  1. Yikes! STAY AWAY!!

STAY AWAY if you actually hope for movers to show up.

I signed a contract for a local move about 7 weeks in advance. We hired 8 movers, 2 trucks, 10 hours. Total estimate of $4k.

Service was great ahead of time. We texted with questions and they always answered.

Moving day comes- and they are a no-show.

Literally- no one showed up. We called and were told they couldn’t put together a 4-man team, let alone 8 movers.

We scrambled to make a big move by ourselves.

So, if you actually want the movers you hire, choose someone else.

  2. Horrible company -stay away.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS MOVING COMPANY!! They will give you the run-around, lie to you, and not stick to any of their promises. They state they are ‘insured and bonded’ on their website, however will not fix or replace anything that they damage (which was the majority of our furniture in addition to a very expensive wool carpet stair runner). Do yourself a favor and save yourself from the nightmare of working with this poor excuse of a company.

  3. Sham of a company.

Horrible Horrible Horrible!! I had a friend who used this company a few years with good results, so I decided to ignore the awful reviews. BIG MISTAKE! I had the move booked for 2 months and on the day of the move, they didn't show or call. When I called them I was told, Oh sorry, we don't have a crew for you today. They acted like it wasn't any big deal or inconvenience. They finally found another crew who showed up after 2:00. They charged me more than the quoted hourly rate and damaged my brand new house and appliances.

After 6 months of fighting, they have agreed they over charged me, but refuse to refund any money until I sign a non disclosure that gives them complete authority to come back after me for 3x the amount any time they feel like it.

Buyer Beware, this is a complete sham of a company!

  4. Careless and Unresponsive.

I would give negative stars if I could
So many items were damaged (they also packed the house) glass broken, furniture chipped (not just scratched) and wooden furniture broken ..
4 hours late Arriving for moving out. Rude, careless and intimidating crew. Not there until the afternoon, but mad I did not buy them lunch. They actually ‘went on strike’ and sat in the truck for over an hour, did not protect my hardwood floors and damaged them, and even though they don’t move plants..I’m searching and searching for my grandmothers rabbits foot fern - I ask if they have seen it, they will not let me see on the truck - wouldn’t you know I got it when delivered - dead.

My items were in storage for months-and were not in climate control storage as the representative promised
    4+ hours late on delivery
Not having a working truck on move out and late filing for a permit on the way to deliver

I have been trying to file and settle now for over SIX MONTHS. They are claiming the items were already damaged. They don’t want to pay for fixing my washing machine which arrived broken - am I supposed to wait 6+ months to do my laundry?

They did not even try to address damages until AFTER I filed a BBB report.

I’m still dealing with the damages. An ‘inspector’ was sent out, but Bulldog wants my deductible BEFORE I see what the report says, what they will fix and how long it might take. The inspector has not answered my question about whether he has insurance or not. It’s been over 45 days since he was here, and not only am I having the above issues, but cannot get an appointment scheduled.

Smaller items damaged, such as a box of teams of paper, they are refusing to consider and will not add to cover off my deductible. And, how do you dent a heavy box of paper?

My damaged items are due to careless packing: not using quilts on furniture, not wrapping/protecting fragile items properly, cramming the truck so full that boxes with solid pieces of styrofoam surrounding items were crushed, packing another person’s items in the truck caused the team to almost not be able to find my leather couch cushions .. I have missing hats and scarves that have still not been found and I get ‘well we don’t have a way to value those’. The salesperson assured me other people’s items would not be on the same truck.

Other damaged items keep getting labeled ‘extraordinary items’ so they don’t have to fix or pay for them. Or, they say ‘we marked that scratched’ ok, but did it have 1, 5 or 10 scratches, it doesn’t say it was chipped and it has lots of scratches.

This continues to be a very painful experience, and I hope that soon my items will be addressed properly.

  5. Buyer Beware.

We took and paid for insurance through Bulldog was to be protected in the event that occurred. We have waited for over a year to get settlement on our claim for damages that occurred during our move and yet no response from Bulldog. They have sent their own claims adjuster to inspect our damage but apparently didn't like his findings. This occurred over 6 months ago with no follow up since then. Meanwhile, I continue to have to live with damaged goods and pay for storage for things that can't be used. This is only part of my overall bad experience.

Hi Mr. Mahnke, we are sorry to hear things didn’t go as smoothly as you would’ve liked. We were unaware of your claim until 9 months after your move when you finally filed a claim. When you wait that long to file a claim, it takes us time to process it and communicate with your crew to get the facts straight. Through that discovery, we were made aware that you had our team move stuff into a pickup truck and it was taken to private storage. When that happens, you void your valuation coverage as there is no way for us to tell if the damage was caused by us or if it happened in your personal vehicle or personal storage unit. When you move in the future, we recommend you only move your belongings in the moving company’s vehicle if you would like them be covered. Furthermore, please be aware that unless you store your items in the moving company’s storage facility, you will void your coverage as well. Please contact Sandy Taylor if there is anything else we can clarify for you at sandy@bulldogmovers.net

While I can appreciate your attempt to justify you not paying anything towards our claim because of what you think transpired, you need to make sure you state the facts correctly. Yes it is true that Bulldog Movers moved our belongings to a storage unit of our choosing. The fact remains that you packed and moved our goods to that location and eventually moved those goods to our final destination. The only items that were packed on to a small pickup truck were those items that we were forced to move because you did not provide a large enough truck to move them. Furthermore you say this is a violation of the signed agreement and yet this is the first time we have heard this claim from Bulldog. In fact until this posting its the only response I’ve heard from Bulldog in months. Even if this were the case why did Bulldog offer us coverage or even attempt to refund the coverage amount non of which occurred. Finally you say contact Ms Taylor and yet both my wife and I have attempted to do that very thing over and over again. In fact I placed three calls last week and two calls this week to reach her. Both times I spoke with someone in your organization Rubin and Jim and both said they would have Sandy call me. I’m still waiting for that return call from Sandy or anyone from Bulldog until my posting a review. If you care to know the facts from your customer maybe you should try reaching out to me rather than placing the burden on your customers

Mr. Mahnke, you already stated your concerns in your first review. Please feel free to edit that review if you would like to respond to us. Creating a new account to leave a second review is not necessary

I find it very sad that after I made a second post, you accuse me of creating a new account (not true). I'm pretty sure you will see my profile information is the same and there is a char limit. I can see that you're more interested with how your customers post comments on Google then you are with dealing with the damaged goods your customers incurred after using your moving company. I find it appalling that you take money for insurance only to later tell me it's invalid after you sent a claims adjuster all the way to Orlando and you didn't like the results of what your own adjuster found. Only then and through Google reviews did we hear anything regarding the claim.

  6. Employees under the influence at time of move.

Bulldog Movers sent four employees, all of which were under the influence of marijuana based on the strong smell that was pouring out of their truck cab and all over their clothes, for my move. They arrived almost 2 hours late and had I not had to be out of the house that day I would have canceled based on that. The supervisor then coerced me into signing for the cheapest insurance option as he explained to me that the more expensive option was not to cover damaged goods but rather if the truck had a wreck or they caught my house on fire. I stupidly believed him and when they dropped my big green egg and tore a light fixture off the side of my house the company offered me $157 to settle the claim and asked that I sign an agreement to not "disparage" them in writing. There is no way in hell I will sign that and would rather eat the measly $157 to post a truthful review so other people don't have to experience the same issues I did.

  7. Horrendous unethical company.

I was quoted $400 and charged $725. My table was dropped down the hardwood stairs. They would not pay for it. I have missing items. One of the movers asked me out. They were so slow and didn’t get to my new house until 45 minutes after I did. It’s 10-15 minutes from where I moved and I was charged for that time. This was the worst moving experience I’ve ever had.

  8. Do Not Use This Company.

They broke my marble table (before leaving my old house) and told me that they would take care of replacing it. One month later and nothing. They also damaged my dryer and refuse to fix it. If you have questions please email me timstevens911@att.Net. I would be happy to go into detail with how bad my experience is with these jokers.

  9. Smooth move.

Bulldog Movers (operates out of Atlanta, GA) was recommended to me by someone I know who had recently used them for their interstate move. While they were not the cheapest of the quotes I got, they were mid-range. The recommendation weighed heavily in my decision to use them, as did some positive online reviews I read and the excellent customer service I received from their representative (Donna Holland).I booked the move about a week or a week and a half in advance.   I moved a 3-bedroom home across the state of Georgia. The move was priced by weight. My final cost, including valuation (insurance) and 2 mattress bags was approximately $2400. This ended up being almost $400 less than what my estimate said, due to the fact that I obviously overestimated the number of boxes I had so they quoted me based on a higher predicted weight. So a nice "surprise" at the end of the move when I settled up! :)
"Big Joe" and his crew of 3 other men arrived during the time frame I was told. The movers all introduced themselves and were very courteous. They toured my home, asking questions and making sure they knew everything they needed to know. I went over paperwork with the crew boss while the rest of the crew began loading. The loading went very quickly and smoothly.
The movers left and drove to my new residence. The travel time was about 3 hours, which was what had been estimated. The movers toured my new home, asking me where I wanted everything. They were very willing to re-place furniture if I decided I didn't like it in the first spot. They moved my piano without a hitch. The crew boss even made sure the boxes were put in the office closet in a logical order--Christmas decorations in the back, as I wouldn't need them right away (I moved in July) and boxes marked "books" and "office supplies" in the front. That was great!
Throughout the move, the movers were very polite and professional. They had good attitudes. I felt they handled my belongings with care. When I tipped them (individually, with the crew boss getting a little more than the others), they were extremely appreciative.
After they left, I noticed one small nick in my dresser. I feel that is remarkable to have only that one small damage during the entire move!!
I have moved many times in my life, including moves halfway across the country. I have experienced several rude, unprofessional movers. I have dealt with significant damages to belongings with other moves. I have had bad experiences with movers not showing up when they said they would (and in one case, showing up a day early!).
I must say, my experience with Bulldog Movers has been by far the best moving experience I've ever had. I highly recommend them and would definitely use them again. .
