Terrible customer service
They were supposed to do white glove delivery and refused to assemble the furniture. Despite several phone calls in which they said they would assemble. Every time you call, they place you on hold forever and it seems like they have no recollection of the prior conversations. Then they said they need approval from a different department. When I asked her what department she couldn't tell me. Just terrible experience. And lots and lots of money wasted. Please don't spend yours on this company.
I was nervous... all went VERY WELL
This is a REAL review... you can look me up, I am a REAL human and just your average consumer.
I gleefully saved and splurged and bought my DREAM BED from Anthropologie...
... and once my shipping order was prepared, I was mortified when I looked up reviews for Metropolitan Warehouse and Delivery... I mean, as you can see... it was bleak, folks, very, very bleak.
There was nothing I could do, I mean it was out my my hands... so all I could hope for was that the stars were in alignment and nothing went wrong with my order and delivery.
Well... actually, no... I'm not one to sit back and passively "hope".
I called Anthropologie... like numerous times... to micromanage where my bed was remotely-- had it left their warehouse yet? Had it arrived to Metropolitan yet? How long would each process take? When would I hear news? They were receptive and informative... and then... it arrived to the Metropolitan Warehouse...
A rep from Metropolitan got in touch with me PRONTO... and said they would schedule for delivery within 2 days. I marked my calendar, I took names. I didn't need to... they called on time, scheduled a larger ballpark window, giving me the exact week I could expect delivery. Then a week before THAT week, they called to schedule for the exact day.
24 hours before, I received an automated call telling me to expect deliverry betw 8AM-12.
The movers called me at 7:30A the next day, to ask if it was ok if they showed up in 20 min!
They arrived, carefully brought my bed in, white-glove setup went smoothly, and they couldn't have been more respectful, professional, and kind.
And I am HAPPY AS A CLAM with my new dream bed!
So... may this be the first 5-star review for Metropolitan Warehouse and Delivery... of many more to come...
Worst company
They damaged my floor, rug and coffee table on delivery. I sent a formal complaint form with documentation and the company never respoinded even after I called and emailed them many times.
What a bunch of Cowboys.
On Wednesday Diana Cruz sent the below message Hi, we are contacting you from Metropolitan Warehouse and Delivery in regards of your order#**2666. We are going to do the delivery on for Friday Oct/30 and time frame between 01:30 PM-05:30 PM, to the address on file, 100 North ** Avenue, **, IL, ZIP: **. You will also receive a 30 minute previous notice from our delivery team on the day of the delivery. Please call us back to confirm at 866-466-3876. I confirmed back the same day. This morning I cleared the area of my living room ready for delivery. At 1pm the driver called to say they would be at the delivery address in 20 minutes. I told him I had a delivery window of 1.30 to 5.30, and I had a conference call between 1.00 and 1.30 (people do have lives outside of the delivery windows). At 1.08 Diana Cruz called to ask if I was available for the delivery, I stated yes I was after 1.30 Diana called back at 1.31 and 1.35 when I was already heading down to the 1st floor. I arrived there at 1.35 the delivery truck had already departed. Everything above is factual and verifiable. This company is an absolute disgrace!
Moving and storage.
1 star because 0 is not an option..contracted to move and store high value furniture from Denver to San Francisco. Furniture was stored for 3 years and then "got lost". I chased MW for 6 months and finally received a partial delivery, all of which was damaged and/or missing pieces. My men's and ladies' desk/chair combos were both damaged beyond reasonable repair. My couch was delivered without cushions. All furniture was brand new/unused as the move was unexpected. We selected MW for these high value items because on the recommendation of one of the retailers; we used a national moving company for the bulk of the move, segregating out these few high value items. I have now been chasing MW for 6 weeks for resolution and am still getting the run around. Incompetent and negligent to say the least.
The ladies desk was apparently used by the movers as a make up vanity -- stained with bottles, cosmetic residue and smelling of perfume. I note the desk was brand new, unused and my wife is allergic to cosmetics and does not use any.
I attach photos of my men's desk to show a few examples of what happened to my previously new and mint condition desk. Finish completely trashed and high end nickel hardware now missing and replaced with machine screws.
I had a host of other problems with these folks but just trying to give a synopsis. Walking through the various steps on my way to a lawsuit which will also seek damages.
