Delivered as Promised.
I recently had an excellent experience with this top notch company. I was looking for a mover that I felt comfortable with and decided to put my trust in Excel Carriers. From the first conversation I had with their sales staff I was impressed with the way everything was presented to me upfront with complete honesty. I decided to go with them and I'm happy I did. I was quoted at a price that I thought was reasonable but was prepared for the worst as I've had some bad experiences in the past.
Fast forward to moving day. The guys arrived on time and got straight to work wrapping my furniture in blankets. My fragile items were also carefully packaged as we had discussed during the scheduling process. They worked extremely fast and the truck was loaded quickly. When we arrived at my new home the same care was taken unloading my belongings. Everything that had been disassembled was put back together and everything was place as I directed. I couldn't be happier with the service I was given from start to finish and I would recommend them to any one I know who is moving. Thanks again guys for a job well done!
Best Moving company.
Used excel on valentines day .. my fiance surprised me with a new apartment in leonia. I immediately called excel since a friend recommended them due to their amazing services. They were efficent, neat, and trasnsported my items in an orderly fashion. They wrapped all my glass menageries and took care of my belongings as if it were their own. Loved them ! will call again soon.
Best Moving Company.
I hired excel to move me from New York to Hackensack, New Jersey. It was a stressful day for moving but excel made it easy. The guys were extremely kind, fast and organized. I will definitely use them again !! My mom is moving to Florida at the end of the year and I will be calling. Recommend them to everyone !! :).
The Worst Mover ever..- Anthony from Excel.
Anthony is the worst kind of person with whom you can deal with. He turns on a dime and does exactly opposite of what he says after he gets your contract. Before the contract he stated it is Payment on delivery, as soon as the truck got loaded he demanded 50 %, He said there will be no extra payments if you manage to unload the Truck on the date that was agreed upon , when it was delayed by half a day he washed his hands off and said it is up to the guy who delivers it, who is a totally different operator. He didn't provide a packing list and didn't even bother to acknowledge my request. The end result of Engaging Anthony is a bunch of stuff broken and a lot missing..NEVER USE HIM IF YOU ARE IN YOUR RIGHT MIND!!
Bad Experience.
YOU ARE BEING WARNED! DON’T USE THIS COMPANY!! I booked them in
February of 2017 for my move on March, 25 2017 from New
York to Texas.
It all started after I entered my information on a general moving website and a
few hours later started getting calls from a guy named Michael. He gave me a
reasonable quote over the phone and made so many promises such as: I will pick
up and deliver on time, my guys are professional and don’t worry about any
extra insurance because you will not need it, I got a quote with all the
furniture listed on the quote. I ended up not loading about 4-5 things (plus 3
bikes that I ended up not sending with them) on the original quote so I called
him a day before and told him. He said I should be ok and the price should be
adjusted where I would pay less money. I had originally told him my husband
works for a trucking company and they had given me a quote to move everything
in my house with no hidden fees with the difference that we would have to do
all the loading and unloading ourselves so that’s why I opted for a moving
company but I asked for all honesty because I had a budget and I couldn’t go
over so I needed him to tell me if I would end up spending more. He said NO if
anything I would pay less than what he (MIKE) quoted me because I was not
sending everything that was on the original quote. So that gave me a piece of
mind. He also promised to give me all
packaging materials for FREE (RIGHT AWAY I THOUGHT THAT WAS A GOOD DEAL). The day of the pickup came and the guys
started loading and once everything was loaded and wrapped the guy came back
inside with an invoice about $1400 more than what was agreed. Now we are not
only sending less things with them but we are now being charged MORE MONEY? NOT
100, 200 OR 300 BUT OVER $1000 MORE??
Now I am freaking out why?? I don’t have all that money to spare right
now. The driver explained to me that it was because it took up more room than
what they expected. I said look you guys move things everyday you should know
before you quote someone the size of a queen bed a dresser, a washer and dryer
all the other furniture and 20 boxes. He also said I was being charged extra
for the packaging materials which where supposed to be free as per MIKE. I
asked to speak with the owner and he pretty much told me he wasn’t making money
on this move and couldn’t do anything other than deduct 140 bucks?? At this
point I had no other choice than pay for it.
I needed my stuff over in Texas
but April 1-3rd as stated on the contract. The 1st went by didn’t hear from anyone so I called on the
3rd and no one picked up the phone… they were just ignoring my
calls. Finally after calling so much and going through a lot I got through to some girl named AMANDA which
she claimed didn’t know anything because she was not in dispatch and couldn’t give
me any info. Finally after insisting and
threaten them to have their company shut down and calling their cargo insurance
underwriter they finally gave me a delivery date of 4/8. Of course it would had
been too good to have everything delivered intact. My washer and dryer are
damaged and the back of my dresser is broken. I called them to make a claim but
the vice president David told me they were not going to be in the office for
the next week and now I have to wait another week to start a claim. So I took
this matter in my own hands…. I submitted a claim to the underwriter and found
out that I am only covered .60 cents per pound which doesn’t cover my damages. It was my fault for not doing more research
about this company and reading the hundreds of BAD REVIEWS ONLINE and for not
getting extra insurance because I believed MIKE when he said I wouldn’t need it
because his guys are professional. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! DO NOT USE THIS
COMPANY!!
o.
Flat Price Mover.
I had a very good move by Excel Carriers. They moved me this past Sunday. They gave me a Flat Price of $800 for 8 hours of moving services. They finished the move in 8.5 hours. We had 3 flights of stairs which were not that much of a problem for these nice movers they sent.I happy nothing was broken and they didn't break the agreement we had.My brother is moving in 3 months and he also will use them because he was there present on my move day to see the good job they gave us. Thanks Excel .
Please run as far as possible to another company.
This is by far the worst company to do business with. In the beginning it was great. There is a great guy by the name Micheal whom is very warm and pleasant to speak to. but the Owner/ dispatcher is a complete **s hole, selfish, greedy, and absolutely do not care about his customers and employees. If you are hiring a moving company do you can reduce the stress level by sourcing it out to a moving company, Please love yourself and give it to another company. Going forward with this company will be your worst nightmare. Also, If they tell you you can pay on the spot, Please note, after your move they will demand payment is cash. They are absolutely the worst company to use. Please consider this as a warning.
Do Not Hire This Company Currently Under Investigation.
This is for all of the individuals who have shared there horrible experience with Excel carriers and the criminals who either have worked, still work or who have "pretended to work" for the Top Ranks Excel Carriers Moving Company (which I have had the misfortune of also dealing with just recently when I made the mistake of hiring “someone named ‘Mike’” claiming to represent the company and scammed me pretty bad.. "Mike" and his "movers" (Note - who have scammed me but only for now - until I verify the real identities of "Mike", the "movers" and if the owner is involved as well - who was always aware and may or may not have been involved directly - and get them all sentenced for their crimes, fraud and their unethical, illegal actions in this company). Along with being 3 hours late, forcing me to hold off on moving into my apartment that same afternoon as I had planned, I was forced to have no choice but to store my furniture at the “company” overnight for $200+ because the movers were 3 hrs late. (which left them providing moving services for under 2 hrs at my house that first day) and the next day 3 new movers came with my furniture to my new apartment where I met them, were so argumentative and from the start were very “this is how its going to be” you pay, cash only accepted or we go back with your furniture. I flipped when I saw a bill that (not only neared $2000! - but that they had all ready for me when they didn’t even start the unloading of my furniture and didn’t know how long they would be therefor how much would be charged - but I knew dam well that 2 hours (rounded up) the day before of service, an overnight fee of $220 to store my furniture (which was there fault I had to end up doing that so I was going to dispute this anyway) but time they were “charging me for” which they didn’t even start when they gave me the bill after arriving that Saturday with my furniture and were being nasty about me trying to get the price down because it was some kind of insulting joke.. the guy “mike” agreed to $1000 which was still absurd but the movers kept saying “you’re just wasting your own time” and “well have to go back with your furniture” and so on. They ended up only taking my furniture off the truck and leaving it on the ground right outside my apartment building (because $1000 wasn’t “enough” to bring it up to the unit a few floors up even though had an elevator..) and they sneakily left after an hour and a half/under 2 hours again of service and kept the $1000! didn’t give me any receipt for the cash I gave them, the whole service (primarily Mike the ringleader who set up this scam BS) was a fraud. The movers even damaged some of my furniture. I tried to reach out to Mike who didn’t answer anymore except for when I asked him for his last name but he gave me a fake (he actually used the owners last name as his own “DelGuidice”. I called “the owner” ANTHONY DELGUIDICE of Excel who told me this guy, Mike, was already fired when he provided me the services he “lied about being from excel carriers" but no longer was and was pretending to still work for the company after "being fired" (which would be convenient for the owner if Mike committed this crime while working for Anthony since Anthony is responsible for who he hires, what they do and the jobs done in general) and that Mike had a long history of doing this (would rent his own truck and hire his own guys who he would split the cost with for doing the services out of pocket on the side). I am opening a HUGE investigation on not just Mike (who I’m close to finding with investigators) as well as the owner who I believe at the LEAST had SOME KNOWLEDGE of this going on since its no coincidence there are SO MANY AWFUL reviews on the COMPANY in GENERAL, that Mike provided a COMPANY CONTRACT/BILL, and which Anthony would not provide me with ANY POOF THAT MIKE HAD ALREADY BEEN FIRED, THAT ANTHONY CLAIMED TO HAVE "NO RECORD" OF THE JOB THAT HAD BEEN DONE AND BECAME SO DEFENSIVE AND NASTY WHEN I ASKED HIM FOR PROOF TO HELP ME PROVIDE THE COURT PROOF OF THIS WHOLE THING WHICH ANTHONY GOT NERVOUS ABOUT AND DIDNT WANT TO GET INVOLVED WITH (not even specifying “Mike” or whoever else worked there”. Im trying to get everyone else’s story if you don’t mind so I can build upon the already existing pattern I’ve noticed within both your story and mine as well as many others :(. Not fair you had to go through this and I’m shocked this company and or this person and even the owner have been allowed to continue doing what they’ve been doing and I’m going to make sure this guy MIKE gets locked away and can never “company” hop again and that Anthony loses his licenses as well for allowing this and not taking responsibility like a man or a real owner would. He’s just like the rest of them - scammers. The number of lies the “employees” (movers and Mike the one who set it all up and made the bill/so on) was astronomical - they only take cash but the contract says cards accepted or door to door delivery (not when they put my stuff outside and didn’t take it in because $1000.. yes $1000 wasn’t ENOUGH!?) They are such scum these people and I’m going to find out who at least the main guys are and assure they get the legal sentencing they have coming to them for not just my case but yours and everyone else too. Its unethical and ILLEGAL. To think someone can do this to another person (or THIS MANY OTHERS FOR THAT MATTER) is INSANE. The amount of time they have been doing this for and not paying the consequences is incredible.. I’m shocked that SO many reviews exists, all with such horrible and similar experiences (on this and other sites!) hasn’t sparked a red flag for anyone higher up who could or would investigate this further. Add to this currently ongoing investigation against the people involved with the company Excel Carriers (past, present "employees" and others who acted as employees but weren't and engaged in work that required certified, licensed (LLC) professionals who are trained and responsible and don't THREATEN THE CUSTOMER!) Any names sound familiar or any similar details from my story? or Names like Mike? “the company rep”, or movers David or Joey? Any contact with Anthony DelGuidice the owner? Document is, gather any other proof and report it to the following ill post below or in a separate post! Thanks for your time and lets all get the justice we deserve and the punishment these guys deserve for their crimes, lies and fraud!

Excellent Service.
After getting a lot of calls from different moving companies I decided to use Excel, my experience was nothing but stress-free. It was my first time moving out of state, since I spoke to Michael I felt very comfortable he explained all the details and gave me tips on how to save money by doing my own packing. Every time I needed his help he was there. The guys at pick up were incredibly professional and hard working. I have nothing but good things to say about them. I'll definitely will use them again, and will recommend to anybody. Thank you guys you are the best!
Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
JUST. DON'T. And if you did already, report them to BBB and FMSCA. Hidden costs. Hounding phonecalls (until things go wrong at which point everyone disappears). 4xthe estimated cost in cash on arrival before handing over your goods..AND they have your credit card info..which is disturbing to have in the hands of criminals. .
Worst company ever! EXCEL CARRIERS-ENGLEWOOD NJ.
Had the same problems the other reviewers are reporting. They showed up 45 min late and then rushed us into signing a contract. Prior to signing the contract he telld you cash only. I told the the driver to please stop at $500 because I was not expecting to pay cash and I dodn't have the kind of money. He agreed. Loading our furniture was pretty much normal but before they drove to my new place they demanded payment in full before unloading. That was not a problem until they told us the bill was more than twice what they said on the phone when we booked them and it was cash only no checks or credit cards (They asked for a credit card to booked the job) but you have to pay CASH. They charge an hour (min) travel time from their office to my home even though they are five minutes away. They then charged for hundreds of rolls of tape and "other" packing material which we were told would be free when we booked. They also charged for extra hours over the quoted price The best part was they would not unload our furniture and would leave with it if we didn't pay. Of course they told us this was all in the contract which they had rushed us into signing without reading. This company does not deserve one star and really should be investigated by the police but they do protect themselves pretty well with the "contract" that has nothing in it that they tell you when you book them. PS They will take a credit card for a deposit over the phone but not to pay the final overinflated bill. Your bill will triple the amount that you are given in the beginning. THEY DO NOT TAKE CREDIT CARDS. They tell you to go to the POST OFFICE AND GET A MONEY ORDER WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD.There's not such thing.I was forced to pay over $1000K for an extimate of $375 that I was fgiven in the begiining. They were supposed to come on 11/26 at 9:00 for the move when it was past 9:00 and they were't there, I call and they said they mess up the appointment. that they were going to be there at 1:00, then they changed it for 2:00pm and then they cancelled. My move was on 11/28 and they were there at 45 minutes late. They took my baby's crib apart and they made it seem as they put it back together but they didn't. screws were missing on the changer part of the crib. now I can't change my baby. It's so sad they scammed a young mom with her 10mos old baby on her arms. I will consult with a lawyer.
Scary Crooks!
We were moving a piano, it sounded very good on phone and a contract was sent to me. I was promised that the total cost would be $360 for the piano including an extra china cabinet. Michael was very talkative and described how they professionally they had the experience. He went through the process step by step. He was also claiming honesty through his experience as a marine soldier.
They came late to the pick up place. About 45 minutes. They moved very slow and were not very nice. Then the person Al started to say something about negotiation the price, I was surprised buy this and thought it was already set. I did add two smaller items because of the size of the truck that would easily hold theses pieces, I was ready to pay for that. They would have fitted in my car. So I stupidly assumed that it was about the added pieces of furniture.
I left and Al seemed stressed out but agreed that we would meet at my house. When I got home they came and he was already worked up and seemed stressed. He wanted to negotiate and told me that it was now $630. According to him the piano was not included in the price. He was aggressive and scary. I called Michael that picked up and said that it must a be a mistake, he was going get it right. This did not happen and it just went worse. I am a woman and luckily I had a friend at my house, it was a very threatening situation. Al said he would call the police on me. We negotiated more and Michael did not pick up the phone after this. I did finally agree to pay $450 and he would bring in the furniture. He said yes and I gave him $440 in cash. He went out and told his guys to put the stuff on the driveway because that I am not paying enough. At this point he was super aggressive and I was so scared. My friend I agreed that at this point we have to calla the police. Before he came Al was screaming and banging on my door that I locked. A police officer arrived before they left and talked to us and then them. He said that the contract was really unclear and that it is difficult to do to much about. He convinced them to put the stuff in the garage. He stayed until they left and told me to go online and writ reviews on as many places as possible. These people are all but honest. BE AWARE!! I am so sad know, was looking forward to the piano installed in my living room as promised. :( .
Issue-free move.
Moving is one of the most stressful life events that anybody has to deal with. With all the issues that I had to deal with on move I am very glad that I chose Excel Moving to help with the move. The guys were on time, courteous and professional. They were able to make an already stressful day bearable. I am not looking forward to my next move but when it happens I already know whom I will call. Thanks guys!!
Bad move.
These guys are unprofessional and cannot be relied upon. They show up late and then they demand Cash upfront even before the move is completed. Beware! they will hit you with hidden charges which is not explained to you at the time of sales. They held the goods till the payment was made upfront. I will not recommend them for any other jobs.
Scam artists!
I booked these movers 2.5 weeks before my scheduled move and the guy on the phone seemed super nice and accommodating and gave me a great price -- $280 to move my stuff from one bedroom (very small move). I had to move my move date back a couple days due the the tenants staying in my new place longer than planned, no big deal. I called them and they moved the date, sent me an updated contract, everything was kosher. Now, come move day, they said they would arrive at 3pm. It was about 3:30 and no one had showed yet, but this is NY, sometimes people take a little longer than expected, there's traffic, whatever. I called to make sure that someone was on the way. They had the audacity to tell me that they didn't have my reservation and that it was scheduled for the past sunday! Umm, well obviously no one had shown up on Sunday either so what does that mean?! And I had the updated contract stating that I had a reservation for that day. After about 30 minutes of arguing to have someone come out at some point to move me (it was the 1st of the month, I HAD to be out of my apartment!), they said they would send someone out. 20 minutes later I get a call saying the driver had been in an accident on the way to my apartment and they didn't have any extra man power to send someone else out! They were trying to tell me that they could send someone out at 9am the following day to do this move, but they would need to charge me an additional hour of time (making it 5 hours of time!). I only have a bedroom worth of stuff! It would take 3 hours TOPS with driving in rush hour traffic. Thankfully I was able to find someone on TaskRabbit who felt bad enough for me to help me last minute for cheap. I called to cancel Excel movers asking them to confirm with me they recieved my messages to cancel. Received a call back at 11am the next day, and the guy said "So I don't need to send my guys out today then?". Well considering you were supposed to show up at 9am, no!! I have called 4 or 5 times and have yet to get my deposit back.. 10 days later. These guys are [EDIT] and scam artists. DO NOT USE THEM!!
