Kissel Moving and Storage

Yuck.

The movers were extremely rude. I had only 13 medium weight boxes that needed to be moved for a 12-mile distance. They complained about the work. The boxes had to be picked up from the garage of a townhome to be moved to an apartment complex with an elevator. They charged me $300 for this minimal service. On top of it, they insisted that I pay them before they unloaded. I asked them to put the boxes down in my apartment and said I will then pay them. At this, they started threatening me and moving out my boxes. I told them that I did not want to be in the apartment with them and asked them to please wait while I got the money. They refused to listen and started complaining saying that I owe them $500 instead of the $300 that I had agreed upon. I asked my building supervisor to come there and stay until I made the payment and they left. I called their 'company' to inform them and was immediately put on hold. After several minutes of being on hold, I disconnected. I will not use their services again and would not recommend them to anyone. It is not a safe practice to be alone in a house or apartment with strange people and this company should understand that. I do understand that sometimes people may default on payments but there is a reasonable way to deal with this without threatening people. I have moved more than a dozen times in the last several years and not once did I experience problems with movers including interstate moves.
