Items Missing
In Sept. 0f 2021 LCMS moved my furnishings 4.3 miles to my new home. They presented me with my teakwood table from Sweden with both legs broken. A teakwood bench was never shown to me but the repairman Matt Wood said it was in pieces when he delivered it to me after repairs along with the aforementioned table. I have had a Howard Miller chime clock for 46 years and they managed to dent the side rendering the clock useless. This clock had been moved three times with one of them cross country with no problems. Again, LCMS couldn't move it 4.3 miles without damaging it. My wife passed away in Nov. 2003. Many items were extremely important to me and are now missing. She bought me a Seiko Chronograph on my 42nd birthday 29 years ago and that is now missing. My gold wedding band, bracelets, and several rings are now missing. The funeral director took an imprint of my wife's thumb and made a gold necklace for myself and my two daughters. That gold necklace is now missing. There is no value anyone including myself could place on that gift. I am now crying as I write this because of this tremendous loss of a little thumbprint. I have called about these damages and they blocked me telling me they have never had any complaints. LCMC is a family business but is run more like a little mafia. This is a business that should never be allowed to lie, cheat and steal again.
Damaged Refrigerator
In July of 2021 I contacted Las Cruces Moving & Storage for a local move of 7 miles. Furniture made this short trip without incident but my VERY expensive and 2yr. old refrigerator did not. For some reason the crew was able to get the frig out of one house but not into the new place which has standard size doors. When my husband saw the difficulty they were having he advised them to take the front door of the house off. there was still little clearance and they turned the frig many different directions in the process scratching the front of the appliance and also denting it. When I complained to the manager, Elizabeth immediately that day, I was told that this was not there responsibility and I should have hired a contractor!! Really? This was never mentioned beforehand. I have moved about every 5 yrs throughout my life and never had an appliance damaged before. LCMS denied any liability and eventually paid me $180. based on .60 per pound!! I would never deal with them again.
Lost and/or stolen and broken items.
We began a local move, but ended up renting on a temporary basis and entrusting our personal items with this moving and storage company being assured that everything would be safely stored, first on a truck and later moved into a "vault". When the personal items were moved to our new home, many items were missing, most noticeably two large screen (43 and 60") t,vs and two totem poles as well as many items broken despite the fact that they were individually wrapped and in boxes labeled "Fragile". The broken items could only have occurred due to carelessness or intent. We reported the missing items on the delivery invoice, and followed up with several calls and e-mails to the moving company. Their employee was dismissive and said they were too busy to address this issue and that they "had already discussed this with us". The owners later denied any liability whatsoever for lost, stolen, or broken items, and have, in effect accused us of making up the large screen t.v.s (the most expensive items left in their possession) even though they delivered the users' manuals we had in storage and we have an invoice showing purchase.
