  1. Geo Van Lines

On May 29, 2021, I spoke with their moving coordinator, Shannon Harrison. She was probably the best “used car salesman” I’ve ever encountered. Remember how I said before I’m not naïve…. well as Shannon and I talked for over an hour about her grandchildren and how often she loves to visit them etc etc., a good ol’ southern vulnerability swept over me, and I was completely sold on this companies’ ability to safely transport all my belongings from TX to FL without any hitches. Shannon never stepped foot in my house to assess the amount of cu ft we had; it was all done over the phone tediously from room to room. She assessed that there were no issues with all of it fitting into their 26 ft large truck. She bragged about how their guys would gladly take anything and everything off our walls and wrap it securely. I asked her no less than 3 times about how long it would take for our stuff to be delivered (that’s the first and most important question any person would ask, right?) She told me all three times 2-4 days…7 days worst case scenario. She also told me they’d arrive at our home to pickup everything at the crack of dawn on moving day. I had to put down 10% ($686.00) that very day. We were told the remainder would have to be paid once our belongings were delivered.

June 18, 2021, my husband and I got up around 5:00am—well before daylight. Six o’clock rolled around, then 8:00, then 10:00, we tried calling and calling and no one would answer. At 10:30am, the truck finally showed up. Four hours of packing and loading have now been missed. I noticed they weren’t taking anything off the walls, so I asked them about it to which they responded with “sorry, we don’t do that.” I explained that Shannon said you did, and they said “Oh, we’re subcontractors, we don’t work directly for GEO Van Lines.” Turns out, GEO doesn’t move a thing for their business, they hire it all out to subcontractors. Something we were NEVER told. Towards the end of the evening, they said it wouldn’t all fit into their truck and they needed to call in an additional one. Surprise Surprise! The second truck gets there and we have now been charged an additional $2400.00. We were furious and helpless—they had us over a barrel at that point. I cried a little….to say the least. My husband and I raced to Florida to arrive before the two day mark on Sunday June 21. We wanted to ensure we wouldn’t miss the truck’s arrival. I’m sure by now you know where this is going…..a whole week passed and we heard nothing from GEO Van Lines. Here’s where it gets good! We tried multiple (and I do mean multiple) phones calls, text messages, voice mails, and emails. They refused to respond to anything whatsoever. Turns out they had our numbers blocked. After eight days, we decided to call our police department to ask what to do. They instructed us to send a certified letter demanding our belongings and if it didn’t arrive in 10 days then we’d seek legal action.

Twenty days later, July 7, 2021, a truck shows up in FL. However, about 25% of our stuff is still missing. They wanted us to pay the remainder of the balance and we refused for obvious reasons. The subcontractor (which was a convicted felon, who spent 3 years in prison for grand theft, by the way) was demanding cash, to which we said Ummmm, no, but he wouldn’t accept debit card payments, so we were forced to pay him through Zelle. Problem is, you can only send a new contact in Zell $500 per day, which ended with me having to pay him a portion through Zelle, Cash App, and Venmo. Can you say NIGHTMARE? We were told the remainder of our stuff was right behind them in another truck. Well, that “truck” didn’t show up for 23 more days. YEP! So that means our stuff was picked up on June 18, 2021 and wasn’t fully delivered until July 30, 2021. I’ll do the math for you, that’s 42 days later. Keep in mind, we had only packed our original suitcases for about a 7-day trip. This means we had to go buy additional undergarments, clothing, hair supplies, had to call in emergency medication refills, and so much more. We had to eat out meals 3x a day because we had nothing to cook anything with and we hated to buy new cooking supplies when there’s a ton on the way “any day now” ….or so we thought. I was so stressed out over all this, I got a horrible migraine and ended up in the hospital. I’ve never been so angry, stressed and helpless all at the same time. We’re currently in the process of legal action. I can’t reiterate enough how important it is for you and your loved ones NOT to use this company.

Oh, I forgot the best part…..at least half of our stuff is damaged, scraped, broken, torn etc.

  2. A nightmare start to finish.

Please, RUN!!!, don’t walk, from Geo Van Lines. I was stupid. I read all the negative reviews and thought, well, how bad can they really be? Surely only people with a negative experience bother reviewing. I was in a hurry to move, so I was stupid. Their sales reps were very good about calling me, but once my deposit was in their hands, it was a different story entirely. The whole process was a nightmare, and during the entirety of it, which took literally weeks longer than it should have, calls went unreturned, emails unanswered, and when I did manage to connect to someone I was lied to incessantly. They actually lost track of the sketchy driver that they subcontracted my move out to, and for weeks couldn’t or wouldn’t tell me where he was. A story was made up about him being hospitalized with COVID. Well, when my stuff finally did arrive, it had an extra box that didn’t belong to me. I looked up the owner and we spoke on the phone and compared notes. Turns out my stuff was already sitting here in Florida close to two weeks before this supposed hospitalization. As far as the stuff, I actually saw how it was all jammed haphazardly into the truck and intermingled with other customers’ shipments with little regard for any of it. Of course some of my stuff was damaged, and when I got in touch with them about it, more failure to return contacts, more lies. I eventually got their insurer to process my claim, and found that buried in the fine print of the contract was language limiting their liability, not to the goods’ actual value, but literally to $0.60 a POUND. That’s right, your stuff with them is worth less than bulk onions at the supermarket. And I’m still waiting for that money, meager as it is. I am not a nitpicker or someone who is not understanding about the inevitable “stuff” that happens, but this was a nightmare start to finish. Please don’t gamble on these sketchy movers.

  3. Scammers! Worst Nightmare Ever! NO Star Review.

Geo Van Lines Llc was contracted in July 2020 for a partial long distance move TX-CO.

They over charged. Lied about need to repack. Added costs including fuel charges. Showed up without covid19 protection. We’re not professional packers. Stuffed fragile and antique items in big boxes with wright equipment, taped directly onto antique furniture. Lied about how belongings were to be handled and shipped. Wrote incorrect unreadable inventory list.

Delivered with just one man, I had to help unload. Late evening on a weekend unscheduled with big storms incoming.

Truck was all tossed. Property was upside down, crushed, leaning on back door. None of it secured.

Many items broken. 4 boxes and several items missing. Left other customers property and never recovered it at my destination.

Refused to find, redeliver or even take calls.

Refused claims. Said they did not deliver the broken items even though I had photos and inventory stickers.

Refused to send readable documents. Denying all claims even though I have emails, texts and recordings.

Denied all to Better Business Bureau and credit card co.

Almost 8 months later I am still trying to get damages and lost items claims paid or reimbursed.

    They are scammers and thieves.

Avoid Geo Van Lines at all costs.

I’ve reported to Transit dept, State consumer affairs, BBB, Local Watch Dog, Mover Scams, FB open letter, Authorities, and will pursue more legal action.

  4. Charged $500 more than quoted

I was confident when choosing this company to move my belongings because they had been consistent emailing me since last year. I’m having a feeling that this was probably one of the worst mistakes I could have made. I informed customer service that I was on a tight budget and was very pleased with their assurance that they would communicate if any price changes were made from what I was originally quoted. I made the payment and still haven’t received my furniture. Also, I received a text message stating that I owe $500 more than what I was expecting to pay, in cash. If this issue isn’t taken care of before my furniture gets here. I’m contacting my attorney.

  5. Shady Business.

PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH, DON’T BELIEVE THE FALSE GOOGLE REVIEWS. Check out the BBB for more accuracy, also refer to mymovingreviews.com or Yelp

Where to begin..broken bed, scratched up piano (just from loading) 2 weeks later and we STILL haven’t received our belongings. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for us when they do arrive. (IF they arrive, one lady claimed to have lost all her belongings due to a FIRE) I keep calling the customer service and I’m told the same thing, “we have a 21 business day window to deliver.” Of course they don’t tell you that when you’re booking, they say “give or take 2-3 days from your date”. Wish I’d paid the extra money and gone with a more reputable company.

  6. Horrible Moving Experience.

My experience with Geo Van Lines has been unpleasant and nightmarish. I selected this company because it was affordable compared to other moving companies. Since I’m a single mom/widow, I thought it was a good selection for my budget. Since my new house was not ready, I decided to leave my items with this company for just a month. I called ahead of time to let them know about more items added to the list, but they said it was okay since the workers work hourly. Everything was fine, but the cost was more because I decided to add more things to the list, even though I called ahead of time for the price and to make sure they had enough storage for my items. I didn’t change companies because it was time for me to start at my new job, and I didn’t have any other choices but to stay with them. Well, when they brought my items, they forgot several things for which I am still waiting.
Additionally, some of my items were broken even after I told them to be careful and labeled the boxes. It has been two weeks, and I haven’t received my missing items. If they were in one storage, how can they be missing? I would never use this moving company again or recommend it to family and friends. I’m sharing because I don’t want anybody else to go to this horrible experience.

  7. Worst Customer Service & Had a Worst Experience!

I Don’t Recommend GeoVanlines for Transport of your home goods .

I had a worst experience with Geovanlines. They unloaded my baggages after 3 weeks, in that 3 main baggage’s and 1 baby playing toy were missing. The Driver , one who delivered our luggages forced us sign as if all items delivered properly before we check on inventory list. After 2 days he texted he found out missing items in his truck but it’s been 1.5 months still he hasn’t sent us via UPS or Fedex though he mentioned he will send them . Literally he has stolen our more valuable items . Enquiring the company regarding the missing baggage’s & Driver they keep telling me as checking with the driver and in warehouse. They didn’t even give our Claim for missing items which are more worthy and can’t be replaced. No customer service. They will say they will call back in 10-15 mins but they never do .. It’s been more than 1.5 months I’m running behind them and calling to get an update on my missing baggage’s but no answer to my calls and mails .

Please don’t believe this Movers. It clearly shows they have taken my most valuable & worthy items like Wedding Silk Sarees , all my kitchen Utensils, 2 months groceries.
