  1. Do Not Use These People.

The initial contact "sales person" was great. It is all down hill after they have received your deposit and you are no longer ALLOWED to talk to the initial contact. They lied to me about being able to remove items from my original list and reducing my moving cost. They lost approximately 40% of my items. These items were of great importance to me as some of them belonged to my deceased daughter, sister, grandmother and mother. I do not believe that they made ANY attempt to find these items..as a matter of fact my feeling is that they themselves kept the items because I questioned them about the lies and deceit as to how much they were charging me even though I had removed a number of items as had been discussed with them in order to reduce the moving charges. They do not return your calls or call you back as the say they will. The process for putting in a claim for the lost items is so difficult that you will give up (which is what they want). They care only about getting your money. They do not care at all about you or your belongings. Besides having lost 40% of my items the truck that delivered to me had no clear distinction between my items and other peoples items on the truck. Several items were also damaged. The delivery people were nice upon arrival, but once I advised them that there were missing items they became very rude and would not wait for me to verify each box, and piece to determine exactly what was missing and simply drove off while I was still talking to them. DO NOT EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE.

  2. Movers were great; office staff, not so much.

Prestige Worldwide Moving, the company that I contracted with for the move, contracted with Global to transport my household goods, so I didn't actually choose Global. Luckily, the movers did a quick efficient job at pickup in Colorado and delivery 3 months later in California, and for a fee, Global kept my goods in storage until I was ready for delivery. My one complaint about delivery is that the mover determined he couldn't bring his monster truck to my door because it would have broken branches on the trees in the landscaping. That meant I had to pay an extra $500 for him to rent a U-Haul truck and load everything in it.

Dealing with the Global office staff was difficult when I was trying to sort out the storage dates and charges. The biggest issue was poor communication. Office staff would promise to follow up my questions and call me back, but they wouldn't. Most of the time they wouldn't respond to voice mail messages or e-mails, either. With my belongings in their hands a thousand miles away, it was unnerving to be unable to reach them. (Even Prestige told me it was very hard to reach Global.) Because of the communication issues, I would not use this company again.

  3. Horrific- A Nightmare of a move.

This was the worst move I have ever encountered. It was a NIGHTMARE. If I could rate them a ZERO I would. I called Global Movers in May to receive a quote, I was informed that all the moving people worked for Global.
I was told they were located in Florida. I had quite a long conversation with Errol and he was quite nice.
I called several other movers and decided to use this company as they sounded honest and Errol was so nice and helpful.

They quoted me a low price which it seems like they do after I started to read different reports on BBB,after I experienced this horrific incident with them.
When they picked up our stuff the quote turned out to be $19,261. We were already in a bind as we had to be out of the house by the 21st.
I was also told that they will store our items free of charge for 30 days in a climate control environment and after that they will be a charge.
I was lead to believe that our property would be held in Florida until it was ready to be delivered.

They said they are legit, but every time I called I was either placed on hold or hung up on.
Then when I did get someone I was informed that the contact I had was no longer working there, but come to find out this is a lie.

Finally we get to Florida and was under the impression that our stuff would be here waiting to be delivered as this is also what we were told. Well that was another lie, come to find out that our stuff was still in Colorado. On Nov 30, I called for our stuff was told it will be shipped out that Friday, which was another lie. I waited and waited and by the 5th when I saw no delivery, I kept calling with no response. I finally had to threaten them and I finally received a phone call from a Nina, where I told her that I expect our stuff and nothing had better be stolen or damaged.

Well after waiting for two weeks we finally got our stuff delivered on December 22nd. They also lied about the number of people delivering the stuff. We were told 2 driveres were on their way with our property, but 4 showed up. Up until I called Nina that morning to discuss the funds being given to the driver she only mentioned two, She keeps mentioning 2 or three in no where has she yet to acknowledge 4 workers, but yet all these people work for Global which is what they claim.

There were 4 people. My husbands 125 tank and a 55 gallon tank that Global packed was damaged and can no longer be used. They broke the TV stand that they packed, they broke our china and coffee cups. Nina claimed and I have it in writing that they will replace anything that was damaged or stolen.

I am not sure how you would take this but if your instructions to movers are: "there is a bathroom behind the kitchen for your use pleas use it".. what does that mean. What is it when you observe 1 individual coming out of your master bedroom, and master bathroom washing his face and hands and immediately he leaves and you notice that your wedding ring, and engagement ring that was left on your master bathroom vanity are now missing. Please tell me your thoughts on that.

I was informed that Ed and Errol no longer work for Global, BUT THAT IS ANOTHER LIE AS NINA CLAIMS MY EMAIL WAS SENT TO ED AND HE WAS ON VACATION. SO I GUESS HE STILL WORKS THERE. This company does not know how to tell the truth. They should not be in business. they are a rip off.

Not to mention when our items were delivered they had rat feces in them as well as being chewed up by rats.

  4. Worst.. !!

One of the worst.. I had terrible experience with them. Starting with over charging after all confirmation. I has confirmed receipt from them and the day driver arrived, he had another receipt and asked for more money. he wont deliver if I don't pay. I fought hard for 2 months after delivery to get that back. They promised to deliver in 7 days .. they delivered in 25 days. I had to beg them finally to deliver my stuff. Some of the stuff was damaged later. I filed in for claim, but they don't send the documents to filing company. I have been waiting for 2 months to even move that request. so had to loose that money as well. The call center folks are rude and they don't care what your problem is, they have standard answers.. driver not available, driver on lunch, staff out of office, staff on lunch. pity bad service.

i was ready to pay what they asked but all I asked for was good service.

  5. Review of move.

Global Movers & Storage tell you it will take 7-21 days to move you. No matter what they tell you, plan on it taking at least 14 days. They will also tell you they will pick up your belongings either the day before or the day after a date you set. Do not plan on the day you want. The driver is suppose to call you 1 day before they come. We were called the day of then sat and waited hours for them to come. Plan on paying extra for for blankets used to wrap your belongings.
We were told someone would call a the week before our delivery. We were called a week before we requested delivery. Our belongings had not even been loaded on the truck the day we were expecting delivery. We waited 5 more days. The drivers called the day before they delivered. We sat and waited for them to call the next day. They called the wrong number, instead of calling the alternative number they delivered to someone else, we had to call them to find out they would not deliver that day. We were told they would deliver the next morning at 8:00 am. They finally showed up after many phone calls to the driver and to customer service.
The boxes did not arrive in the best condition. We had some broken glasses that had been packed in bubble wrap and the box lined with bubble wrap. The box was also clearly marked Fragile and Glass on the outside. The boxes looked like they had been thrown around or had something heavy placed on top of them.
When I called customer service I had accidentally called the sales department. Instead of telling me I had called the wrong number the person who answered said he would send me to the manager. I got a voice mail. I hung up and called right back. I got the same person who did not say Hello or how can I help you. When I said hello, he said "I said hello." Then he was so rude to me.
The only nice thing I can say about this move was we did not have to do the lifting.
