  1. 40' Container Shipment from Wisconsin to France

    I highly recommend Blue Horizon shipping based on our recent experience.

    Here’s why:

    We needed a 40’ container to move a race car and its spare parts plus four crates of household goods from Antigo, WI 54409 USA to France. We contacted a number of moving companies without getting anywhere. When we finally found Blue Horizon shipping we received great support from Michelle Gold who was our sales representative. She found the 40’ container, which is not an easy task given the international situation. The container arrived as promised. This was quite important as we were on a tight timeline. Late arrival at the French port might have resulted in significant duties and taxes.

    After the container arrived at the U.S. port of origin David Rico took over. The French bureaucracy is famous for being difficult to navigate. Documentation requirements are rigorous and you need to find the right balance, not too much but just enough for the French authorities. David's expertise was invaluable and our goal was met four weeks ahead of the deadline.

    Once the container was processed by French Customs David’s local contacts did an excellent job.

    The cost was reasonable and well worth the money.

    If you contemplate an international move I recommend that you don’t look for the lowest price considering the costs of a failed project.

    On a scale of 1 to 10 I give Blue Horizon Shipping a 10.

    Blue Horizon Shipping helped my daughter move a Studio Apt. from Long Island NY to Toronto Ontario. They're expertise in cross border moving was greatly appreciated as we had no idea of the process involved. They provided courteous, professional service from the first phone call/email to final destination. I highly recommend Blue Horizon.

    We had a great end-to-end service from Blue Horizon Shipping with our move from South Florida to the UK.

    The level of communication was excellent, they always responded promptly to any questions we had and easily switched the date of the service when our house move date changed.

    The packing and delivery service was fantastic. The guys who came to the house at both ends were friendly and professional. The packing was carefully done and everything arrived in good condition, no breakages or damage.

  4. Terrible do not use this company

    David Rico has not responded adequately to my emails & photographic evidence of severe damage to my furniture shipment that arrived in the UK. It was not protected properly & now is no longer replying to me. I just want him to pay for the damage to be professionally repaired. His attitude is you should have taken out additional insurance!

    It was incompetency that caused this issue & it could have been avoided if proper padding had been used.

    Phenomenal experience with Blue Horizon!! I was so nervous finding the right international movers for my big jump from Miami to London and had

    spoken to some super sketchy options---So glad I went with them vs. the others. (For reference, they seemed the most reputable with A+ BBB accreditation and an up to date federal maritime license.)

    The price was fair, they were super responsive + the movers involved were all super sweet guys, professional, and quick (even though my condo in Miami gave us a tough time about the truck parking).

    All of my items, including a heavy, floor-length mirror, arrived in perfect condition from the US. I will definitely be recommending them again to anyone in the South Florida area who needs awesome international movers for a fair and reasonable price!

  6. International move from ATL to Germany.

    I usually don't write reviews, but I hope I can help someone with their decisions, the way other reviews helped me:

    I was very nervous about shipping our things overseas, because our items also had an emotional value, which I knew if they break, I couldn't replace them. My biggest thing was finding a company were I get the best deal (not the cheapest) for the quality I was looking for. After doing lots of research and being contacted by numerous companies which of course were trying to win me as a client, I went with Blue Horizon, and these are the reasons why:

    Michelle Gold was very professional and informative on the phone. Didn't seem pushy but very authentic. The price they offered was the best, the offer matched our needs and I read many positive reviews. I was always able to contact them if I had questions and they were always available and quick to reply. A packing crew came on the day we scheduled. They were professional, knew what they were doing, patient because I asked a million questions, and quick. Considering that a lot of parties are involved in this process, things can go wrong, but they didn't. We. received a tracking number, a week before the arrival we were contacted by the German company who handled our shipment here in Germany. I was still very nervous, but once we received our things, I was really impressed.

    I have to add that our container was x-rated after it arrived. I was told by the German company that this is a normal procedure (apparently every second or third gets checked) and would cost around 250 Euros. Due to this our container had to stay at the port an additional 3 days. Every day "parking fee" costs 50 Euros. This additional cost of around 400 Euros was not in the cost estimate. During my research I did read upon it and therefore wasn't surprised. Another thing the German authority needed here was some paperwork 1) proof that we lived outside the EU the past 12 months 2) a current proof of residency in Germany from the city hall 3) copy of passport. We also turned in our tax report as well statement that we sold our house. All in all I can say I wasn't expecting such a perfect delivery, but everybody involved was very nice and helpful. Our things were delivered in excellent condition. We went with a full container and it took a total of 5 weeks from door to door. I recommend this company highly.

    Great service! Blue Horizon Shipping Inc are professionals and have a very good attitude. They all are extremely polite and also respectful. They are fun to work with. Even though maybe a really demanding experience for me (relocating lots of items) they saw to it I continue to be calm whatsoever times. I will certainly call Blue Horizon Shipping Inc once more for my next relocation.

    Never had a problem or incident shipping with Blue Horizon. They have always taken great care of my packages, I sent several packages from work that absolutely cannot have any damage or delays. Because my final products have already been paid for and the last thing I need are complications on delivery. I have a very thin line when it comes to making sure my work is delivered and they always satisfy it.

  9. Incompetent and Dishonest.

    Do not use this company for international moves. They send local movers who have no clue about moving freight by ship and securing your belongings. They did such a poor job of documenting our contents that we had to pay an extra $2000 in Customs fees on the delivery end. The people who run Blue Horizon will tell you what you want to hear and are not honest with what they promise. We were told 7-8 weeks, but it took over 3 months. We were told that they were going to pull our container aside to secure the contents with a strap or rope, but they did not. We were told that the paperwork would be acceptable by Australian Customs, but it was not. Either these company has no clue how to legally and efficiently send freight overseas, or they are dodgy and just taking your money for doing the absolute bare minimum. Go elsewhere!

  10. Worst experience ever.

    If I had the chance to put 0 star I would, they are super rude and messy, the walls in my house are all black prints now, they refused to protect the hardwood floors , they didn't do a good job estimating how much we need to fit our furniture, several pieces were left behind, the driver of the truck insisted on closing the doors because he didn't want to wait, complaining about the time he waited , they didn't have appropriate planning from main office through their staff , bottom line : I would never recommend them to anyone.

  11. U-haul or Blue Horizon?

    Was going to rent a u-haul and do it myself
    But my parents insisted I hire a pro
    So I did call Blue Horizon
    So happy I did.

    I used Blue Horizon Shipping for my shipping needs from Miami to London I had 20’ container with door to door services with full packing for $6945.00 and was very happy the packing was great everything arrived in perfect shape highly recommended.

    Thanks guys for an amazing thought out end to end.From the moment I reached out to Blue Horizon Shipping, I felt that these guys know what they're doing and provided an excellent service for my move from the USA to Germany.

    The packaging was so thorough it could have been dropped from a C-130 and survived intact - and I am talking about Waterford Crystal, framed pictures, and an Apple MacBook Pro laptops.

  14. Very bad experience with a careless company.

    I am very disappointed with the whole relocation process, first the extra cost about U$1.500 (which I understand now why) but it will be better to know before signed the contract, in that case my company will pay it and not me from my own pocket. Now about ten days after the delivery my disappointment and frustration is even bigger, on top of the damage of the cushion of two chairs of the dinning set, several of our labelled "delicate or fragile" objects were not only broken, they were completely crushed, including all our ceramic and porcelain, many kitchen small appliances and some of our portraits, even my daughter's bike from wheel and breaks were damage. Unfortunately in our rush receiving all the boxes, we did not count them to be sure to receive all and we have missing two boxes one with kitchen supplies and other with shoes. I do not know who is responsible for the damage and losses if Blue Horizon in USA or Conroy here in New Zealand.
    I signed a contract with Blue Horizon, I already sent a complaint to Blue Horizon and it was complete ignored.
    Base in my experience I can't recommend any of these two companies, very disappointed!

  15. Blue Horizon shipping.

    Dan Cohen and David Rico were very good and informed me for several years prior to the actual international move. They answered questions at every step of the process. The only drawback is they do not accept credit cards for full payment which seems to be the industry standard.

    The movers arrived on time and worked very quickly and efficiently.

    Their contract provider in DR, LG Movers also worked very efficiently. I highly recommend this company. No complaints whatsoever.
