  1. Awful moving company.

They changed the price once they got to my house even though I gave them exact measurements of everything being shipped. Seems to be a theme with them. I moved from Los Angeles to SW Michigan. They lost 2 of my largest boxes that included all my suits and my Army dress uniform then they claimed it wasn't their fault and must have got lost in transit. They are scam artists and will lie to you every step of the way. There are better options out there. Please use someone else for your own good.

  2. Terrible Job.

Horrid! Worst moving company ever! They damaged over 60% of our items. We paid for a FULL PACK and it was terrible. I can not believe the way this moving company packed our things. We had a deep freezer that had no protection around it at all and it came out looking like a tin can that someone beat the crap out of. DO NOT USE THEM!

  3. All around horrible.

Thumbs down negative stars all of that! Do not use this company if you VALUE any of your items/ furniture now where to begin. When they moved our stuff out of the first apartment the mover rolled our big leather chair out the door and hit the wall in doing so instead of lifting it. It’s a nightmare to track the whereabouts! Our stuff sat in the original state we moved from for three weeks after they picked it up from the apartment before the loaded it on a truck to drive to the destination. Calling to ask about a status is a nightmare you could reach the president fast and easier. A lot of I don’t knows and they just give you numbers to try and call, but no one answers. When we finally reach a number for the driver he didn’t even know his own name or the location as to where he was heading to take the stuff he asked us what state and for the address. When they arrived they arrived at 6:30 in the morning on Sunday no warning what so ever. The driver parked down the street we told him of an easier access location and he said he didn’t feel like moving the truck. The movers act like the can’t read all boxes that were labeled “fragile” or “this side up” were sitting every kind of way and the boxes were damaged. The driver watched us open one of said boxes as we checked to see if they were broken and said “oh you’re lucky”. Then proceeded to ask about the rent around the area and asked if we “had any more money for him. Due to his laziness with the truck and not wanting to move it closer threaten to charge a walking fee. So again if you are looking for a mover YOU FOUND THE WRONG ONE!

  4. Do not use this company!

I've been putting off writing this review because I'm still so furious. I hired them in mid March to move my 1 bedroom house from TX to AZ, and at the time there were no negative reviews and the customer service rep, Joe, seemed nothing but professional. That changed immediately with the movers showing up at 7PM when they were scheduled between 10AM-Noon on moving day! The agreed upon quote of 2K quickly went up to 3.5K as they nickeled and dimed me for things like tape, "packing supplies" to wrap items such as the washer and dryer in cardboard, and misc items like the bedrails that are required to hold up the headboard and footboard. These are all things I feel they should have mentioned to me when we created the quote, which by the way we went through 3 separate times just so I could prevent this exact scenario. So at this point I've given them 1/3rd of the initial quote on a credit card, another 1/2 of the "new" cost via check. My things now head to storage for 30 days. When I attempted to call them to schedule the drop-off, I kept getting hung up on or sent to voicemail! Once I finally got a person on the phone, they were unable to tell me when they could deliver my things and said they would call me back once they knew the schedule. No call back. So this went on for 4 straight days. I would call and call until I got someone on the phone, and they said they would call me back with the schedule. I'm beyond frustrated at this point. Then I get a call from a random truck driver on a Thursday night saying that he has my things and he would be dropping it off the next day, Friday, at 3PM. Also, he only accepts cash payment. CASH PAYMENT. So not only has the company not given me any notice, but they have some unknown 3rd party brokered to deliver my belongings and would only take the final 1/3 of payment in cash. Well I got my things finally, paid the cash begrudgingly, took pictures of giving him the cash, and crossed my fingers. Guess what happened next, I get a bill from Gathright for the outstanding amount, PLUS storage cost because I've apparently been keeping my items in their storage. I tried calling the company again, and I get sent straight to voicemail. This is still an open issue. Please do not use this company.

I forgot to mention that they also broke a couple pieces of furnish during initial pickup (and didn't tell me), and failed to deliver 2 items, a bookshelf and a floor mirror. Luckily I had all my boxes numbered so I was able to track those effectively.

  5. Horrible!

I do not even want to give them one star! unprofessional, late delivery. Drivers are not worth the ground I walk on. It will be the lowest quote you get for a moving company, but wait, they'll try and force you to do a shuttle service which will be a heck of a lot more. they'll charge you for every step they have to take. With all of that said, that's not even the worst part. My delivery was unreasonably late and was damaged. Oh wait, there's more! Would you like your most precious items to go "missing?" Let's just state that there is $10k worth of stuff missing from my move and it has been three weeks and somehow they have not been able to locate it in the wearhouse! So, if this sounds like something you'd like to go through while moving your entire life across country then sign up for a move with Gathright Van & Storage!!

If you're reading this and you work for them, I hope you lose sleep at night knowing you work for a company that does this to their customers.

  6. An Absolute Nightmare.

    1. Upon pick up they charged $3,624.16 more than agreed upon!!
    2. They took 20 days to deliver our items (I'm 8 months pregnant - 19 nights on an air mattress was not fun!)
    3. They couldn't tell me where our stuff was for a week - we assumed it was lost or stolen since no one could provide us with an answer otherwise
    4. They lost 19 bags and the hardware to rebuild our bed
    5. I asked multiple times if our belongings would be mixed in with others and they promised me it never would. Upon delivery they show up with a semi truck full of our stuff and someone else's stuff
    6. The movers confirmed these surprise price changes and other issues happen all the time
    7. When I asked to speak to a manager I was told "We don't have managers."
    8. I was told my pick up date would be the 30th and they didn't tell me until that afternoon that they would not be able to make it that day, they would be coming the 31st
    9. I can't even count how many times I called and waited on hold for 20+ minutes just to get "disconnected"

**Here's my story in case you're still considering using Pullman Van Lines:

They ended up charging me an additional $3,624.16 upon pick up. At this point there was nothing I could do but to proceed with the move because it was our last day to move out of our place. The sales representative, Mark Collins, quoted my two bedroom apartment at 312 cf, which the movers at pick up told me was about the size of my living room. After speaking with a few of the movers and learning that this happens on every job they work, I later realized his low ball quote was a crooked move conning me into signing with them.

Mark Collins offered me a discounted rate of 54.93% for the move but they would only honor the discounted rate on the 312 cf, any additional cubic feet was charged at full price. No negotiations or working with me. No compassion or understanding. Just straight up robbery. I had to pull from my children's savings account.

Prior to our move I even read a few reviews about this happening and I asked my salesman, Mark, if this would happen to me and he said, "those are people with large items of furniture who are trying to sneak it by and throw the movers an extra $20 or something. So as long as you're not trying to do that you'll be fine." I was nothing but honest about all of my furniture items and the amount of bedrooms at my place, I wasn't trying to hide anything. It was he who was dishonest and living up to the sleazy salesman stereotype, conning me into moving with this company.

To add on to the stress, after pick up the mover told me he was taking my items to a warehouse. I called every single day, multiple times a day, to make sure it arrived at the warehouse. No one was ever able to confirm that it did until 6 days later. I spent nearly a week thinking my items were either lost or stolen. He also told me our stuff would never be mixed in with someone else's, that it would have its own pod and would be loaded and delivered separately. Then the movers show up at delivery with our stuff in a semi truck along side someone else's stuff and a few of our items were missing.

I do not understand how this company is still in business.

    Service cost: $5,754.

  7. Gathright Van and Storage.

Brian the foreman was very helpful on the delivery day. He left the pieces exactly where we asked him to, we liked this very much since it eased our lives when unpacking and reassembling everything. Really nice service in all aspects.

  8. Gathright Van & Storage.

I was mostly amazed with their customer service and how careful they were on every detail also on how they resolved problems and although they damaged my kids mattress, the insurance paid for it quickly. Anthony took great responsibility of our stuff so that it arrived safe and in promised time. I would not hesitate to contact them again.

  9. Great company.

Got to them by accident but will use again. My sister's move to Oklahoma city went great, arrived within 2 days, price didn't change and the packing was pro.
