  1. Avoid at all costs

Unbeknown to me, I agreed with a 3rd party mover to collect my household items and take them to Myrtle Beach. The issues were as follows:-

    1. They organized to come Saturday 11th but because van broke down, they came on Sunday 12th.

    2. They charged me an additional $1000 because they said I had more than the original amount discussed.

    3. The head person asked me for a tip, when I refused, he wrote it on the paperwork and asked me to sign it. I told him if they did a good job when delivering, I would reconsider.

    4. After they had gone I found 2 cupboards in the kitchen that had not been emptied, amounting to $500+ worth of items including brand new pots & pans, air fryer, electric oven etc.

I put my first date available as December 13th. Continuous phone calls have been that no driver available. I need these items including furniture and clothing and kitchen products but no one wants to deliver.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THE 3RD PARTY COMPANY OR THIS ONE.

  2. They need to be put OUT OF BUSINESS

On Oct 17, I contracted Cobra Van Lines (CVL) to facilitate my move from Miami to LA. With the exact destination being undefined, we agreed that they would store my belongings until I had my new address.

Plans changed as I received an offer for a position requiring me to stay in Miami. On Oct 27, I called CVL (Christina) to ask if I was going to get refunded or was what I had already deposited $3273 (+ additional future storage payment of $230) sufficient. She never called me back but I did a few days later to follow up with the same question. Her response was "No, that's it!". To my understanding, I had nothing more to pay.

On Nov 29, I called CVL (Briana) and gave her an updated move-in date (Dec 6), followed by a requested email confirmation which also said "Cobra would schedule the transportation of my items, based on this date.”

Dec 4, Briana called me to confirm.

Dec 6, I still wasn't given a time slot but rudely met by Christina's explanation that the move-in date given was my first "available move-in date" and that they had up to 21 business days for delivery, which is veiled in the contract. As with many other BBB complaints, this could have been brought to my attention sooner and I would have made alternative plans. However, I was forced to work around this misguided information.

Christina's dismissive attitude forced me to find and call the owner for answers. Yamit Baroz responded with a delivery date (Dec 13). The delivery truck arrived but to my total shock, nothing would be moved in until I paid the remaining balance of $2300 from the original LA-bound contract. So I called Yamit again but this time, I was received by a greedy, hostile and entirely different person who did not adhere to what Christina had confirmed.

My things were not reassembled, some missing and others damaged. Moreover, they not only left my sofa outside the front door because it “wouldn’t fit” but my e-bike has yet to be delivered.

For a total of $5803 delivered four blocks away, I, the customer, a non-professional mover was able to get my couch through the door, reassembled the rest of the furniture and completed the unfinished job.

I am completely appalled by this unethical company who pegs themselves as a Professional Quality Moving Company. I highly recommend anyone looking for an actual professional moving company to NOT work with Cobra Van Lines and to look elsewhere unless you want your things to be damaged and you are looking to be as disappointed and traumatized by my experience with them.

Please do your due diligence and READ THE FOLLOWING REVIEWS and other BBB entries for your own sake. They have nothing but negative reviews if you google them.

  3. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! THEY ARE CROOKS

They were supposed to come early on Dec 31st 2020. They didn't come until 2pm. o course there wasn't enough time to pack the truck. I had to be out of the house early on the 1st so I had to leave and hope they came back and moved the rest. while driving to my new location I got a call from my neighbor who stated a lot of items were left on the side of the house. When I finally got my items, a lot was missing and much more damaged. When I made a claim thru the claim company, they offered me 48.00. Before they would deliver, they forced me to pay an additional $3500 or they wouldn't give me my property.

  4. Avoid At All Costs

A simple, estimated 3-4 day move ended up taking 31 days, during which I had absolutely no idea when Cobra was planning on completing the delivery or even if they had any intention at all of completing the move. It was by far the worst experience I ever had, they offered absolutely no assistance whatsoever and didn't seem to have a care in the world. I cannot even begin to tell you how frustrating it is to have no idea when you'll get your life back.

This was such a horrible experience, there are so many better alternatives out there.

  5. Horrible, they will steal your things

    I had an intestate

  6. Do NOT use. Horrible company

Awful company. Bait and switch movers. I received a quote to move from Indiana to Fort Myers, Florida. For pick up May 27. Truck arrives 2 days before closing on our house. The truck was too small. The driver charged us for 1900 cubic feet and the truck only held 1800 cubic feet. He told us the estimate was off and demanded an additional $3700. With no back up company we paid. The driver ask for our preferred delivery date. We said June 5. Nine weeks later our belongs arrived. The company sent an email stating the balance due is an additional $3278. If we did not pay they would not unload.

  7. Amy is horrible and this company deserves to not be in business

I just got off the phone with Amy. She is the manager/owner. She is unprofessional and the nastiest, meanest person I have ever had the unpleasure of dealing with. I would like to think of myself as the opposite of the “Karen” meme. I have worked in customer service so I know how hard it is. I have compassion for it. I called to ask Amy about my money that I need refunded to me and she goes off on me. She tells me that my husband and I are horrible people. I can’t believe how nasty and horrible she was when I gave them my money and didn’t get my service done. This whole story is a long one so buckle up. We are moving from California to Texas for context. First of all, the people who picked up our stuff were wonderful. They came in a timely manner and my husband and I were very happy with everything. We were so happy with them to the point we gave all the guys 20$ tip and gaderades for their hard work. Unfortunately I had to push back the delivery date because of financial problems. It was a week push back. I call about a month later asking how much longer it would be. I wasn’t expecting it to be delivered right away since I know the cross country moving is chaos right now with Covid and the routes are messed up. They said they couldn’t give us a date and I say okay. We wait another month, no notice of anything. So my husband calls and they say nothing again. We call every day that week because they said it would get picked up that week. Come to find out they were lying. They said they don’t know who said that and she implied we made it up. It got to the point where they would put us on hold for hours(later confirmed today by Amy they did that on purpose). After this point on I started recording the phone calls because I knew they were shady. We call every day the next week until they give us confirmation. Finally they give us a driver and date. This is a week pass the max delivery date. Our stuff was delivered two and a half months since they picked it up. Again, my husband and I tried to be understanding. We were going into debt because we were buying stuff we didn’t have were sleeping on the floor. We paid them in total 5k$. We paid 2k$ just waiting for them to deliver our stuff. At this point we were irritated but not angry. The driver comes by himself with no movers to help him. He has his dog off the leash running around(which is illegal in Texas) and asks me to his dog water. I was uncomfortable and said yes. This is my fault, I should have told him to take better care of his dog and put the dog away in the car. My husband ends up doing all the work because the man is tired and he just laying in the back of the truck. At this point I’m admittedly pissed because we are paying this guy 2k$ to drive our stuff here and then sit on his butt. We ended up having neighbors help us move because they could see my husband was doing everything while I unpacked. The drivers dog was off the leash running around and our neighbors dog gets lose because the drivers dog is annoying it by barking and being aggressive. My husband gets bit on the back of the leg because unfortunately he was in between them carrying boxes into the house. We ended up getting a 300$ discount because they were 10 days late to deliver. Before the driver leaves, I find trash in my couch cushions. I knew they weren’t ours because we don’t drink orange gaderade. I remember we bought orange gaderade for the driver as thank you. I confront the driver about the trash and he admits he threw it in there. I have witnesses that can attest to this. I was so mad I asked him to leave and my husband ran out and told him that we were very unhappy with his service and filed a claim with him. Then he left. This was a month ago. I called Cobra Van Lines today to ask about our claims and where our money was. The claims were for nice bookshelves they trashed and were completely broken. I also wanted to file an official complaint against the company with the manager Amy. She started to go off on me like a mad woman calling me horrible and being so disrespectful. I work in customer service so I know you can have hard days. I was just baffled by the nastiness on the phone. I have this recorded as well. She told me I needed a therapist and then she hung up on me. I called her back and she accused ME of attacking HER. I am completely baffled. I have never had to talk to such a crazy person before so I don’t know how to handle it. I can’t believe I wasted my money on such an ungrateful person who doesn’t do their job and when they finally do it, it’s a shit show. I want my money back. I want them to know this is not okay. I am completely in shock that a company would do and say the things Amy said and did to me. This is NOT okay. This company is not okay. Amy, you are not okay. You don’t deserve this business and you are so unprofessional and wrong.

  8. Mafia Moving Company!

Where do I begin? Oh, yes, when they were 3 hours late! And we were expecting a semi truck. What appeared? A Budget box truck! ONE truck for a 3 bedroom PLUS outbuilding, PLUS basement and attic and one car garage. First problem, because contract was in my name and I wasn't there, they did not want to do anythiing. My nephew had died and his funeral was on 6/17, a 6 hour drive away. I left on the 16th. After a phone call, Walter accepted my husband's signature and CASH! On the back of the bill of lading, credit card payment is listed. These people would not do anything until Keith (husband) had driven to the bank and withdrew over $8000. So much for the $5000 quote we had received from New Leaf (broker). They started throwing things in big boxes. We had several boxes packed and labeled - all to no avail. All were put into large wardrobe boxes which we had to pay for. And Cobra employees did not even mark boxes so we would know which room they should go into! After a while the movers disappeared for 3 hours. When they came back they said they would need another truck. Apparently there are no BUDGET trucks in MA because they allegedly drove back to NJ to get another one. Again, they were hours late in arriving. We were told to have over $9000 in cash available on Sat. when items were delivered in NY. They said delivery would be at 1:00 p.m. Late again! Excuse was they had to stop at weigh stations. That's funny, every weigh station I see is closed. Money was due before they would unload Then we found out they would only distribute the furniture in appropriate rooms, NOT the boxes! Boxes were all left in the basement. We are missing table legs, screws for bookshelves and tables, and money. Yes, money was apparently taken from a desk drawer. Since all boxes have not yet been emptied, we can't be sure, box a box was emptied with contents from that particular desk drawer, and the money is not there. When we unpacked a box of paintings, a 90 year old oil painting, unprotected, has been ripped from its frame. Two floor lamps have been destroyed. A bookshelf, left behind in MA, was broken. An exercise machine, lawn trailer, wheel barrow, rolling tool chests, a recliner (already wrapped by Cobra), and other tools were all left behind. Heavy things one person can't move. They had 4 movers and assured my husband they would move those items, along with a refrigerator. Sure,

they said at the last minute they would move them for more money! Not after we'd already paid over $21,000 to move 300 miles! The foreman was an out and out liar. He told my husband one story, and me another. They left someone else's broken Honeywell heater in our trash bin. Oh, yes, all their trash was put in our recycling barrel, and the recyclable material put in the trash. Apparently they can't

read. To add insult to injury, they DeMANDED a $1000 tip!

Walter told me it was optional, after I had given it to him and complained about the poor job they had done. I said since it's optional, give it back to me. He replied he couldn't because I had already given it to him!

The broker firm AND Cobra should be penalized! Don't use either one. They are both true scam artists. Consumers should be afforded more protection from these criminals!

  9. DON'T EVER EVER USE

If I could give this company negative stars I would. Took a month for my belongings to be transported from PA to TX. Then when they finally showed up the driver wanted to charge me $75 to take everything up stairs. According to the contract, 1st flight of steps free then after that there's a fee. I live on the second floor so only 1 flight. However the driver refused to listen to me, keep getting in my face to call corporate ( umm, it was Saturday after 5). Finally in frustration I accidentally hit his hand. So he starts going ballistic, next thing I know corporate is calling yelling at me for hitting the driver (not even giving me a chance to explain). Finally they convinced the driver to unload which he did onto the front yard, so we had to carry everything upstairs ourselves. As we're taking things up, I realize that the driver left things that weren't ours. I immediately sent an email to corporate (again it was Saturday after 5). I sent a follow up email Sunday and another email Monday. In addition I called Monday and spoke with a rep who said they were aware of the issue and would get back to me. Finally I get an email today from them asking if I had received belongings that weren't mine....Hello, Ive been contacting your company since Saturday about that. So I call and the rep first asked about my experience to which I just had to laugh. Then she's like, well we've been trying to reach you about belongings that may not be yours and you haven't returned our calls (1 call yesterday while I was at work). I was like...umm, what more did you want me to do. I contacted your company 3 days in a row and you're giving me attitude about not returning your 1 phone call. In addition, since there were items that are not ours, clearly that means some of my belongings are somewhere else. DON'T EVER...EVER USE COBRA VAN LINES.

  10. Missing items

I have called multiple times and emailed as well with no response for anyone. It has been almost a week and not all of our belongings were delivered to us. I sent a description as well. They were hired through a broker which we were unaware of. I just want to file a claim or get our belongings back and no response. Consumers beware of their practices.

  11. Just awful

I gave them my move-in date 2 weeks in advance. They said my stuff was a few miles away and it would be there on move-in day. Despite repeated requests they neVer sent the insurance documentation required for move-ininmybuilding. The night before I moved in they called me and told me stuff is actually on the other side of the country. Oops. I have now been living in an empty apartment for six weeks, calling them twice a week and can’t get a straight answer or any information out of them. I’ll be calling my lawyer within the next few days. DO NOT HIRE THEM

  12. My stuff is still sitting in NYC from pickup on 3/4/21

My stuff is still in NYC and it’s been 13 days

Called Cross Country movers who promised a great price of $2200 and on pick up day Cobra Movers showed up. Robert was “great” until we were handed over and then he ignored my calls and emails and only responded that I now had to deal with dispatch whatever that means. I was told that I was being charged 1200 more because I was over the cubic feet even when I gave Robert the measurements of everything I had and he said we were good and even had extra space. I had no choice and they were willing to leave me stranded and when I called the officeatheysaidthesameandhungUp on me. Of course they get to keep my $900 deposit for doing nothing. I had no choice how can you find a moving company on short notice and they know this. I called today to ask about the 30 day storage which Robert said would start when they drop off the stuff well let me tell you what I was told. 30 days from estimated drop off date 3/14 today is 3/17 and my stuff is still in NYC so they are wasting the 30 day storage. Then Amy tells me that if I am changing anything I have to pay almost $300 for storage. Told me thatRobert lied and she doesn’t know what they said but it’s what she says now. I tried to call to speak to a manager and was told by another lady that said I could speak her or Amy. No owner no manager. So no answers to my questions no resolution and no idea when they will feel like delivering my stuff. I hope an owner is listening because believe me once my stuff comes I will not stop until I have reach all platforms regarding this scam and all legally possible venues. This is not right we overpay to have our belongings treated like garbage and be treated like garbage as customers. I am inconvenience because I cannot get my things within the 2-3 weeks as promised by the “broker” And as I planned. To make things worse my daughter is special need and cries for her things daily. This is criminal. Now I see on the additional item form that the sly mover added after I signed a 90 cubic feet mattress does that even exists? And 20 more medium boxes. When I signed it didn’t say that and he refused to give the the copy until he left and kept saying that they were leaving my stuff. Well I hope my 20 additional boxes and 90 cubic feet mattress come because then it will be a lost claim I guess seems like a brighter side don’t you think? If I could 0 would be good but I have to give a 1.

  13. Do NOT use!

I would NEVER have booked with them. A moving broker did it so always ask if they are using Cobra Van Lines. Do not book with anyone using them.

Unprofessional, rude, late, no communication or follow through, does not follow the 7-14 days for a 1700 mile move, does not even follow through with the 21 days. For some reason, the broker can’t seem to get them to do the job. Problems all over but started with an extremely rude woman when the move was loaded. She is doing all this, I know.

I still don’t have my property and they won’t schedule our move. 14 business days and they have done nothing. Our move was 7-14 days. That is it. When are they going to start paying for our hotel since we can live in our home. When will they start paying for meals since we can cook?

That is all I can say for now since I STILL have no idea when I will see my property, but these words come to mind...bait and switch, extortion, unprofessional, very bad. Why a broker would ever use them is beyond me.

  14. Worst movers EVER

2 months late, lost one box completely, broken furniture, crushed wardrobe box, shattered picture frame... Impossible to get a hold of them to file a claim. HORRIBLE MOVERS.

  15. Do Not Let This Company Move Your Items

We are in the midst of a hellish experience with this company. Our items were picked up Oct 9 & Oct 10 and were told our move will not take that long since “people are moving from California to Texas all the time.” Two weeks later, I started calling them and they said they had “21 business days to deliver” per the contract. That ended Nov 9. They delivered maybe 1/8 of our items on Nov 13 and it did not bring our beds or safe I asked for. They will not give us an ETA on when the rest of our items will be delivered. I have asked to speak with their manager but no phone call. I have filed complaints with the BBB and the FCMSA. I will be calling media and various state attorney general’s offices for help.
