  1. HORRIBLE OFFICE MANAGEMENT

I see a lot of feedback about the movers but my issue is with the company. They treat their staff like trash. The office manager is completely unprofessional in her treatment of their staff and it’s no wonder they aren’t showing up to work happy and healthy. Definitely need a new office manager. If you have any question about choosing this moving company and have any care for workers rights and the labor rights movement- absolutely do not hire this company.

  2. Excellent Service and Professional Workers

I used Leaders 3 times in the last 2 months. Movers included Marvin, Stephon, Darnell, Teon, Dwight and Leon. All were excellent and took care of my very heavy bedroom sets, table/hutch set, variety of chairs, book shelves, office furniture, file cabinets and 50 boxes mainly full of heavy books. They handled my property with great care and didn’t scratch or dent a single item or wall during any of the three moves. I even referred them to a family member who had the same positive experience. I will not be using any other movers again Except for this company.

Two of the workers even smelled gas, which I thought I was smelling. Sure enough, I had a small gas leak from a new gas line put in my home just days before. They even noticed that and said something. I am very grateful for Dwight and Teon for noticing the smell.

I cannot say enough good things about this company—including those who took my order and tracked my items through my phone calls as I added and deleted items to my move. THIS COMPANY IS EXCELLENT.

  3. Moving

Had a great experience with our move! Respectful punctual and professional! Mike and Tyler were a great team and worked so hard!

  4. Refused to wear masks

If you are at all concerned about your health or that of a loved one, do not use this company. When we told the movers they couldn't come in without masks (elderly people live here), they said we couldn't have our furniture. They eventually put on their masks and delivered our items. Moves are stressful enough without things like this happening.

  5. Do not use Leaders.

My condo building requires masks due to COVID-19 which Leaders blatantly disregarded. This caused many of the home owners to complain, and rightfully so. And to think, that was the least of our issues. Next, it took Leaders 10 hours to load only about half of our stuff from our 2 bedroom 1400 sqf condo. Due to it being almost 10 pm management told the workers to bring the truck back to the warehouse where they would lock it up for the night, but luckily the workers decided to meet us at the destination to unload. To help speed up the process, myself and 5 friends unloaded the truck. I was told that management would continue with the move first thing in the morning. Not only did they not do that, but they didn't even reach out to me. I was the one that initiated the calls to only be contacted back in the afternoon. It was at this time I told them that I had no confidence they would be able to uphold the contract and took care of the move myself with 8 friends.

The move didn't occur to plan but I thought Leaders would make up for it after the fact. Not only did they not try to make it right, but they have the audacity to charge full price for a move that required myself unloading and finishing the other half of the move.

I am not sure what they have done to receive positive reviews, but I can confidently state that this was the worst moving and customer experience I have ever encountered. I can not and will not ever recommend Leaders for any transaction.

  6. My terrible experience with Leaders.

I have moved many times and received so much better

Service. ALL of my antiques were scratched and the packing they did was deplorable. Many of my treasured belongings were broken. None of my antiques were wrapped as I was told would happen. The boxes were too large and heavy

And I couldn't pick them. I have never seen belongings packed as they did. There were many things packed without any paper. They were just thrown into the boxes. The problems go on and on. I have to agree Marcy Cohn & Lisa

Barck. Do not use this company.

  7. Horrible experience.

Our move was in June 2020. We first provided this feedback in response to Leaders automated feedback request immediately following our move and received no response. We also provided this feedback to our Moving Consultant (salesperson) again with no response. As part of our claim resolution our Claims Manager told us that the Operations Manager would be contacting us; we never heard from them.

Leaders normally gets very good reviews; maybe our expectations were too high for our first time using a large moving company. Or maybe they are better for local moves. Either way we would not recommend Leaders.

This was our first inter-state move and the first move using a large moving company. We got estimates from 4 moving companies. Our Leaders salesperson told us that their estimate would probably come in higher because other moving companies gain efficiencies by having multiple clients share the same truck which was something that Leaders did not do; this was one of the main reasons we chose Leaders. BUYER BEWARE: THERE IS NOTHING IN THEIR CONTRACT THAT STATES YOU ARE GUARANTEED TO HAVE YOUR OWN TRUCK. Two days before our move we received the call to confirm and provide our credit card information. Literally one minute later they called back to say "I just received some new information on your move; you are going to be sharing your truck". We were so upset; not because we thought Leaders would get our items mixed in or not deliver on schedule but because we were told we would have our own truck. It was only made worse when they were packing the truck and could not fit all of our items on our portion of the truck. They had to come back the next morning to pick up the remaining items and then somehow rearranged the items on the truck to get them to fit. After complaining, Leaders gave us a $500 credit on our $12,000 move to accommodate; not exactly the shared truck price reduction we were expecting (or that we would have received if we chose a different moving company).

Their marketing of "we treat things differently" is a joke. Boxes marked fragile meant nothing especially when they were doing everything they could to get all of our stuff on the shared truck. One of the movers literally hung from the top of the inside of the truck and used his feet to try to kick boxes into small spaces. We were dumbfounded.

The driver tried to get us to sign the paperwork saying everything had been loaded on the truck when there were 6 wardrobe boxes and miscellaneous garage items that were still sitting in the garage because they didn't fit on the truck. We didn't sign it. Then when they came to pick up the remaining items no one had any paperwork so I had to sign both Origin and Destination paperwork at the Destination.

We knew this in advance, but know that if Leaders has no offices at your destination the crew (other than the driver) will be contracted by Leaders (i.e. not Leaders employees).

The crew kept overloading themselves while bringing our possessions in. One of the movers brought in two items at the same time both wrapped in only moving blankets by Leaders; one was a vacuum cleaner, the other was a floor vase (artwork). The floor vase (not replaceable) slid through his arms right in front of us and was damaged as it dropped on the ceramic tile floor.

There was a list of damages to the newly installed flooring and shoe molding; all damages were just carelessness.

Many corners of furniture are damaged because of them placing on end on ceramic tile to move (couch legs, edges of armoire legs, etc.)

The Claims Manager was fairly responsive. Other than the flooring repairs we reported damage to 12 articles (furniture and artwork). Leaders did resolve our claim in a timely manner once we had everything submitted and the repair estimates that Leaders arranged were provided.

  8. Unprofessional and dishonest.

I would not trust this company to move a single item. After assuring us that they could handle a large move, they sent two people to move us into our home. The employees left without completing the move. When we called to complain, the representative was extremely rude. When we asked for a discount, they did not respond. I feel that this company is incompetent, unprofessional, and dishonest.

  9. Leaders Moving & Storage Co. is GREAT!

At the end of August, during unbearably-hot weather, I moved from Hilliard OH to New Albany OH with the help of Leaders Moving & Storage Co. I had not moved in almost 20 years and was somewhat nervous..that is, until I met Bob Riggs #1060 and Taylor Willis #1752.
These young men are absolutely marvelous with their continuous customer service, non-ending enthusiasm and incredible energy! They were sooooo wonderful that I had found I had nothing to worry about.
Bob and Taylor are excellent examples of what every employer wants to represent their company..and they are excellent examples of fine young men!
I will certainly call the Leaders Moving & Storage Co. for any future needs and will always be appreciative of the kindness shown by Bob and Taylor.
Thank you to LEADERS MOVING & STORAGE CO., Bob and Taylor!
Sincerely, Jeanne Bentley, 7170 Winterbek Ave., New Albany OH 43054, telephone (614) 906-9752.

  10. Property Damage.

We had a horrible experience with Leaders. Among other problems, they were simply reckless with the furniture they moved for us. Leaders damaged many of the items they moved for us and they were impossible to work with when asked to address the damage claims. Notably, Leaders plainly ignores applicable federal regulations including (1) the time period during which a claim can be filed--federal law provides that a mover must allow no less than 9 months to file a claim, yet Leaders attempts to limit that time period to 60 days in clear violation of the regulations, and (2) Leaders, unsurprisingly, ignores the federal regulations mandating the process for disclosing to consumers their rights thereunder.

We paid extra for "full replacement value coverage", and the only benefit we derived from paying the extra money was that Leaders demanded that we pay a higher deductible ($500, rather than $100) for the wholly inadequate repairs they performed.

Leaders quoted the cheapest rates, and we got what we paid for .. Go back--it's a trap.

  11. Horrible move damaging items & home.

Horrible move damaging items & home -
This two day local move resulted in broken, lost, and damaged furniture and damage to the home I was moving from.
The piano was jammed into part of the concrete sidewalk and steps, causing the wood and lacquer to buckle.
An end table disappeared, and I discovered a broken oscillating fan (hidden?) under my Christmas tree in the basement.
A queen size bed apparently encountered trauma in the move so would no longer reassemble "square."
My daughter's bed was reassembled using only half of the screws/hardware available. I found the other half on the floor the next morning, and what was put in was not even finger tight. I had to completely reassemble it and was just lucky she didn't get hurt.
They left foot long gouges in the stairway drywall (some completely going through the drywall so that you can see light through) while moving a sofa out of the basement.
They skipped the coat closet and the stored items in part of the basement so that my husband had to move them himself with the minivan. (Apparently at least one mover was running late to meet his girlfriend (which is why he was texting her multiple times). Perhaps this may explain some of the other issues?)
About 25% of the boxes were put in the wrong room as movers carried 2 boxes at a time and delivered them both to the same place regardless of how they were marked.

Now at a month past the move, I have yet to even be contacted by the vendor assigned to repair the drywall, despite my requests for speed since the house is currently on the market. However, I was informed by a Leaders claims representative that their idea of the repair plan apparently involves patching the drywall and then "color matching" paint rather than painting everything that is continuous. (Because matching white paints is super easy and that "just one wall freshly painted" look is going to seem so normal to prospective buyers?!)

Leaders refunded $235 for the work that was skipped and to attempt to generate good will, but as the repair process drags on and seems destined to fall short of making things as good as they were before, it comes nowhere close to making up for this move.
