that. I feel they took advantage of senior citizens who were disabled also. The customer service was non-existent in Operations because they never answered their phone and there was no way to leave a message. I kept calling back Sales to handle the problems and they said Operations was separate and actually in Houston. This was a horrible experience. The packing was horrible. The breakage and scratching of furniture is all on pictures. I didn't file a claim because I only get 60 cents per item according to their contract. I don't know what you can do about them, but someone needs to do something about how they take advantage of people. I should have read the reviews before I hired them, but I didn't have much choice for movers from Hallsville, TX to Las Vegas, NV.
