  1. Absolutely not. God knows when I will get my furniture.

Please do not go with Kangaroo Van Lines. I ended up paying $2,000 more than I was quoted. In addition to that, they gave me a delivery window of 14 days. No one ever reached out to tell me that they'd be late. Today was the last day in their window. They just told me that my furniture will be leaving the facility in 2 - 5 days. How long is it going to take to get delivered? No idea. I've been camping in my home, waiting for 3 full weeks. They don't seem to care at all. Mike Evans was so keen on saying that he would be with me every step of the way. haven't heard from him since my furniture was picked up. He screens my calls and forwards my emails to Mona Sanchez. Save yourself the hassle. This is a terrible company with zero customer support.

  2. One bedroom apartment interstate move.

I assigned 1 star, because you cannot assign zero. Our "service" began with a telephone quote from Jerry, the Sales Consultant. He verbally reviewed with us (although most reputable companies actually do an in-home review to provide an accurate estimate) over the phone everything that was contained within our son's one bedroom apartment. He estimated 464 cubic feet. He gave us an initial estimate of $2200. We stressed to him multiple times that we need a solid delivery date of August 4, 2017. He stated "I can make that happen if you give me flexibility on the pick-up date". We stated that would be fine. We would hire a local proxy to be at pick-up on the "flexible" date, since my son would have already left the apartment of pick-up. He stated that we would need to pay $1154 deposit, and also leave a check with the proxy for $600, which is what we did.
Two days prior to the anticipated pickup, "Todd" called from Kangaroo Van Lines, and reviewed the item list with my son. Although nothing changed from the initial discussion of the items listed, Todd stated that it sounds more like 550 cubic feet, and increased the price by $700! At this point, we did not have time to select a new company, so we were stuck with the higher rate. I called the company to argue this, and the representative was very unprofessional and yelled at me that "it did not matter".
On pickup day, the movers terrorized my proxy. They kept demanding $700 more in CASH, although we had left the instructed amount with the proxy. They also added $150 more, due to a long carry, which had not been discussed beforehand. Once again, since we were states away, we advised the proxy to hand over the money (in personal check), and we would have to argue this later with the company. I tried multiple times to call them that day, and they were closed, so I had no other option at the time.
They forgot to load the desk, the artificial $100 plant, and the swiffer. Later when I discussed this with management, they stated that "this was my fault". They left the plant in the foyer of the apartment building, which was found hours later by the proxy.
I waited for my multiple messages to be returned to no avail. Finally I reached the company. Heather and Tasha from Customer Service were polite, but they referred my concerns to Susan, "she is just below the owner of the company". I called Susan and she told me that "I had no recourse" concerning the forgotten items, nor did she have any explanation or solution regarding the $700 additional charge, and she literally hung up the phone on me.
On August 3, we travelled six hours to be at the place of delivery on August 4, the date that Jerry had promised us for delivery. We waited for three days, and no furniture showed up. We therefore had to spend a lot of money on hotel fees while waiting. Our son had to stay and move into his empty apartment to start graduate school. He slept on the floor for 14 days, and developed pneumonia while waiting for his furniture.
Finally, on August 15 we received an email from the company that our furniture had been loaded at the warehouse, and we should "text the driver" for details concerning delivery. The email stated that he would notify us 24-48 hours in advance of delivery. I left multiple text and phone messages for the driver, with no reply. Finally, he called us with a 17 hour notice that the furniture would be delivered (fourteen days later than "promised" by Jerry). We now had 17 hours to ask our 72 year old parents to drive there to be the proxies for delivery, as we were all busy with work, and had not been able to plan any further ahead, since we could not contact the driver.
When the driver showed up (he was polite), he apologized that his assistant did not show up for work, and he would not be able to lift all of the furniture himself, so he was going to continue on to Boston. That would mean probably 4-5 more days to wait for delivery.
Therefore, my 72 year old father offered to help him unload all of the furniture. They first had to remove the Boston furniture, then my son's furniture from this large truck. Here I had spent $3000 so my 72 year old father could move the furniture.
The office chair was missing. We had to spend more money to buy a new chair, and desk, and artificial plant, and swiffer.
If you add up all of the additional costs, hotel fees, mental anguish, it probably taxed me more than the $3000 that I paid.
There are a lot of reputable moving companies out there. Next time I move, I plan to do my research. This company is not even a member of the BBB.

  3. So Awful!!

This company is so terrible. I can't stress enough to stay away. They lied to me many times about when my stuff was going to arrive. My daughter sat in an empty apartment without her furniture or clothes for over a week. Daily they would say - oh we don't have an update yet? They originally told us a two day window - well it showed up 7 days after that. Customer service is mean and rude and almost impossible to get a hold of. Then when they did shop up they wanted more money because there big truck wouldn't fit down a NYC street. Wouldn't you think they would figure that out when giving me the quote? Worst experience !

  4. Move from Iowa to Texas.

Chose them based on they showed they were BBB accredited. This is not true. There is a BBB accredited company with same name based out of CA, not the same owners and definitely not BBB accredited level of service. Please do not confuse the two companies! They hired 'movers' off Craigslist without a background check or ounce of personal information. One of them walked off with my 65" TV and I have yet to get a replacement after being assured the company would replace. One box was completely soaked and several items ruined and/or missing. Still waiting on reimbursement for that also. They changed a contract after I signed it to be in their favor. They have repeatedly lied and every interaction with them required more money, after my first call I was told they were a flat fee moving company. I was threatened each time with them holding my items in storage until they received their money. They aren't returning my emails/texts. I'm demanding everything in writing and they refuse to comply. Worst experience I've ever encountered.
