Poor service.
Yesterday, my son and daughter-in-law recently completed a move from Philadelphia, PA to Pasadena CA. Our original contract was with Trinity Relocation Group. We were led to understand that Trinity personnel would complete the move themselves, so we were surprised when Trinity sub-contracted the move to Centurion Movers out of Willow Grove, PA.
On August 4, 2019, Centurion owner Radu and two helpers picked up our furniture and boxes from their Philadelphia address. Radu led us to expect delivery to the Pasadena CA address as soon as August 14. When the shipment failed to arrive on August 14, we began calling to find out when to expect delivery. Many calls were not answered, most not returned, and responses were vague when we spoke to someone. Their customer representative, Oana Popescu, finally told me that the shipment was still in Philadelphia, but would arrive by the end of the month. I said, you mean by the end of August? No, she said, by the end of September. Oh my.
When Centurion Movers quit returning our phone calls, on August 28, we contacted Trinity customer service. We wanted to know, when would this shipment leave Philadelphia? Trinity promised to contact Centurion, but Trinity reported that they received the same vague answers we had already been given.
Finally, on October 2, 60 calendar days after the stuff was picked up, and 35 working days after it was first promised, the shipment arrived in Pasadena.
For reasons unknown to us, Centurion Movers did not complete the move on time, nor did they keep us apprised of the status, even when we began to call them to request updates. We were disappointed with this performance and, for these reasons, cannot recommend this company for any long-distance move.
Horrid and doesn't honor its word or the law.
I moved on (/5/2018
At first the movers were great, very nice and the work seemed to be done in a professional manner. However, they broke the glass table top of my coffee table. The mover told me he would take a picture and the company would have it replaced or pay for me to replace it.
I have no issue with the breakage. Things happen however it turned out they had taken no picture and left the broken glass in my apartment for me or someone else to remove. It was a 32 inch piece of glass and very thick, no way I could move it and they broke it, it was their responsibility to throw out the broken glass.
The company told me later on when I complained they don't throw out trash despite it being as a reasult of their actions.
When we got to the new house they didn't put items where I asked them to so a very heavy TV was just left in the kitchen that they were asked, and agreed to, to move it out to the garage.
They also had me put a glass tabletop in my xcar, because they were concerned about the fragility and despite my reminding them they needed to take it out they did not.
As for the tabletop the company emailed: "So if you can send us pictures of the glass and the table that would be a lot of help and our claims department will process everything and get back to you with a claims number."
How could I take pictures of the lass that was thrown out? They shoudl have been taken by the mover as promised.
In addition thery not only never sent me a claims number they promised to replace the top or give me money to do so then never did. They went from a number of emails with "we will replace it" asking me for the dimensions and other info, including a picture of the table itself. to we're not paying for it, our contract says we only pay 60 cents a pound if we break something. You cannot rely on our mover;s word that we would replace it then they have paid me absolutely nothing and fought with me thru numerous emails one of the last saying we' will give you the 60 cents a pound but they didn't even do that.
They made a new contract with me via the emails when they promised they would replace it or give me the money to do so. I accepted that but their word is meaningless. (and in addition they also ignored their own contract)
Terrible terrible experience. I would never hire them again nor would I ever recommend them to anyone.
Estimate half of final charge.
I recently moved from one storage locker to another and used this company's services. The decision to move was based on cost savings and therefore it was only viable if the cost was low enough. This company provided me with a great quote and was hired based on that quote being reasonably accurate (reasonable meaning within 10 - 15% of the quote). The movers underestimated the truck size (not sure how this happened as I gave the unit size which should make estimation easy) and the movers spent about an hour trying to rearrange things to make them fit in the truck. It took another hour (with the workers stopping part way for a break) to go back and forth between units a second time to pick up the stuff that wouldn't fit. The mover charged me for the excess time which DOUBLED the quoted amount. The owner/manager was rude, unprofessional and insisted on charging me for the excess time. He then charged my credit card additional funds without my approval.
