  1. Mover Never Showed Up.

I sent a detail list of items needed to be moved in an online requested quote to several moving companies. Crawfords Moving Co., was the first to respond back, he spoke very straight forward and confident they could handle my move with on problem. We discuss this would be right around the time with graduating student moving, I live in Tallahassee with 2 Universities (FSU & FAMU). So I decided to go ahead and lock in a date of May 14th, 2016 @9 AM (as indicted in red on copy below).
He stated it shouldn’t take no more than 2 hours @ the cost of $180.00, I said no problem this sounds great. So my appointment was scheduled with this moving company on May 14th 2016, 9AM.
Mind you we spoke on April 27, 2016, so as time moved closer to move date I called on Friday, May 13, 2016, no answer so I left a message on this #850-528-6729 @2:34 PM. I stated I am scheduled to move tomorrow at 9AM and just wanted to confirm appt., please call me back, thanks. I got a call back at 3:34PM confirming I was on the schedule for tomorrow at 9AM, said thanks and I’ll see you tomorrow.
Saturday 9:30 AM – No Show, I think, well maybe they’re just running a bit late. So, I called 9:31AM, 9:54AM, 10:06AM (leaving messages to please call and I’m waiting for movers), I got no answer nor did anyone show up.
Finally realizing these people are not coming, I was able to get a friend with a trailer and few relatives to help me get moved. I can’t tell you the stress I was under and I had put too much confidence in this moving company, I forgot to have a Plan B just in case, but God is good because he worked it out for me anyhow.
Okay, now that I’m over half way finished moving, I get this call @12:25PM from the same number I’d been calling all morning, asking for me, my cousin answered my phone as I was busy organizing where items needed to be placed. It was…you guessed it Crawfords Moving Company, basically stating that I was NOT scheduled to be moved and I must be mistaken. First of all not too many people would be mistaken about such an important day, you are banking on everything coming together and plan and double check things to lessen delays. And I am way too organized and I double check things like that to lessen mistakes or problems.
So he says I’m the owner and I don’t have you in the book, did you call this number (listen I can screen print my phone contact from day one of scheduling move date up to now—but I’ve already typed enough details of the events as it is, so I’ll spare you). I say to him I’ve been talking to you, you sound like the same person I’d spoken with now at least 3 times and I’d called yesterday to confirm my move appointment, and I’d got a call back from you stating yes indeed I was scheduled and everything is good. And I ask well if you didn’t have me scheduled why wait so long to call me back because I had left several very panic messages waiting for movers to show. He said something about out on another call or something of that nature and could get my calls. PLEASE!! And he questioned me about if I called this number, did I speak with him and he’s the owner, and I said I’m pretty sure it was you I spoke with from day one. And after a few minutes of back and forth, I said listen I’m in the middle of finishing my move, I’ve got to go and I hung up. Afterwards I thought about I should’ve ask when did you have me scheduled or if at all, and I might add a real decent company would’ve at least apologized, even if just for the misunderstanding between both parties, I got nothing except lies and how it must be my fault. I personally think he got a bigger pay offer and dumped me.
So, I just want to give future movers a heads up; this was my experience and truth. Listen, moving is a lot of work as it is, without a business giving you their word, and not fulfilling that promise. I wish everyone a successful move, but do your best at checking, then double checking the company you select. And one for the road, I get a call from same number at 1:36PM asking for someone named Travis, I say you’ve got the wrong number. And I’m hoping to never hear from them again and happy moving to everyone! Please forgive me if any misspelling or grammar errors. ; ) I want to be clear no money had been exchanged yet.
