Worst move ever
Denver Moving Services moved us from Lakewood Colorado to Bradenton, Florida. They gave us a very competitive "binding estimate" of $9,900. Signed a contract three weeks before the move. Checked with [NAMe EDIT], our sales guy, to make sure everything was a go for pickup on May 24, 2021. He replied via email "that is the plan." May 24 no one shows up. I finally got a hold of Vincent with dispatch and he said we were not on the schedule. [NAME EDIT] and his crew arrived the next day and loaded our household items onto two Ryder rental trucks. [NAME EDIT] then jacked the price up 42% after they had our belongings on the truck. Said the volume was more than the estimate just by looking at the trucks. I have filed a complaint with the DOT as this is a common scam with movers.
Other complaints: Listed a small pump organ that two people can pick up as a "piano" and charged us extra to move it. Crated our delicate items in cardboard. Put a Tiffany lamp shade in a wardrobe box, of course it broke. Our hanging clothes were just thrown into wardrobe boxes with no metal bar to hang them on. Too many broken items to list. Lost our kitchen table, an 8 foot ladder, toolbox full of tools, a CD player and an 80 lb quartz rock! I thought I was doing a good thing by hiring a local company for our move to Florida. Wrong! Stay away!
