  1. Completely broke our antique player piano-DO NOT USE HOLLEMAN HAULING!

Absolute garbage! These guys rescheduled twice, and when they finally did show up they were hours late. They were so late my schedule didn't allow me to be home for the end of the move. I had to pick up my son from a function, so I left my other son (14 yrs old) home while they finished moving the piano into the house. There were two guys (one not an actual mover) and a rental truck with no lift. I believe it tipped over in the truck and I'm guessing it was also dropped. The hinged top was completely broken off (which he denied they did), the whole structure was twisted so bad most of the keys could not be moved at all, there were pieces broken off in at least two places and multiple scratches/gouges on the finish. Also the player mechanism no longer works. My sweet son paid them AND actually tipped these guys before they left because he thought that was the right thing to do, and these jerks took the cash! They left us a completely broken piano and scratches up our sidewalk where they obviously tried to just push it to the house. This piano was in no way in this condition before they got their hands on it. When I had Carlo come over to look at the damage he was loud and defensive, and he told me they actually haul these types of pianos to the dump all the time--as if that had anything to do with our piano!! I cancelled the check for the move (cost me $31 to do so), but even so I have more money into it for repairs than it would have cost to have them or COMPETENT MOVERS to move. I have a text from Carlo listing everything they would fix, then crickets. I've contacted them multiple times with no response. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. ANY POSITIVE REVIEWS MAY BE TRUE, BUT I GUARANTEE THE NEGATIVE ONES ARE. DO YOU WANT TO TAKE THE CHANCE?

  2. 0 stars would be appropriate.

When we pulled up to meet them at our new apartment they had our mattresses on the lawn. Stole items from our storage bins. went through our dresser drawers and moved items to other places that didn't need to be moved. shouldn't have to worry about movers going through your personal belongings, stealing items like perfumes, jewelry, etc. there was a moth in one of the bins since we had to let them store our furniture and bins due to a delay in our move-in time/day. my leather jacket was damaged due to the moth we found in that same bin. one of our rugs had this white substance on it, and when we pointed it out while they were there they just poured water over it and rubbed it off with their shoe. very disrespectful how they treated our belongings, went through belongings, and stole items. would never recommend them! I am surprised Carlo is still in business.

  3. Late, later, no-show; then harassed.

It's a shame I can't leave zero stars. We contacted Holleman to move an upright piano - the rate seemed very reasonable, and that's where anything positive about the experience ends They were scheduled to pick up the piano at 1:00p - when 1:30p rolled around and there was no sign of them, I called in and asked for a status update. The person who answered the phone didn't seem to grasp I was looking for an update and not to schedule a new move until I explained it multiple times. He told me he was going to call his crew and then call me back. He called back about 15m later, stating his crew was on another job. He then hung up with me to check GPS for how long it would be until they would arrive, and then called back to tell me it would be 3:00p at the earliest. As I had taken time off work to be available, this was obviously agitating. I begrudgingly agreed to the updated time frame. Almost an hour later, I get a text message that they won't be able to do the job on the scheduled day at all anymore. I tried calling, the call was picked up and then hung up three times; so I sent a text response back telling them that I was cancelling the job. I missed three hours of work, only to have them tell me they couldn't do anything. Communication is atrocious. Service was non-existent. Customer service is non-existent. I STRONGLY advise against EVER using this company.

I'm including a PDF showing my review on their Facebook page, a text from the business telling me to "F** off"; as well as a screen shot of the business falsely accusing me of being a sex offender (which is "why they chose not to do the job").

  4. Piano Moved.

My husband and I were more than pleased to have had Holleman Hauling move a piano to our home on such short notice and with such great care. Carlo Holleman, the owner, was respectful of all our requests and always contacted us if there were any questions.

Our piano arrived in excellent condition and just a day after we contacted Holleman Hauling. Their bid for the job was well under other bids and no quality was sacrificed.

I would recommend this company for all the right reasons.

  5. Great Service!

We utilized Holleman Hauling and movers to move a piano we had purchased. We purchased it for our daughters birthday and wanted it delivered on her birthday at a certain time. I called around to many different movers but Holleman was the only one who had availability on the day we needed and was very reasonably priced. However, I was nervous about using them after reading some negative reviews I saw online. I shouldn't have been worried. I called the owner several times to confirm everything and he was very patient and helpful. They arrived right on time and had wrapped the piano carefully to ensure it wasn't damaged in the move. The movers were polite and quick. I would definitely hire them again as the price and service couldn't be beat. They helped make my daughters birthday extra special!

  6. Warning.

Owner is incompetent and rude. Movers come completely unprepared because of his lack of organizational skills. They do a lackluster job and blame you if anything goes wrong. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from this horrendous company.

  7. Help with packing.

We employed Holleman Hauling to help us pack items into a U-Haul truck. We were moving our daughter out of a studio apartment. Holleman employees who packed our items were Tony and Nick. They did a great job, worked steadily, and arrived on time. We contracted for two hours and they got the job done in the allotted time.  I would definitely recommend them.

  8. Damaged door, nearly destroyed piano.

These unprofessional movers showed up 3 hours late, despite telling me they were 20 minutes away. They very nearly destroyed the paino I was paying them to move when it tipped off the truck. They rammed their dolly with the piano on it into my front door, ripping off the steel skin of the door. No response to calls or emails trying to resolve the issue. NEVER use these people.

  9. Non deliverd & stolen items.

Upon delivery of my furniture, several items were missing. Although my realtor watched one of the missing items (a wood stove) loaded on the truck, and I watched his crew pack other items, Mr. Holleman denied that the wood stove was ever picked up.  The other items were left behind, lost or taken.     After many emails and telephone calls requesting that the items be delivered or paid for, I could not get him to resolve the issue.  .

  10. Very poor.

We've used Holleman Hauling several times- the first few were excellent: inexpensive, prompt and cheerful. We referred them to friends liberally. But this last time was very different. Initially supposed to come at noon, texts or calls came every few hours to say they'd be there, "in 20 minutes" or, "there's been a delay, we'll be about a hour late." They finally arrived at quarter to 6:00 and when I requested a price break there was screaming and swearing (I wasn't talking to him, the mover was, but I could hear it loud and clear) before he would take 5% off the bill. I will not be using him again and will certainly not be recommending them again, either.  .

  11. Stop! Don't Use This Guy.

Look him up by phone number, and you'll see he also dabbles in bartending, personal training, and whatever else he can do to make a buck.  Came late, has no insurance, caused damage to property, and HORRIBLE communication.  I tried calling him, and emailing about our damage, and I never heard back.  Go with a name you can trust..NOT this guy.  He knows NOTHING about pianos (how to lift them, how to protect their sound boards, or protect them properly during a move), and knows less about how to run a business properly.   BEWARE!!

  12. Great!

For the prices charged Holleman is an excellent value and they do a great job moving stuff.  I refer people to them daily from my storage facility and my customers have always told me that they are awesome.  Visit emove.com and there are tons of great reviews for Holleman!

  13. Truck too small for piano.

Carlo only wanted cash.  He sent three kids and a van to move an upright piano. They arrived an hour late.  I got a call 15 minutes after their stated arrival time that they would arrive in 20 minutes.   Carlo did not come.  When I said the van was too small the kids said they would lay the piano down. The kids didn't know how to properly measure the piano. I had to do it accurately.  I'm guessing that three kids would have had quite a difficulty maneuvering an 800 lb piano onto its back and then into the van.  There would have been only about an inch of clearance if they could have lifted the piano high enough.  They only had straps and, I would suspect, not enough padding.  Anyhow, they were planning on balancing the piano on its back on the wheel wells of the van.  I said no way.  They said they would come back with a bigger truck.  They never returned.  I drove 2 hours one way to be present when they showed up.  I waited 2 hours for their return.  It would appear that Carlo has somewhat modified the title of the company..  to avoid old bad reviews?  I emailed him to ask for an explanation before I posted this review.  It has been 2 full days.  He hasn't answered.  I would only use this moving company if I had a fully written contract and full face to face evidence of bonding and insurance.  I would guess if he damages your belongings you will never hear from him again.
