  1. Intranet move

From the beginning, sales person to delivery, this move went very smooth. The crew was jovial and did a great job. We definitely would recommend and use them again.

  2. Do not use.

They had everything packed by the end of the second day and prepped for the truck the next day. When the truck came to get everything loaded, they did not bring any tools with them and did not ask if I could get any out of my big tool box that was not wrapped up and that she had access to the keys for. So when they packed the truck our bed, high boy dresser, and other furniture with legs went on the truck with the legs still on. They also took both my large ammo cans that are full that I had set to the side because I knew that they would not go on the truck and I’d have to put them in our POV I was planning on this and not a big surprised, but when I got home they were on the truck already and since they were up front and berried they didn’t want to do anything about it. Once we got moved up to NC we called the receiving Wearhouse to make sure they still planned on dropping our stuff off on the predetermined day that we set up when the truck came to pick our stuff up. But they didn’t know anything about it and had no record of our stuff being at their facility, it took them 24 hours to find our stuff and call us back that they had found it. Than they told us they couldn’t have it out to us for another two to three weeks, we contacted the supervisor/manager and that got cut down to another week. Once our stuff arrived the driver told us right off the bat we where not going to be happy because when he was getting everything ready he found a couple things broken like the highboy dresser. As they where bringing things in we started unboxing things so they could take some of the boxes and paper back with them(less for me to take to the dump), this is where things got really bad. We opened the TV box and it had all kinds of things in it suck as a metal key holder and coat hangers. We found that some of the boxes did not have any packing material in them and things were just tossed in the boxes, and some of the items were purposefully broken to fit in the box it was in, the box was too small to actually fit in the box. My wife’s saddle was put in a very large box from the garage and my car jack stands had been tossed on top of it puncturing it and putting large gauges in the leather. We also found that the head and foot board to our bed had been snapped, again because they did not bring tools to take the legs off. So we started to work on our claim for all the damaged stuff and they also sent us a review to get feed back from the move, wanting to hear how good they did. We posted everything that had gone wrong up till that point and we got a call from the owner begging us to remove the post because they are a small family run company that needs the military contract or they will go out of business and they would make sure we were happy at the end of the insurance claim. So we obliged them taking their word that we would be taken care of. We are now working on our eight month of the claim and we just got our check for much less than it should be, because they were price checking the wrong stuff to make it cheaper and were told this was the last offer take it or leave it. So we took it cause we are over dealing with this company. I will do everything I can to make sure the military movers know what has happened and I can only hope they loose the contract. We were not the only ones that had this problem coming out of FL we had someone move right before us that had the same kind of thing happen to them.

  3. Worst experience ever.

I can’t begin to tell you what an uncomfortable experience this was. Did not meet my move no later than date, destroyed my stuff and provided less than appraisal value, and I literally caught one of the movers stealing from me. When I reported it, I was told they would send me a check for the inconvenience and lack of professionalism. Not only did the check not come, when I contacted them I was told my moving agent had left and they couldn’t send the check without proof. Don’t use them for your moving needs.

  4. AVOID this company.

Worst experience ever. They robotext you and make promises that they cover up in fine print of the 12 pages of the contract. Their estimating is not accurate be prepared to face up charges for steps and storage that your lying POS sales says is free. Storage was supposed to be free but they tried to charge $250/ month for something We could have $40/month for. The sales guy blocked my phone when I called to ask about it. Avoid this company at all costs. We ended letting them keep our stuff. 12 All Clad pans, $900 in Global knives, golf clubs. Worst experience at the most stressful time. If you value your money and sanity avoid this terrible company. Interstate Moving is garbage. Dishonest. Terrible communication and business practices.Disgusting company.

  5. Claims resolution.

This review/complaint is for Interstate they are headquartered out of 5801 Rolling Road in Springfield Virginia 22152. My move was from Ft Bragg NC to Ft Polk Louisiana. Starting off this company was pretty easy to schedule being that I am a service member, it is booked through our transportation office. I have moved several times(5 PCS’s) so I understand how to differentiated between an excellent mover and a not so great moving company. My initial impression with this company was unbiased as I let you mark your own slate. Starting out, they were on time and the driver even contacted me to verify the entry road and what have you so no red flags in this department. That occurred roughly 24 hours prior to the date of pickup. The movers showed up on the day of the move and seemed normal, they gave a once over of my property to include a motorcycle and basically told me it wouldn't take long which I agreed. The first thing I saw which had me worried was how they were handling my furniture without attempts to prep it from getting scuffed and scratched as my sofa was pretty expensive. I inquired with the lead mover and he assured me that his guys were going to take care of everything. So I stayed calm and continued to monitor them as they transported my things to the truck. When my couch was taken outside, it was placed on its side on the raw concrete and then twisted. This is a genuine leather sofa we are talking, yes they are durable but simply put, they are not designed to take this form of abuse. Again I expressed my concearns with the head mover and he explained everything would be covered and taken care of. At this point I thought most of the damage is done seeing as how it was transported outside uncovered and then later placed on highly abrasive concrete and twisted. I made note and continued to monitor the movers. They continued to take the things out of the house piece by piece a bump or scrape here or there which is expected from a move but the emphasis here is no measures we taken to at least cover the pieces corners or facia. For the most part everything was moved out and loaded into the truck and the guys provided me documentation as well as told me who to contact once I established an address to be delivered. Once I made it to Louisiana and established residence I contacted the delivery scheduler and set up to be delivered within that week which was pretty painless process. The day of the move in, this process was much different. I was not given a timeline that was kept and remember having to contact the TSP to contact the guys having to deliver my things when I was told they would be over in the morning. After noon had passed I decided to leave the house and get lunch and just as I had suspected they arrived to drop off my things. I had to rush back home to ensure they were let in to handle business. Basically during the move in I verified everything was present minus a pretty expensive Tactical Tailor pack which had many items to include my class A and other uniforms was missing. Being no stranger to deployments,I had a full bag inventory already prepared in the event the worse happened so I hoped that they would find the bag but they never did. I also noticed that my expensive leather sectional was badly abbrased and the Fram of the sofa was now broken, literally snapped in two. Sections of the pillow was pulled away from the sofa and it was just badly covered in scuffs. I made the movers aware of all damages prior to them leaving the premises which they noted on the damage and missing items sheet and once again he assured me that they will take care of the process but to submit a claim via DPS to get everything going. I gathered my supporting photos and inventories uploaded into DPS and submitted my claim within roughly a week of being delivered. About three weeks went by before I ever heard anything back from the TSP which they contacted me to tell me that they were sending out an inspector to check out my damages. They sent out an inspector of SoCal claims. This process was seamless as the inspector was professional and courteous and he also asked me questions about the property missing and damaged. I forwarded him the detailed inventory of my lost bag as well as all the receipt that I was given from a local furniture store to replace my sofa with one comparable and of the same brand. I again didn't hear anything for roughly another 3 weeks when I was contacted my the claims adjuster who stated she needed more info which was the same info that I had provided to the inspector and that was on his report. When I called to get a status of my claim she was very secretive of where my claim was in the process and how they were handling it. Each time I called, she continued to treat me as if I was asking her for someone's personally identifiable information or as if it wasn't my damaged goods I was talking about. I finally got a very low offer on my things. I decided to rebut the offer on the Sofa and the Pack as they were short $2500 and $800 respectively coming up short of my total request by roughly $3300. Here is the tricky part they sent me a letter stating they were giving me full replacement value of my sofa….of 1800 which was totally insulting as they priced a cheap bonded leather sofa versus my brand and type. My sofa was stated on every piece of paperwork the brand name and type of sofa it was but the claims examiner still continued to play oblivious to that fact. They would not even consider the rebuttal for my bag which included the DA type inventory that all service members do with packed bags. They finished the original review in exactly the 60 days that they had to address it and then sat on a response to my rebuttal for roughly three weeks just to tell me they were sticking with the original decision and not giving me more for my damaged goods. In all my claim was $7400 which was still being extremely lenient with what I was requesting from them but they still chose to undercut me and lowball. I contacted our league team onPolk and they provided the black and white proof to Interstate and requested they reconsider my offer. They basically said that Per refer to the SDDC, The Defense Personal Property Program Claims and Liability Business Rules 1.1.2.2 a transportation provider is to replace items, where the repair cost exceeds replacement cost, with an undepreciated fair market replacement cost of a new item. The new item should be from the same manufacturer and should be the same make and model if possible. They tried to replace a genuine leather sofa with a bonded leather sofa when they had the make model and type and also its clear that the two items were Otho get of the same quality or appearance. The larger problem here too is the customer service is down right terrible specifically the claims examiner as I said before she treated me as if I was the one who damage their equipment/ property. All I want in this situation is fair resolution and not to be low balled on an offer when I had quality furniture that was not broken or scuffed prior to this move occurring. I'm not sure how or when a inventory of a bag has not been acceptable and I was cheated on my value with that as well. It is roughly 90 days after I have filled a claim and still no resolution from this TSP. I just want to be fairly compensated for the loss and damage of my items but it seems here that I'm pleading a case and then being forced to wait until they feel like addressing the issue with them. Terrible experience to say the least. I most definitely would not use this company or recommend them to anyone looking for "Top Hat service".

  6. Horrible PCS.

Worst Company EVER!! (Military Move), if I could give them zero stars I would! My family and I PCS'd to the NOVA area from Alabama in DEC. It is April and I am still waiting on claims to reimburse me for over 3,000$ dollars in damages. We have had many military moves and this by far has been the WORST! I have had to call them numerous times to receive an update on concerns that they should of handled promptly. The only way to get anything resolved is to call them daily and remind someone to do their job! When we PCS I will make sure this company stays far away from my household goods. I could honestly go on about how this company handled my move (Lost items, almost every piece of furniture damaged, damages to my property, etc..).

  7. Customer Service.

I can not say enough good things about Interstate Relocation Services. I spoke with Stephen who was pleasant, professional, forthcoming, and honest. I decided to go another route with my move, but had I been able to book a moving company, it would've been Interstate Relocation Services, hands down. Stephen contacted me several times through the course of my long distance move education, he went above and beyond to help me with each and every one of my questions and concerns, and he did absolutely everything he could possibly do to meet my needs. After talking to dozens of moving companies in my area, there is only one I would personally book with, and only one I would strongly recommend to a friend. Use Interstate Relocation Services for your next move. If their moving services are HALF as good as their customer service and support, then you couldn't ask for a more pleasant moving experience.

  8. Excellent Move.

Thanks to Interstate Moving Systems I was giving as close to a stress move as your going to have. Aaron gave me a free quote that was lower then the rest of the movers which had me worry that there would be more charges. Not only did the price remain the same but the services was the best part of the whole move. They worked very hard and I Couldn't help but to give them 30 bucks each. I know who im using on my next move.

  9. Better at selling you on the move than delivering.

I was referred to Interstate by a friend who had a good experience with a local move.  The salesperson who came to do the estimate was very personable but dealing with the company going forward was not a friendly experience.   First, I had a personal item taken out of my house the day of the move, and when I reported it immediately that day the company refused to take any responsibility.   Next, the weight of the load was 50% over the estimate, and so I insisted it be reweighed at delivery and it turned out to be only 70% over which was a big  cost difference on a 10,000 pound load.    The driver then told me the scales are often off, but had I not insisted that it be reweighed, I would have spent five thousand more for weight charges over the original estimate.
At delivery, rather than cover the carpets with pads lots of dirt was tracked on the carpet.  I gave the driver a generous tip to be shared with the crew, and apparently he took it and did not disperse it because the local crew hired to unload came back to my door to tell me that he did not give them the tip.   It was very unprofessional, and uncomfortable and unsettling to have them reappear at my door as if I would tip them again.
I know most moves are not without challenges, and I will say that I had little breakage.  They did refuse to reimburse my claim on the personal item that was taken from my house the day of the initial move and they would not consider any responsibility in the matter.  You might get a pleasant salesperson that seals the "deal" but don't expect that friendly cooperative attitude to continue with the people you will have to work with through the moving process
     .

  10. Don't contract.

This company picked up our items from climate control storage, opened the crates (they were not suppose to) and left our things sitting on a truck for two weeks. The contacts for military moves were horrible, rude and at one point I wanted to choke one. By the time we got our belongings and went thru them we ended up with over 7000 in missing or damaged items. Not sure how that is going to work out, can't see them jumping to pay that out.

  11. Fraudulent service.

I have experience the worse moving service ever with Interstate, even FRAUDULENT acts were performed on that day by the crew members. I don't think that I should have paid anything for that service since FRAUD WAS INVOLVED and the quality of service that Interstate promised to provide were never offered. I experienced the following:
1)A very inexperience crew (of 4 people) was sent to take care of the moving. There was no a crew manager involved, and the person that was supposed to be in charge of the moving, didn't showed any experience in this area. Besides being very rude,he didn't even understood the working papers that I had to sign on that date.
2)The estimate that Interstate did for my moving services (that unfortunately I end up paying) was supposed to have of course a crew manager, so I overpayed for a service that wasn't provided to me, after meeting the inexperience crew that performed the moving.
3)When the interstate sales person came over to my house to make the initial estimate she inspected all the furniture that was supposed to be moved without any problem. She assured me that the the furniture was going to be moved without any problem. The day of the moving the crew didn't HAVE A CLUE ON HOW TO DISSASEMBLED MY FURNITURE so the alternative way they took was by breaking them.
4)I experienced a FRAUDULENT service from the crew members. Since they broke the living room big china armoire and the master bedroom bed when disassembling them, they tried to hide it by taping the pieces. They performed the assembling back without mentioning anything, thinking that I was not going to notice anything. Unfortunately I did realized of everything. THIS IS TOTALLY A FRAUD!!
5)The crew members were informed SEVERAL TIMES, of things that they were supposed to move, before I left the house going to the destination house in mclean. They didn't move a big TV that I told them to move, either they were not interested in listening or I don't know what other type of problems they had. The person in charge didn't had the address of the house, he asked me for it, I couldn't believe this, they were not prepared at all. This person was also complaining about the weight of the drawers of a dresser that they were supposed to do, wha is this?? Didn't I paid for this service, was I supposed to received bad faces from the crew manager when performing the services, were they to many, too heavy?? PLEASE!! I Paid for it, where is the customer service quality!!
6)The crew members that were also sent to do the "TOP HAT SERVICE" packing did a really bad job too. They didn't protect very important an expensive things, like paintings, ceramic things, etc. Also in the original estimate I paid for some packaging materials that they didn't use, like dishpack cartons, many wardrobe cartons etc. I call to ask for the refund but no answers at all.

I would personally would never recommend this company, very bad experience.
