  1. Bad Move by King Relocation Services - United agent.

We had a bad move. It started with the salesman telling us that he could get us used cartons so that we could pack our non-breakables and save money.  He only got us small boxes.  We bought over $200 of boxes from Home Depot. Loading day was no better.  The driver was Steve - do not ever accept him as your driver. The movers ran out of tape before they were half way through the pack - they used the tape that we bought to complete the packing.   The movers did not have any mirror boxes for pictures, art and glass.  So our item were wrapped in padding. Annoyances so far, no real big problem yet. The first big problem was that the company decided to add another load to ours.  It didn't fit.  The wardrobes that we packed were upended, opened, heavy boxes were put on top of our clothes and the wardrobes sealed.  Our refrigerator was opened and filled with anything that could fit.  Our wrapped items were repacked in mirror boxes and smaller boxes.  A bicycle was taken apart.  Steve told us to be grateful as the other people's matresses were tied to the back of the van. Next big problem was delivery.  The movers crushed the concrete under our door - when I showed Steve, he said that our builder should repair the concrete.  Many items were damaged due to the over loading - chairs, end tables, armores, a tea cart, a clock, a straw hat, suit buttons were cut off.  And, of course, our clothes needed pressing due to the boxes being inserted in our wardrobes.  And the movers did not assemble all the items that they disassmbeld for the move. The final problem was the handling of our claim.  We purchsed full repalcement, $0 deductible insurance.  Other than the furniture repair and a parial amount for the bicycle that was not reassembled because the parts could not be located, our claim was rejected.  Steve denied the concrete breakage and stated that our cars were parked in our garage, even though they used the garage as a staging area as it rained during the unloading.  And my car was availble for me to buy their lunch. They denied coverage on every other item as we packed some items.  Even items that were delivered in mirror boxes.   After much back and forth with Paula Miller (Director for P&M Soluitons, LLC) who was the insurance  company's claim adjuster, we got nowhere.  A $137 check  from King Relocation Services was all she would approve.  So I spoke with Steve Komorous, who runs King's Sante Fe Springs location.  He asked me to send him our info and he would review our claim.  He just sent it on to Paula Miller who wrote back that the $137 was it.  She also wrote that she was a "prior Driver." In summary, the salesman didn't deliver.  The driver lied.  The insurance company claim adjuster was a driver.  And the moving company owns the insurance company. Do not use King Relocation Soluitons, the United agent in Sante Fe Springs California.    .

  2. Damages.

This was the second time we used King Relocation services. The first time was 4 years prior and we had no issues. The move from Arizona back to California was extremely dissappointing. We were upsold a full replacement insurance by Christine Evans which turned out to be worthless. When our furniture was delivered after being in storage for a couple of months we had an antique rocking chair which had an entire rail split open, 2 shelves broken in an antique amoire, a piece broken off an antique buffet, scratches on wood on a loveseat, glass scratched on an antique china cabinet, a chunk out of an antique buffet and a shattered panasonic plasma television set. Even the gentleman from the insurance company stated it had to have been dropped to have shattered the way it did. The damages to the furniture was repaired with some satisfaction. However, the company handling the moving claim by the name of P&M Solutions has denied our claim for the television set as we packed the set ourselves. We packed it for our previous move with absolutely no issue. Why were we sold full replacement insurance when it was worthless is disturbing. There is no value to the extra insurance if they can damage whatever they want if you packed it. Christine knew we were packing our own things as we did before. We have left numerous messages for her, hoping for some feedback with absolutely no response. Additionally, the representative from P&M Solutions, Paulette Miller originally told us they would pick up our television and resolve the claim quickly. Today, we received an email staing they were denying the claim. The lack of professionalism and response times has been less than satisfactory. Obviously, once a move has been paid for there is a lack of concern for the damages. Additionally, they charged us almost $300 on our credit card with no explanation even whe we called 3 times. Absolutely no response from Christine or anyone in the office. Thank you for an opportunity to vent. .
