Where's my stuff?
I arranged this move of our son's dorm room items directly with Preston Phillips, one of the owners of Maverick Moving and Transport, via phone call and text messages. Preston himself did the move. Bottom-line: Not everything that went into his SUV on May 6 in Norfolk was delivered to our home in Arlington! Afterwards, I tried to get him to put this issue on the record via the company's email, or even US mail, but he refused. When I finally texted him that I was sending an email to the company, he broke all contact. The company will not reply to my email, or answer my phone calls (I'm guessing I'm 'blocked'). What kind of company refuses to engage with a customer who has a legitimate complaint? Preston at first said he would send an insurance form for me to fill out. It never came. When I asked him about it, he then said, 'just tell me how many pounds it was.' Unbelievable. It was a low-cost move. Preston originally asked for $600, I said I was willing to pay $500; he agreed. I'm missing about $150 worth of stuff. You do the math! It seems Preston found a way to get his original price, plus a generous tip, after all. Also, Preston didn't do an inventory on the load end (where I was not present), so he claims he is not responsible for whatever didn't make it to the delivery end. How convenient, as well as unprofessional. I have had quite a number of moves done in the past (retired military), and never saw one done without an inventory. DON'T BE A FOOL, DON'T USE THIS COMPANY! YOU CANNOT TRUST THEM! .
The worst moving experience.
They were on time and called ahead, so I ini itially felt we would have a great experience. WRONG! The truck was way too small so they told me they needed to make 2 trips but wouldn't be able to come back for the second load until 3 hours or so after the first load was unpacked. They then left A number of items behind and said they would return the next day. They never showed up. After, calling all day, they finally returned my call, only to curse at me. I certainly wouldn't use this company again! Cheaper is certainly not always better..
Best Moving Experience.
Professional to a tee! This moving experience was the best I have ever had (and I've had many!) The movers were prompt, fast, courteous, and extremely neat. Amenable to "changing things around" when asked, they did so politely and with a smile. It was a great pleasure to deal with this company. I would use their services (and only theirs!) time and again.

Maverick Moving and Transport was a great choice. Gage was so polite on the phone and had the answers to all my questions. The morning of my move Ryan and Robert were on time and professional they were fully prepared for my difficult move. Narrow stairways on the 4th floor walk up but they got the job done in a timely manner only 15 mins over their estimated time frame. this company took a huge stress off my shoulders. 5 stars for sure!
