Grid Iron Movers

Professionalism and damages.

I hired Grid Iron Movers to load my household belongings for a move from Illinois to Arizona.  While they were polite, well mannered and hard working, they also were more brawn than brain when it came to loading the truck and moving some awkward pieces. We had a queen sized sofa bed in the basement that had to come up. In the process, the drywall on the basement stairway took several big hits..Grid Iron agreed to pay for the drywall repairs after receiving a quote from our handyman.  The work was done, Grid Iron's owner, Eddie, came by to check it and pick up the written invoice he requested, BUT he never paid for the work.  The same sofa was torn in several places due to their mis-handling bringing it up the stairs. I want to add that the sofa had made two previous trips up and down those stairs, over the years, without any damage to it or the walls. Additionally, several other pieces of furniture sustained minor damage due to the way they were placed on the truck. Part of what I was paying for was the expertise of the movers in handling and loading furniture.  Grid Iron did not satisfy this requirement. When Eddie immediately took responsibility for the drywall damage, I was impressed.  However, his failure to follow through with payment is very unprofessional, and very disappointing.  Pretty much, he is a liar. All in all, it was a very disappointing experience.  As I said, they were a nice enough crew, but more brawn than brain.   I would not recommend Grid Iron Movers, under any circumstances.     Please note, this was a "load only" transaction.  The truck was driven to Arizona by a professional driver and then unloaded by a different moving company..not Grid Iron. .
