  1. Terrible company.

These people have NO concept of customer care. They are totally unprofessional and inconsiderate. I used them in a move from Chicago to AZ. I had one unit of furniture, a bedroom set. no mattress or box spring, just the bedroom furniture because it was the one thing on the move that I wanted. After they had delivered all of the boxes and a motorcycle, within a day I was going to assemble everything. I found out that they had NOT delivered the wooden side rails and footboard for my set. I immediately contacted them and they casually said I had to wait till the driver emptied his truck. Next was that they had to look in the warehouse. These were not small pieces but without them I could not put the bed together. I eventually had to drill holes in the one thing that I wanted, to try and accomodate standard rails. It ruined the bed. I have since had to buy a bed to try and match the rest of the set. That was five hundred. This has already been too long so I won't go into the rest. I ended up, after months of aggravation dealing with this phoney outfit, signed and settled, because of the "between the lines" wording in the contract that states, basically, if you things are lost or broke..tuff. The amount was seventy dollars. I have had to contact three different companies, apparently associated with this bogus outfit and have yet, after eight months, received any compensation whatsoever. Avoid this company at all cost.

  2. 23 days and still don’t have our belongings.

Franklin van lines was hired by Affrodable to transport our belongings from MO to Wa. 23 days and we still don’t have our belongings that were supposed to arrive in 7-10 days. Franklin is not helpful! They give vague answers and do absolutely NOTHING to help. Children crying in the background when you call the “office”. A sad excuse of a business. If you ever want to see your belongings don’t hire Franklin Van Lines out of Florida or Affordable Movers from Cleveland OH.

  3. Avoid this moving company.

My move was difficult because I had a few different destinations and dates where my belongings were. The coordination was troublesome to say the very least. It felt like my teeth were being pulled out doing business with this company. Very confusing!
In addition, the driver who moved my belongings down the my new home was extremely rude and criminal. I was working as teacher and after a rough day, I certainly did not want to be swore at. I asked the driver for a courtesy call a half a hour before he arrived. He started swearing at me and I lost my cool. I started to swear back at him. I made a horrible decision because he charged me an extra thousand dollars because he said he could not get the semi in my complex and many of my belongings were not delivered. He took another week to get me my things without any help from the company. I thought my belongings were at the bottom of a lake. Stay away from this company.

  4. Franklin Van Lines moving company.

Please take my word for it and avoid using their service. Moving is difficult enough and they added to my stress double fold! The sales rep was on top of things before the move. She answered questions and emails within half hour which impressed me and we went with them. What a mistake!
I spoke with the quality control person and he assured me that they will load us in 1 day even if he had to put more guys on. The day of move, they cidnt come till 11:30am. First thing he did was look around and say it would cost extra for multiple items. Normal china cabinet, computer armoire he deemed oversized and increased the cost by 2,000$.
Then he went on to increase the final amount to 3,500$.
What could we do! We had to pay up since the sales rep who was super nice before didn’t answer any of my calls and sent email that she doesn’t have access to our files anymore!
    Now the movers were inexperienced.
Day 1, coming in late, left early. They didn’t cover the floors with blankets as previous ones have done. On asking they put out cardboard boxes. They broke the railing! We were moving out of town and got so stressful that on Day 2 they didn’t finish till 8 pm. Luckily my landlord was nice and had her cleaning crew do the cleanup and took it out of our deposit.
On delivery, they sent 2 guys only. One was barely 18.
They left a lot of things in the garage. Didn’t set up things and were working till 8:30. They were so tired! How could we ask them to stay longer?
Now to damage and lost items!
Boxes marked fragile were crushed, wood broken on 2 beds and armoire. Our slate tables are broken.
I won’t mention the broken dishes, glasses, scratches and dents! They lost glass tops of our tables that they themselves packed!!
Claims are a joke. Shouldn’t have bothered since they are only paying 60$ And it took so long to do the claim process. This has been a nightmare! Do stay away!

  5. Very bad experience with Franklin Van Lines.

The first quote was for $4982.95 and I had to submit a deposit of 411836.32. Two weeks later and the night before the loading was scheduled they called me and raised the quote to $11176.52 and refused to refund my initial deposit when I said I did not wan their service and would use a different company. I was told that I would have to go to Florida to fight this in Court. I felt cornered since we had to move and did not have time to fight with them. I finally agreed to the move and they stored my property for about 7 months. When the delivery was made the movers refused to remove shoes in our newly built home and made a mess of the floors and damaged walls and refused to pay for any damage. The driver left a large pile of garbage in the garage and when they assembled the furniture they left out pieces and did not assemble everything, said it was my responsibility and they left. I was not allowed to check for missing items but noted on the paperwork that several items were missing and after checking it was close to 20%. I made a claim and they offered me $64.00. I am still in the process of trying to get reimbursed for our loss but the Franklin Van Lines assumes no responsibility for their actions.

  6. Do Not Use Franklin Van Lines - Aurora, co.

This company is very DISHONEST!! Luckily we didn't let them load our belongings without first going over our quote again with the driver of the moving truck on moving day. The quote on the day of our move was twice as much as our original quote. The owner of the company (Jennifer) spoke to my husband at least 3 weeks before our move and negotiated a rate of $3040. She even gave my husband her cell phone number in case he had any other reservations about using her company. She said they were willing to give us a deal and wanted our experience to be a positive one so we could give them a good review. On day of the move and after hearing the new price my husband tried to call Jennifer but she never answered her phone. To this day, we still have not heard back from the company. We tried to dispute the charge for the deposit through our credit card company but because the agreement we signed says you have to cancel within 7 days of your move to get a refund, we weren't able to get our $1300. deposit back. Please do not let the people at this company mislead you. They will tell you whatever they need to in order to make a sale.

  7. Franklin Van Lines - terrible experience.

Terrible experience. They low balled the quote, & then the final cost was almost 3 times the estimate. This number isn't given to you until AFTER all of your things are packed into the truck. They packed & unpacked my things twice. Very low tech, no bar code scans on the stickers, all handwritten. The whole experience felt a scam, dirty & uncomfortable. They hire local workers to work at the direction of an "leader". They packed so quickly that I had no say in what happened to my belongings. Some things were broken. They tried to deliver 5 days BEFORE my requested delivery date - I didn't own the house yet & so they unloaded my things into storage & went on with other moves. It took multiple calls to get them to load up my things & deliver them. The biggest problem is the cost. They suck you in by making you think you are going to get a professional move for a cheaper cost. Don't believe them! They WILL charge you premium price. I am a VERY unhappy customer. Once you've hired them & they have your things, then you have no recourse. BUYER BEWARE!!

  8. Terrible Moving CO., NO SERVICE.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, DO NOT USE!! NO SERVICE AFTER THE SALE, AND SAM STONE IS THE WORST SALEMAN EVER.
My sister and I hired Franklin after needing to schedule a move relatively quickly, trying to settle the estate of a relative who had recently passed away. EVERYTHING THAT THE SALESMAN PROMISED WAS A LIE. They never called back after we made a deposit, we had to hound them and every time, got the same answer, "I'm on it". CUSTOMER SERVICE NEVERS ANSWERS THEIR PHONE, EVER!! Many additional fees were NEVER DISCLOSED by the salesman. WE were told our items would be picked up in a Franklin Van and never leave the truck. Both of these were lies by the salesman. Penske truck showed up and the drivers also told us that most shipments are sent to the same warehouse.

One shining spot, their pick up crew treated our items as if they were their own and took such GREAT CARE and were very polite and respectful. Its a shame that they don't run the whole operation!!

  9. Poor customer service and lost-stolen item.

I helped my elderly parents move. We set up the move from Oregon for them. Everything seemed to be going well UNTIL they delivered my mom and dad's belongings. On arrival the driver had us pay the final payment before any items were taken off the truck. We had a list of all belongings that were packed in Colorado and placed on the truck. When I asked the driver where my mom and dad's 46" HD tv was he told me that Victor , the person that scheduled and was responsible for our belongings, knew the TV was not on the truck and was missing. He told the driver to deliver any way. There was no phone call to us about the "loss". Since then Victor has not contacted us like he promised he would. He has not found out what happened to my mom and dad's TV. The "loss" was sent to the moving claims company. I sent them copies of all my paperwork including the belongings that were packed on the truck and told them what happened. The claims company "generously" awarded my mom and day $62.00..really? $62.00. Since then Victor has ignored my calls, He even told me he was writing an email to his boss about this. When I called to find out the progress of this email..Victor would not answer my calls. My phone number must be blocked by them because my calls will not go through anymore but my wife's phone calls do. NO ONE WANTS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. No one wants to demonstrate honesty and integrity. This is so frustrating. I would be happy to discuss this with them or anyone who will honestly look at what happened and take responsibility. My folks are 81 and 83 for Pete's sake.

  10. Horrible Company- DO NOT USE THEM.

I booked with this company against my better judgement. I place a 916.00 dollar deposit to reserve the truck for July 29/30 to load and head to MI. Once I placed the deposit they then wanted me to photo copy my credit card and drivers license front and back and fax or scan these to them. I refused to do such a thing, after having to talk with the sales person and a manager, I told them this request was a deal breaker and I would cancel, they then agreed. I should have cancelled right then and there. In their contract it says you must email them with your job number to their "cancellation" address 7 business days before the first date the moving truck might show up. I did so as today was the 7th business day till our expected possible arrival on July 29th. I then called and reached a new salesperson name Cal. I advised him I was cancelling due to a complete change of events in MI. Without skipping a beat he said the deposit was not refundable due to it wasn't a full business day on which I sent the notice in. These guys are complete scam artists and only care about taking your money. Reading others reviews I see that they have other van lines subcontracted out and don't seem to be using their own asset trucks and trailers, which I was told that is the only way they do it. Having been in the trucking industry since 1999 I know a little bit about how this works. My suggestion to anybody thinking about hiring Franklin Van Lines, pick another company. Moving is stressful enough.

  11. Horrible Movers - Don't hire them.

We have requested Franlin Vanlines to move my stuff from Plymouth, MN 55446 to San Ramon, CA 94582.

Victor the sales guy had at least 15 calls with me before he gained my trust and we agreed on a price of 7800 dollars for the move, this included a full service move, he promised me repeatedly that my stuff would be delivered in San Ramon, CA by 7th tr 8th of July, 2017stuff was picked up on 26th June 2017.

After they picked my stuff, they put all my stuff in a storage in Minneapolis, they do not have their own trucks (which is a big problem) they were calling all kinds of folks and trying to get the lowest price, they did not deliver my stuff until Aug 12th, I called DOT , BBB, moverescue.org and called them 100’s of times, they were not professional at all, John is the delivery guy he would not pick the phone, they started capturing my phone number and send it to voice mail directly. Victor the sales guy would not pick my call at all during this whole time.

BBB lady told me that they had 30+ such complaints against them in the year and in the month of July itself they had more than 5 complaints

All in all it is a nightmare experience.

Do not use these guys for your move, very pathetic guys.

  12. Awful Dishonest Company do Not Use.

Where to begin..Sales representative was professional and knowledgeable price quoted was not even close to what it turned out to be, but to be honest we added more items. It would have been better for them to come out and do an inventory to provide a more accurate quote. My stuff was picked up on time and on the day they promised. Movers seemed nice and professional. Things appear to be going great, right? NOPE this is where it turns into a nightmare. There were tons of hidden fees and the driver told me that he would have our stuff to us within 2-3 days because he wanted to get home. Because of that timeframe give he decided to add my husbands tool box which he needed for work and a couple other boxes that would be needed right away. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER! Needless to stay we didn't get our items until 2 weeks later and my husband was at risk of losing his new job because he didn't have the tools he needed. We lost a week of income because he was unable to work. I called customer service and was never able to reach anyone because they would pick up and the line would be immediately disconnected. Once I finally got a person there he put me on hold mid sentence and then disconnected the line. Dealing with dispatch was nightmare. They NEVER return calls even the management team. They showed no care or empathy over our difficult situation and the possibility that my husband could have lost his job. Before you consider hiring this company please look at the Yelp reviews out of Colorado. Buyer beware!

  13. Scam Alert.

Please don't fall for this scam artists, they add additional that doubles the fee. They claim that they want to repack everything.

  14. Don't Use Franklin Van Lines.

Once they have first deposit price started going, almost double by end of process. Told lie after lie about furniture staying on same truck to delivery times ( 10 days ended up almost a month). Staff is rude and condescending. Damaged furniture in all steps! They use contractors at every step! Not a good Company!

  15. Franklin Van Lines.

Franklin Van Lines has the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE you will ever deal with if you are dumb enough to hire this company. Please read the reviews, I could go on for pages but I won't. Only hire a moving company that will come to your house and give you a written price based on what you are shipping, not weight. Franklin Van Lines gives you a quote based on cubit feet but the price will go up. The Franklin salesman gave me one price only to be told I owe more money AFTER the truck was loaded. Furniture was delivered 17 days later and two days after the driver called and said he would be there in a hour. NO customer service after the sale!! Have a question after the sale? Don't call because you will not get an answer. Please don't listen to the nice sales people because they can do nothing for you after the sale!!
