  1. Move from Toledo to Kansas city

    HORRIBLE service!!! They gave a three day window for pick up the day I signed my contract with them. They were after me every minute and made sure I made the payment in 10 min of agreeing to proceed with them. They (Jay) gave a three day did not communicate at all. I called them on the second day of the three day window as I heard nothing from them. He said the dispatchers would arrive the next day. I took off from my work in the hospital and stayed home waiting for them. When they didn’t show I asked for updates and they transferred my call to a dispatch department who had no idea where the driver was and kept stalling me saying that the driver was on his way and later at a weighting station only for no one to show up all day. Next they said someone would come to my place the next day between 8-11am, and at 10 am next day I called them and they changed it to 12-4pm and later 4-7 pm. When I called Jay he stopped answering my calls. This is a SCAM, I would never go with them ever again. Not sure if the dispatchers will ever arrive and if they do if they will even deliver my goods. It was a waste of time, a lot of mental stress with a company with zero accountability. PLEASE STAY AWAY

  2. Beware!!

    It has now been over a year since my move. They were dishonest when quoting my move, charged me an additional $500 when they arrives, and then tried to overcharge me another $800. When they finally delivered my belongings over three weeks late, there were multiple missing boxes, missing pieces of furniture, smashed glass, and EVERY SINGLE piece of furniture I own was scratched, damaged or broken. After filing a claim for damages, they kept changing their claim policy or saying "the check is in the mail." They have repeatedly lied to me. After almost a year since the claim, I have not received a single penny for thousands of dollars worth of damage. For those considering this company, I'm happy to share all of my email exchanges and the 100+ photos of all of the damages.

  3. Rogue Mover Scam - do Not Use.

    DO NOT USE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. This company is the very definition of the "rogue mover" scam as defined by the FMCSA. See: https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/protect-your-move/red-flags

    How do I know? I, unfortunately, fell for it. When I asked for a quote for my move from FL to DI, they gave me an estimate of about $6000, with a pretty hefty "manager's discount" to get me to sign. Stupid me fell for it.

    After the independent contractor they hired picked up my stuff, he packed up my stuff and then told me -- after all of my stuff was loaded -- that no, my move would actually cost nearly **$12,000**. Apparently the 735 cu ft of projected space that they told me would cover the list of items I gave them (another red flag, but I had just thought they waived the in-person check due to COVID) was WAY off (which I, someone who has never moved before, shouldn't expected to know), and the actual space my stuff took up was about double that number.

    Trust me.. I double-checked the list of items I gave them vs. the packing list and there was no material difference. And I definitely did not have *double* the amount of stuff.

    Also, despite the contract very clearly saying they accept 50 percent of the remaining balance via check on pickup, the guy who picked up my stuff (who, again, was an independent contractor) said that he would need 70 percent in cash. Which I did not have on me (especially since it was 70 percent of the now doubled fare). So I had to "settle" for paying a huge portion of it by credit card, which racked up another $350 in fees.

    In short, this company is a scam. DO NOT USE THEM unless you want to get scammed too.

  4. Stay far away from these movers.

    The experience with this company was worse than terrible. First, I shouldn't have expected too much since the move was such short notice, but they made promises and arrangements the could not keep. They owe me money for damages and days after initial promised date. I filled all the appropriate paperwork with notarized documents and waited the appropriate amount of time after that was filed. After that time period past, it was crickets. I emailed them several times requesting updates and never received a response. It is now 7 months after they finally delivered and I have still heard nothing. Of course, the initial phone call was great, explanations about everything that was going to happen and so on. After that, it was downhill. My schedule was tight as I was leaving the country for a while and needed to be packed and moving before I left. I made flight arrangements and rental cars based on the information they supplied about being able to pickup my stuff for storage. On the appointed day, I headed to the storage area to meet them. They called on my way and said they were running late..then later..then even later until finally they let me know they would not be able to make it. I was scheduled to leave the next day to my next location. Fortunately, I was able to make arrangements to change my flight, my hotel, and my rental cars without a fee. They assured me they would pick my stuff up the next day. However, the next day, it almost happened again but they finally arrived to pick up my stuff. They gave me a delivery window which was fine for my needs. I will make the story short by saying they missed that delivery window by a month. I would call them on a regular basis to get information about when they were going to deliver and it was a run around each time. They would get back to me or they were waiting on the driver or they were waiting on a truck. When they finally were ready to deliver they were to call me. They did but the driver hardly spoke English so I never understood that they were delivering on the next day until my apartment complex called to say that my van was there. It was a holiday, and I had no prep time to get the cash that I knew I would need. Luckily, I was able to get the cash. The movers were nice enough, it wasn't their fault except for when it was. The legs on my desk were broken because they tried to tilt it rather than lift it. The book cases were all falling apart, one piece of furniture was completely destroyed. They had wrapped it up in a furniture blanket but, when I took the blanket off, it all fell apart. There were damaged boxes inside of which were broken dishes and wine glasses. These were not old boxes, they were brand new boxes. Some were obviously crushed. Additionally, I was told that the furniture that they disassembled would be reassembled. None of the furniture was reassembled. In short, the whole move was a disaster. I was a month without my clothes or my furniture. I had to buy an air mattress to sleep on and a jacket for the nights as they got colder. I do NOT recommend using this organization EVER.

    This company responded to another review I filed saying they were upset that my claim hadn't been paid (as well as an excuse about why they weren't paying the late delivery.) However, they weren't so upset as to follow through with paying my claim. They have given me the run around on the phone several times, saying they would call me back and never did. They gave me the extension of someone to speak with but the extension didn't exist. They gave me a new address to file the documentation because the original had been lost. They never responded. Stay well away from Brightline Van Lines!!

  5. Move from Texas to Nevada 12-12-2019.

    Worst movers ever. Ruined/damaged/broke most of our furniture and lost our 70" t.v. Almost doubled the cost of our move while in the process of loading our goods. Have been waiting for them to settle our claim since 12-17-2019. Highly recommend you avoid this moving company andtheir broker US Moving Services. Both companies have been a nightmare for us to deal with. We have reported both companies to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration for poor business practices.

  6. Our recent move.

    Brightline Van Lines are professional scammers. Do not use this company. Worst business experience of our lives. We have filed a claim with the Attorney General of Florida against them.

    Brightline gave us a quote of $2,594.00 for 39 items and 120 medium 3.0 cubic feet boxes. Reviewed this quote with Brightline several times prior to the move for accuracy.

    Upon arrival of Brightline we informed them that we were closing at 3:00pm and had to be out at 6:00pm. They surveyed our inventory & said it would be close but might go over allotted space. Shortly after they said price would be another $900.00. Driver had Manager call us. He said if we didn’t agree to the increase in price they would stop the move. Because of the timing and pressure we felt we had no choice. We signed under duress. Later they informed us the price would be more. After he hoovered over our table and saw our closing statement, went outside to have phone conversation. Came back in he declared the new price to be $7,182.00. Called the Manager back & he said we should think about taking items off the list to decrease the price or go with the whole amount & have everything. He stated that once they received our things at the Warehouse he would review our inventory & give us a rebate. We took 18 (largest of the items) of the 39 items off the list bringing price down to $6,490.60. Then when we reminded them of the boxes at our storage, he added an additional $500 which was already included in the original quote. Since our time was running out & having no one else to move us out within a couple hours, we signed again under duress. We gave the second payment of $4,400.00 in cash to save 10%. They assured us they would deliver to our storage in Georgia on the 16th which didn't happen till the 23rd. We were intimidated and treated badly by all members of this company. We have several people that witnessed their antics the day of the move as well as the delivery day.

    The Manager (now the dispatcher) called to inform us that delivery would be sometime on the weekend. We asked about the rebate & he replied: You are not eligible or it would be already deducted from your final payment. Denied ever saying we would get a rebate.

    4/20/2020 Called Manager for delivery date again. Replied that his driver didn’t show up but was getting a new guy Wednesday that would be out no later than Thursday. Would call ahead when dispatched.

    4/23/2020 Received phone call from mover saying they were in route due to arrive between 3-6:00pm. Called him back at 7:30pm said another hour and reminded us to have the balance in cash. Arrived at 8:45pm in the same unmarked truck. Same two guys who picked up and demanded the cash before opening the truck which is contrary to the original agreement The remaining balance is due upon delivery by Cash, Cashier Check, Personal Check, or Postal Money Order). We complied by giving him the remaining balance in cash.

    Called Manager to explain our bill & ask where our military discount was. Said discount was carried over from original estimate. Asked where it was in contract. Said he couldn’t access our account as it was closed & going by his notes. Asked for his boss’ name & number. Said he is the customer relations Manager in charge. Asked again & said his boss is the owner & refused to give us his name saying he was the CEO would be impossible to reach just like any other CEO of large company. He dismissed us saying we’re done unless you have a damage claim. Refused to give us that information and simply said “We’re done have a nice day” & hung up on us. Tried calling back & he never answered.

    Sent Brightline request of refund & reply by 5/17/2020. No reply to date.

    Unpacked our delivered items at the storage facility, found several broken items & several missing items. Sent Brightline a request for claims form via their website. No reply to date.

    Upon further research we found the owner to be Charlie Ohana. He has owned at least five Moving companies all with numerous similar complaints. We were price gouged by Brightline. Our original estimate was nearly tripled even after taking 18 large items off the list. The estimate was grossly underestimated even after reviewing multiple times. Original volume on estimate was 827 cubic feet. Shortly after arrival it was changed to 847 cubic feet then on the final bill of lading 653 cubic feet was added. An empty 26’ box truck can hold almost 1,700 cubic feet. Our total volume which added up to 1,500 cubic feet by Brightline’s calculation only took up no more than 1/3 of truck. It’s obvious they grossly overinflated our volume but charged us for their calculation. The original estimate of 827 cubic feet was well over the amount we actually had.

    They took unfair advantage of our circumstances being even more amplified by the COVID-19 quarantine being in place. Don't be duped by Ohana or any of his companies. Remember if it sounds to good to be true it probably isn't.

  7. Don’t use them!

    Then, they gave me a date for delivery with less than 24 for us the prepare for it. Delivery day comes.. the truck didn’t fit in the community so they had to charge me MORE to rent a smaller truck, they start unloading and guess what! There’s rat poop on MY SOFA! they tore a leg (completely torn off) off of my dresser, the screws for my kids beds where lost, missing boxes, scratched furniture missing furniture, they RUINED the floor of the rental home we are living in, (dropping furniture left and right) dragging the furniture with no mats or anything under them. Now don’t get me started with the workers ( I swear they went and grabbed 3 homeless people and had them move my stuff). We were so mad when they finished and we told the guy In charge about everything that was Damaged, he tried to put the fault on the “workers” who didn't work for the company (aka the homeless people), as to not Pay them for their whole days work!!

    After all that we submitted a claim and guess how much they are giving us! $198.00 dollars!!

    The flooring and wall repair (oh because the dented and made holes on the walls) was $1,500 dollars!

    I have tried calling them obviously no one answers, emailed them asking to look at the flooring pictures I sent and give us more money and nothing!

    Don’t use this company! I will share my experience everywhere I can! Its a shitty company!

    This was my first experience with a moving company and I am very pleased! 1 bedroom, queen bed, couch, dresser, 2 nightstands and a clunky desk. Along with 20+ boxes. Everything was done professionally and efficiently. The minimum time is 5-hours, and they ended in exactly 5 hours! Nothing was broken or scratched.

    The staff showed up right on time, was extremely polite, worked very efficiently, and took great care of my belongings. Extremely satisfied with the professionalism and customer care from Brightline Van Lines.

    I had a great experience with them. The team was very clean and I felt like I am with the right guys. Carefully wrapped everything and completely reassembled everything they had to take apart. I definitely would recommend to hire. Rates were very competitive also!

  11. I wouldn't even give this company one star.

    A few months back we called asking around for prices to move a 900lbs safe. Amy was nice on the phone but besides that we would never use them again. they came with only two guys and a hand dolly to move our safe. they ended up putting deep scratches on the side and we are still trying to get them to pay for the damage. we sent in a damage report and NEVER heard back from anyone. and we called to make sure they received our email. If you have nice furniture or anything I would not use this company! they never even gave us the $80.00 we put down. we are very surprised they did not break the tile in the house we had already SOLD!! This will either be under my name or Eric Andrews.

  12. I recommend the movers to all!!

    There were two smart guys. They were helpful, sensitive, and highly responsive to all questions and concerns before and during moving day. These two movers remain calm and unruffled, dealing with whatever comes up. They never complain about anything. They did everything with a smile.

    Brightline Van Line’s team arrived on time and worked tirelessly for our move to another state. They were fantastic and took extra care of my things. I am very particular about my things but after working with Brightline Van Lines I can now truly trust them with all my belongings.

  14. I can't recommend this company enough for all!!

    My boyfriend and I moved our stuff from two apartments into a building. Stress less move we ever had. The movers showed up on time and were professional, courteous, careful and efficient. I would book them again in a heartbeat, though I hope I don't have to move because moving is a pain no matter what.

    I hired them to move me few blocks away. They took so much care to wrap everything so that nothing was damaged. They have given so much respect to my mom. They were prompt, fast and very professional. Would hire them again.
