  1. Similar experience to other reviewers.

Same as previous reviewers.  Salesperson was super nice and the price was great.  But when they delivered my belongings, suddenly I owed them almost double what was quoted. Driver was antagonistic and scary.  Like other reviewers, not only did I have to pay the extra $ BEFORE ddriver would unpack, but I had to sign a paper saying, basically, that the move and my belongings were all completed satisfactorily and that I had  inspected the truck and none of my items were left in the truck.  and I was forced to sign this BEFORE the driver would start unloading.
Worst part was driver trying to extort even more money after the unloading was done.
Same as other posters, items missing from inventory, was charged for a crate and 2 large picture boxes and none of these things were delivered. Squooshed boxes.
The movers/drivers are aggressively trying to rip off the customers.  Not sure whose fault this is tho -- LV contracts out the move itself, so I'm not even sure it was LV employees who picked up and delivered my stuff.
Submitted a claim, waiting to see what happens next.

  2. Careless, negligent, near extortion.

My wife and I contracted with LV Moving to deliver our goods from American Canyon, CA, to Fort Collins, CO. We had used LV Moving in the past and had a good experience. When I initially spoke with Mike at LV, I informed him that I was starting a new job on June 8 and that I would not be available to accept delivery on that date. They picked up the goods on Sunday, May 31. The delivery date kept changing from Friday morning, to Friday night, to Saturday morning, and so on.

Finally, Sergio, the driver, arrived at approximately 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 7. He said he was unsure if he could get his semi into the parking lot of our apartment complex. I noted that on the previous day, Saturday, June 6, a full-size crane on a 53’ trailer was in the exact same spot to service a wireless tower. If you wish to confirm this, my landlords (who authorized the tower work) and probably 100 other residents can confirm its presence. Sergio made several attempts but concluded that he couldn’t get the semi into the parking lot. I will add here that the next day (June 9), a 53’ trailer was in the exact same spot. Again, this can be confirmed.

When Sergio was unable to bring the semi into the lot, I was told that my options were to rent a U-Haul myself, or let him do it, and pay the shuttle fee. By this time of evening, U-Haul was closed. Sergio called the LV office (I’m not sure who). Whoever he spoke with said that it would have to be a long carry, and that I would have to pay an extra $250, or I wouldn't get my goods. I feel this was essentially extortion. They knew I couldn't be available the next morning, so my options were pay $250 in cash or potentially wait weeks for my possessions.

Complicating the issue of the long-carry was that Sergio said that someone must be at the truck and someone else at the apartment, since the valuables couldn’t be left unattended at the truck. The result was that I had to go back and forth with Sergio and John (his helper for the move). When Sergio first opened the truck, I was appalled to see that items labelled “fragile” and “this side up” were lying on their sides and with stacks of book boxes on top of them. This seems to me the equivalent of the grocery store placing jars and two liter bottles on top of a loaf of bread and eggs. Additionally, some items, such as a lamp, had no wrapping or protection at all. Not surprisingly, that lamp was ruined. I realize that goods can be damaged in the rigors of transportation, but the stacking and lack of protection were utter carelessness. My wife works in the oil industry and some of the boxes we used were the industrial strength kind that are triple-layered. Even some of these boxes had large gashes through them. I would accept the idea of general liability if this wasn’t such a case of gross negligence and incompetence. I shouldn’t have to tell a mover don’t put heavy things on top of fragile things and that if a box says “this side up”, that side should face upward.

Finally, several items were missing entirely from the delivery. Our vacuum, our hand truck (which I must add I discussed on the phone with you and my wife emphasized to the movers in American Canyon was ours and we expected it back), and two boxes remain missing. We sent multiple e-mails to LV to begin the liability claim process but received no response until we filed a federal complaint and BBB complaint. Use them at your peril.

  4. Bad Expeirnce. Wound Not Recommned it.

My experience  was SO BAD . had to pay extra upon the day of pick up and on the day of delivery ( I am taking hundreds of dollars ). They did not deliver on the requested date and had 1 week delay with them. they want you to be on their time. I was forced to pick up their driver in my personal car at 11 pm and they did not even deliver on that night. They forced me to leave work next day to come home with very short notice and if I don't show up or follow their short notice time/date then I have to pay fine of 85 $ every hour ( Sure I was never told about any fine before that time). Very poor notification and they will take any opportunity  to increase your rate. They don't care about your work or sleep. I got called one time at midnight by their dispatcher. They did not handle my furniture properly and I had severely damaged furniture. They referred me to their claim department which takes 120 days to get you a decision. They are nice people when you talk to them but very bad to get job done not get done properly.

  5. Lost and damaged items.

BEWARE  OF LV MOVING My experience with LV Moving was THE  WORST.  When the pick up was made, all items were numbered and were to be matched upon delivery.    This did not happen.   At the destination, the driver demanded payment in cash and had me sign the documents prior to removing any items from the truck.    Prior to pick up I was assured that my move would be direct and not unloaded and reloaded.   I know this was not the case, as in the middle of the unload,  bedroom furniture was brought in that wasn't mine.   I alerted the drivers and those items were put back on the truck.   If my furnishings were not unloaded, how could someone else's items be mixed with mine, especially in the middle of the load.   This would also explain my missing boxes.  The movers damaged some of my furniture and what was to be assembled was not done properly.    Everything  was a mess. The very worst are the missing boxes that have not been found that contained IRREPLACEABLE  items.    It's just heartbreaking to know that this has happened.    They are refusing to accept any responsibility for the lost boxes as it was not reported in the initial delivery.   The drivers were in a hurry and refused to account for all the items on the list. The settlement that they are offering won't even cover the cost  for someone to come to my house to access all the damages.   The refusal for any compensation of the missing items is unacceptable. I AM LIVID WITH THIS COMPANY..                .

  6. Thank you LV MOVING!!

This company is great! I called them three days before our move and they were able to accommodate our needs and times without hesitation.Mike and his crew showed up at their promised time, packed us up and moved our things. Then they called to confirm the move-in date and were there earlier than expected. The entire crew was funny, friendly and speedy. I recommend using them for any move you have coming up!

  7. Very Satisfied! Great Job LV Moving!

I'm a disabled man having lost 1 hand in the military. So, while I do like to stay active and I still do welding and things, even at my age as a senior, but I could not begin to do this move without professional help.    LV Moving was the company that I decided, after careful scrutiny, had the best reviews and such online. I spoke with their salesman and he was very informative. I knew that I had made the right choice.   When it came time to move, they arrived on time for the pick up and the price remained fixed. They took great care to protect my things and they worked hard and as a team. At the delivery still no hidden fees or surprises. Except for the biggest surprise at all. .. some other companies tried to bash these guys to get my business, but all they claimed were nothing but lies! LV Moving didn't raise the price and they didn't wreck all my things.    There were a few scratches in a wall, but it was a tight spot and I would have torn half the wall down if I were to try moving myself.   All in all - they did a stellar job and I will be telling my friends! Thanks for everything guys!!

  8. Excellent Company.

LV Moving is the best moving company I have ever used and I have moved 30 times in my life!  I know that no matter how good a company is or how hard they try to satisfy their customers, we are all human and you cannot please everyone.  There are also people who are just miserable all the time and they want to make everyone else around them just as miserable.
That being said, every mover that I researched had some bad reviews and LV Moving is no exception.  However.. when I considered the reviews, I also looked at other things about the companies like what is listed on the REAL place to pay attention to.. www.ProtectYourMove.gov and on this government monitored website, where the REAL story about a moving company is written by people who are not ranting, miserable or unreasonable.
In this case, LV Moving stands head and shoulders over their competition. PLUS-they have an "A" rating on the BBB they did not pay for and they are ranked 13th in the nation for long distance moving companies.
So, I called them and their people were very knowledgeable and helpful. They explained all the things that I could expect from them and what to watch out for with other companies.
They were right about the other companies.. most companies I spoke to asked which companies I was getting quotes from and when I mentioned LV Moving there was a lot of mud slinging.. that is the PRIMARY reason that LV Moving earned my business.. they were the ONLY company that refused to speak poorly of any other movers.
I am 50 years old, I have a very bad back and even though my move was only a few hundred miles and I would have saved about $100 by renting a UHaul and moving myself, I physically cannot do that kind of labor anymore. LV Moving stepped up to the plate and knocked the ball out of the park!!
Thank you LV Moving for standing up to the bad press from people who should not be able to post their false rantings. It was obvious to me after I compared the Excellent level of service I received to the few poor reviews I found online - that LV Moving may have had a few issues arrise during the last year, but there is NO WAY I can believe they have ever been as bad as some have claimed.
For my money, I will ALWAYS use and recommend LV Moving over ALL other movers. You will be making a very wise decision to call LV Moving!!

  9. Horrible company.

I had a horrible experience with LVMOVING out of Las Vegas. They were great when giving me a quote but once they got my money the salesman totally forgot about me. They only sent two guys to pack my entire home. They started out packing everything carefully and ended by just throwing things in boxes with no packing material at all. Almost every piece of furniture was damaged. My couch was ripped, a bed was pried apart and damaged severely. A porcelain doll was just thrown in a box and was smashed. I paid for an exclusive truck and did not get one. They took my belongings from AZ to Utah to pack another job. I have attempted to contact them concerning my complaints and have received no response. Stay away from LVMOVING CO.
