  1. Low estimate to get business and large invoice later.

We decided to book this company well in advance for our end of June move from Salem OR to Vancouver WA. Their prices were low compared to competitors and we noticed they were a newly opened, local area, family owned business. When I asked about taxes they told me that taxes were included in the rate of their $138/hr for 2 men and 1 truck as they pay their own taxes. They also quoted me with no additional mileage charges as “they” (katlyn) were going to waive those but normally charge $1.00 per mile anything over 30. I agreed to book them and no deposit was required. Now here we’re are less than 2 weeks from my scheduled move and I get an invoice that is significantly different from what was quoted. My husband called them and they denied ever quoting us those prices. The owner put her husband on the phone to talk to mine and the conversation escalated. When I called to de-escalate and figure out the price difference the owner was pleasant and seemed like she wanted to make it right but her husband (the crew mover) told us no because it was a “pride issue” and “just couldn’t do the job anymore.”

So now I’m sitting here trying to figure out a short notice move that is considered long distance.

When I looked up their business online through wa.gov.sos they have a valid license but I am unable to find out if they are licensed and bonded.

The owner told me their moving truck was currently in the shop and they are contracted with uhaul. Not sure the specifics but just be careful of this company as the prices don’t match up.

    Good luck.

  2. Do Not Hire!!!

Do not hire this company!!! I recently hired them on 4/27 to move my items out of a storage unit and first off, they were over an hour late. They called ten minutes prior to arrival time to say they are 45 minutes to an hour behind schedule. They arrived an hour and 15 minutes late. I understood as moving jobs can take longer and things happen. They then showed up with a truck too small. I explained my unit was a 10x20 prior to my reservation and they said either a 26 foot or 17 foot. I said there will be plenty of space in a 26 foot and not enough in a 17 foot. They then see my unit and tried to say I should have told them I needed a bigger truck, which I did. Come to find, the woman (Katelynne) told me that they can’t find trucks larger than 17 feet in the area due to the pandemic and their truck is in the shop, therefore they knew they didn’t have a larger truck the entire time. Having a smaller truck made the move much longer than we both anticipated because it took two trips and couldn’t fully finish the job as they had other people to serve, too.

I later receive a phone call from my storage unit manager telling me that one of the guys broke the entry door that is used for emergencies only and they have it on camera. He kicked the door multiple times and used his body to force the door open. I notified the team at the end of my move and wrote on my receipt that I am not liable or responsible for the damages. The owners Katelynne and Ronnie said that the guy barely tapped the door, but would take care of it with the storage unit and I would not be liable or responsible.

I contacted the storage unit the next day and they said they had talked to the company, but were not given their insurance information or CCB number when asked. We were waiting for the technician to come out the following day (4/29) for the full price and would try to get the information again from the company. Today, 4/29, I was contacted by the storage unit and once again, the moving company did not give their insurance information or CCB number. They told the storage unit they have a separate “fund” for these type of things. The moving company thinks I had ghosted them because I had not paid for their services yet or answered their calls about payment. I was advised by law enforcement to not pay them until they gave their information to the storage unit and paid the damages in full. I contacted the moving company today to advise them what I was told by law enforcement and legal as a police report is filed by the storage unit and now myself that they completely broke the door and dented it, which will be over $2000 in damages, again all caught on camera. They have yet to respond to me and I also asked for their USDOT number, CCB number, and insurance information, which they have not responded with either. So either they are not insured, licensed, and bonded as they put on their website or they are trying to avoid paying for their damages. Do not trust or hire this company! I have filed a police report and am seeking legal counsel against this company. I hope this horrible experience can prevent this from happening to another innocent person.
