  1. SCAM!! Never do business with this company.

My moving broker, Gold Standard Relocation arranged this mover. This company loaded the truck, demanded additional CASH and then dumped my belongings in a warehouse. Then, instead of moving my items, bid out the actual move to a random guy who rented a UHaul and drove overnight. If you use this company expect to pay cash demands, have everything damaged, and have a HORRIFIC move. Plus, they don’t answer phone calls either. It’s a nightmare and I hope the State or NJ acts. They also are doing business as New Hope Movers.

  2. Should Get ZERO Stars! Worst Moving Company!

Worst moving experience! This company sent 3 guys who were a day and a half late, and one tried to shake me down for $5,000 in cash and told me not to call anybody or he would walk out on me and leave me stranded without a mover at the last minute! Since I had to catch a flight and had no choice, I negotiated a price, and they "dumped" my things in their truck. They ended up delivering my things 3 weeks later than what they had promised! They broke/dented/scratched every piece of furniture! The majority of my boxes were delivered damaged, torn and dented. You can find yourself better movers than this!

  3. Bait & Switch Pricing - Hold Items Hostage for Payment - Broken Items.

    1. They are a hired by brokers like CH Global, unbeknownst to you, the client
    2. Bait & switch pricing, you get one price then another person calls to "confirm" and you get another price, then the movers come & there's another price
    4. Only accept cash or Vinmo to the driver
    5. Loaded fragile boxes at the bottom of the truck and smashed them
    6. The delivery driver was rude and though we agreed certain things would be left out, he brought them in instead, requiring me to bring them back out. When confronted, he told me to not talk to him like a slave.
    7. Delivery driver told me they don't know what's in my boxes even if they're labelled fragile.
    8. Furniture was damaged profusely
    9. Treadmill was completely ripped apart & leaking oil when delivered
    10. Custom lamp shade was shredded
    11. BBQ Grill was bent so the sides hang & the wheels won't turn
    12. Items are still missing 2 months after the move was completed
    13. Won't return calls, texts or emails requesting a paid in full receipt or updates on missing items
    14. Drivers didn't show up for move until 6pm on the day of and were in my house until 3am
    15. They definitely hold your move ransom for more money as outlined in other reviews.

  4. Unfair and unethical pricing.

In Feb 2018, my husband and I signed on with CH Global Van Lines, based in Fort Pierce, FL, to move us from MA to WA. We were not told that this company was a broker who would hire another company to actually move us. We spoke at length to David Traina, going over a detailed list of items we would be moving. He sent me a quote in the amount of $6941.05. The estimated volume was 1472 cu ft. The cost was $3.36 per cu ft plus some fixed costs (binding fee/flat rate, fuel surcharge). I paid a deposit in the amount of $1933. I also told David that I wanted to have the CH Global Vanlines move my 2010 Honda Insight. He quoted me a price of $900. We were told that we would receive a phone call approximately 3 days prior to our move from quality assurance (John Harris) to go over the list of items being moved and to answer any questions we had. Early in the week of June 11th, I called customer service regarding the car. I was told at that point that there was no record of the car being moved. I was later told that the car could be moved by another partner company for $1300. I declined to have my car moved by that company and located a reputable auto transport company. Our move was scheduled for June 14th or 15th, 2019. When I first spoke with John Harris the week of June 11th, he and I went over my list of items. There were some additions and deletions from the original list which, in my estimation, balanced each other out. He gave me a new volume estimate of 2029 cu ft and a new quote of $10732.60. In addition to the increase based on the cubic footage, other fees which we had been told were flat fees were increased as well. John also informed me that I would need to pay another deposit based on the higher estimate even though there was no mention of that in the original contract. Given that the move was scheduled to happen in about 3 days, I felt as though I had no other option. I paid another deposit in the amount of $2268.73.
The week of June 11th, I received a phone call from Sal, from Direct Movers, LLC. I had never heard of that company before then. Sal asked me if I could switch my moving date to June 13th (a day earlier than planned) so that his driver, Sahid, would not have to come back to New Jersey (where the company is based) between 2 moves. I questioned him first about his company and how they were related to CH Global Vanlines. This was the first time that I began to realize that CH Global Vanlines was merely a broker. The movers arrived on June 13th with a truck that was already partially filled and they were unable to fit our items in the truck. They had to get another vehicle. After the vehicle was loaded, we were told that the volume was 3400 cu ft and the new total cost was $18271. I questioned the cubic footage but I couldn't confirm that the # was wrong because there was so much else in the truck. I questioned a few other charges and was given a slight discount. The final cost ended up being $17261. I told the driver, Sahid, that I completely disagreed with the cost and I even called CH Global Vanlines and spoke with customer service and John Harris. Again, similar to earlier in the week, I felt I had no choice. I had to either pay the money or have the movers unload the truck with all of my items.
On June 28th, another moving company, AJ Express, Inc, delivered our items. The driver, Ruston, arrived with a 57 ft long truck. He explained and showed us that our items were packed very efficiently in the front third of that vehicle. I measured the length, width, and height of that portion of the vehicle and calculated 1455 cu ft (18.5 ft x 9.25 ft x 8.5 ft). This number was less than the original amount quoted back in February of 2018.
Therefore, I am due $17261 (amount paid) - 6941.05 (amount quoted) = $10319.95 as a refund. I have sent this request to both CH Global Vanlines and Direct Movers, LLC without satisfaction. There was also damage done to items that were not protected well by the movers in MA.

  5. Zero - do not use - thieves - class action suit?

    The horror! Devastation! Hysterics! Hospitalized!
$7,000 to receive molded, dirty, destroyed and nothing. Took them over 2 mos. to deliver, "be there tomorrow 9 a.m." 9:30 comes, no noon, no 4, now 6 p.m. oh we thought you were someone else. Tomorrow, this went on for 20 days. Truck accident (they said) rolled in Nevada, total loss. Local hires said that whatever was not broken, the driver/asst broke it coming off truck. I did not sign anything. No one answers phone. Conservative claim $140,000 denied by Sal, the owner.

Safebound Logistics was the broker. Let us see if they will help, there is still hope through the broker. Otherwise, look for my review there in a couple of weeks.

  6. Please do Not Use These People.

I concur with all one-star reviews here. I have waited for several months to tell my story regarding these THIEVES!
We had booked with a broker called "PRESIDENTIAL VAN LINES"
for our move to GA from NH. We got a good price which included storage for 2 months. We sold our house and had our broker, PRESIDENTIAL VAN LINES coordinate the move date to coincide with the closing. Well, one week before closing we get a call from a mover who tells me PRESIDENTIAL VAN LINES is going out of business with our deposit but he could move us on time. It gets better, when I called the broker he said it was sour grapes from a disgruntled sub-contractor. So, who do you believe? I, unfortunately, stuck with the broker who called me 2 days before our move to say he was trying to hook us up with a mover truck. REALLY! Our reservation and $2,000 deposit was made 3 months earlier. It turns out "DIRECT MOVERS" did show up on time however, this is where it gets soooo bad. After the truck was loaded we were told we had more weight than the broker told them so the price went from $4,500 to $13,000!! Sadly, It gets much worse. After we purchased a house we called them to deliver which in and of itself was a nightmare! When they arrived and opened the doors there was broken glass, marred tables and many lost items including boxes of good stuff never to be seen again. You see while in storage for a month and a half they stole what they thought we wouldn't miss. Bookcases gone, my 72" flat screen TV smashed and countless other stuff too much to mention. There answer to all this was simply "only work here" but we have insurance. REALLY, I had to go through a claim company who took 4 months to evaluate my claim and came up with a grand total due me of READY .. $298.06. And they have no more to do with anything saying the company has the estimate of which the mover must approve and write the check. What a joke! I wish it were funny but it is far from it. When they have your money and belongings they have you totally. And, they know it and prey on it. They know they control you're getting out of a sold house and getting you out of a hotel room waiting to get you into your new home. These people are ruthless thieves!! Like most thieves they work in concert with each other. The trio I had was "PRESIDENTIAL VAN LINES",(The Broker), CSI (the appraiser), AND DIRECT MOVERS OUT OF N.J. (the [EDIT] of all)
Check them out on Better Business Bureau. I wish I had.
I took the time to write this for you and I hope you are spared by my writing.

  7. Stolen Life.

It is pretty clear our stuff has been stolen. I should have realized this was a scam. Thinking back to moving day, all the signs were there that this was a scam and under pressure, we moved forward. We are so devastated. Now we have to try to put the pieces of our life back together again after losing everything we owned. Maybe one day some of it will show up.

Do not use Pure MovING (they use Pure MovERS name and reviews)--the broker who scammed us or Direct Movers - the ones who stole our stuff.

  8. Worst experience ever.

Do not use this company! They are con artists! They will get you to go with their services by giving you a low quote then they will bump up the price. In my case they were inaccurate with the drop off time AND damaged my television. Do not use them!

  9. Run From This Mover..Run!

    This one-star is really a (-10)-star rating.

The moving broker I contracted with hired Direct Movers, and I didn't know it until it was too late (they had my nephew's stuff on the truck and demanded $1500 in cash). I'd never have hired Direct Movers..their ratings are horrible (read the other peoples' reviews..they're right on!).

The cost estimate for the move ($2300) by the moving broker was based on lbs., but somewhere (on the truck I guess) it changed to cubic feet (cf) and somewhere between NY and NM the cf became 1000 cf..even. We never did get a real weight or cf measurements because my nephew's belongings were mixed in with other peoples' belongings and DM said it wouldn't be possible. I know now that his belongings fit in an 8'x10' storage unit with the first 4 feet empty and it's not stuffed to the top, so 1000 cf? Even? And this was suppose to be pounds!

But more than that was holding my nephew's belongings hostage once they were on the truck. "Pay in cash or money order to us or we'll keep his stuff." I paid with (I had to use cc direct deposit at horrible rates) direct wire for the first $1500 (I didn't even know I had to pay), and was suppose to pay $1500 when the stuff arrived. But that number rose to $5000 while on-route, negotiated by the moving broker to $2000 and negotiated in cash by us to $1600. Regardless, I was never told by the broker I'd be paying anything in cash, direct wire, money order, etc.

The whole move was suppose to be $2300..all credit card because I didn't have cash. The move cost over $4000, and at one time was up to over $8K, but complaining, arguing, negotiating worked a little. I did get a 100% refund from the broker, but I'm still out $3100 and/or actual weight or cf measurement(s).

By the way, I tried to get local law enforcement help with a civilian standby, when his belongings arrived in NM, but they wouldn't interfere in a "civil matter". That civil matter almost turned in to a criminal assault matter when his belongings arrived, but we had witnesses with us videotaping the entire negotiating/unloading processes. So there were just heated battles and threats.

The complaints I have against this company don't stop with just the lies, illegal (extortion, et al) tactics..how about being called an "idiot" by your service provider.

The tactics used by this mover are more than civil violations, they're criminal in my mind. But because each one of us is only out a few thousand dollars, hiring a lawyer isn't worth it/an option. Together, we could probably file a class-action or some kind of suit. Getting my money back would be secondary to putting this company out of business, and wishfully hoping, the owners in the slammer for awhile.

  10. Moving cross Country.

This is the BIGGEST SCAM of all times. Booked with Moving Forward which apparently dispatched out to Direct Movers. We were never told this was how they worked. We had to make a deposit by credit card, then 2 certified checks, 1 at time of loading and the other at time of delivery. We were originally told it would be by weight, then the movers said cubic feet. The movers after loading all the furniture gave us a totally different story about cost and delivery date. It's been over 2 weeks and we just found out that all our belongings are sitting in a storage building in West Virginia, the same state they loaded up all out furniture. We were suppose to have delivery today!! All our belongings are in West Virginia and we live in Nebraska. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, IT IS A SCAM!!

  11. Run! do Not Use This Company!!

I booked this this company back in February called super star van lines. I received an estimate for $1746.97. For my move.

I was told I had to pay a $400 deposit once I signed the contact which I paid with my debit card online. They said I had to pay half when the movers arrived and half once they dropped my items off in California. I was told I only could pay money order or cash so I got a money order and made it out to direct movers llc the company they work with because they are brokers and failed to share this information.

When they arrived at my house it was a new company called Direct Movers. the mover told me that I was looking at $4000 for my move and I said no, this is not the amount I agreed to. He then said if I paid him $2800 today that it was a good deal. I said no this was not what I agreed to which is why I only have the money for said amount. He asked me how much could I give him and I told him this was it, the $674.
I have a picture of the BLANK contract he put together at my house which I should have never signed.

Because my contract is by weight he said that they were going to take it to their facility to weight it. Which I do not trust. He then texts me stating I have 4040lbs of stuff I said no way! He asked me how did I know how much my stuff weighed. I told him I had a 1 bedroom apartment, I knew they were trying to scam me then. I was so upset and asked if I should seek legal help and he said go ahead maybe they can help me pay for my move! It was so unprofessional!

I spoke to a lady with super star van lines right after and she promised to call me back but never did and they won’t return my call and her mailbox is now full.
Dan from superstar van lines never returned my messages. He was the man I spoke with originally.

This is when it gets crazy. They say that they are almost here to deliver my items with no real notice so I went to meet them at my storage unit. I had the money orders of $1500 ready but was advised to have them sign a receipt saying I was paying the original balance and that the extra $800 I planned to dispute. They refused to sign it and got super crazy broke the gate at the storage unit and left with my things. I told the lady at the moving company I had medical supplies on the truck and her response was “ you should have thought about that before you decided to play games and now you will pay more and hung up.

Now they emailed me saying I owe them $2600 for re delivery and I’m trying to contact a lawyer. I was in the hospital yesterday because of my missing medical supplies. They do not care about people or customer service and should not be operating this business.

If these companies were upfront it would give people the opportunity to prepare for changes but just making up reasons as to why I should pay said amount is not right.
They contracted my move out to two different companies so now 3 companies want to be paid at my expense. They have continued to make up reasons why they changed the price every time I talk to them. DO NOT USE SUPERSTAR VAN LINES OR DIRECT MOVERS OR ANY COMPANY ASSOCIATED WITH THEM. They also change their names on yelp to avoid bad reviews!!
