  1. Office

I had selected Miracle from Camovers website for our office move out of 8 companies who provided quotes for us. Miracle was not the cheapest out of them but I felt that they can be trusted and that indeed they do provide value for the money. We have 40 employees and have been in our previous office for 15 years so for me it was a big project but for Miracle it was jut a piece of cake! We used Miracle for office move on two separate days and also for all furniture disposal. They were working very efficiently and without any issues. They have done all IT decommissioning and recommissioning for us and everything worked like a dream! They have even disposed of all the rubbish and mess left over in the office.

Overall we were very happy with their services and I would not hesitate to recommend them.

  2. Miracle Movers.

Miracle Movers are the best! We were left high and dry by another Wilmington mover. Chris from Miracle Movers picked up the pieces of a desperate situation and went above and beyond in getting move from Wilmington to Florida completed with one day's notice. The employees were polite, competent and most importantly, did what they said they were going to do. I couldn't say enough good things about Chris and his company.

  3. Great Company!

Miracle Movers moved our office after the hurricane and did a fantastic job for a great price. The guys were extremely professional compared to your typical moving crew and completed the whole job in around an hour. Will definitely hire these guys again!

  4. Poor.

I never write reviews. I felt as though I owed it to Wilmington to write this one. We chose this company because it was a local company recommended by our new apartment complex. During our move, one of the movers showed up “high.”  He was pleasant and didn’t break anything at first so we let it slide. We made the owners aware so they could get him help if needed, and they apologized stating that the worker had had some “problems and was getting help.” He broke our bed at the time but given his problems we let it slide. Several months later we moved from Wilmington to Norfolk for work.  4 guys showed up and loaded our pre packed apartment which took an extra hour because they “brought the wrong truck and needed to go get a second truck. “ we were supposed to meet them the next day in Norfolk at 9-930a. They didn’t show up until almost noon and only 2 men showed up. The guys were great, working hard but the moved lasted until 2am! It was absurd. They admitted they didn’t have another 2 workers to “round out their crew.” Obviously given the workload and heat, multiple items (bed, shelves, chiminea, ladder, etc) were all damaged, broken Or lost. We let the owners know about our difficulties and after 2 weeks of consideration, we were told that since we were on a basic plan (no mention of any type of plan was made prior to the move other than that the company was bonded and insured) they were willing to offer $200 “out of pocket” to rectify the situation. If I could give 0 stars I would. 9 times out of ten I would preach the importance of choosing the local company. This is the tenth. If you want a company who utilizes impaired movers, doesn’t supply the right equipment, trucks or number of movers, than this is your company. Otherwise choose a real moving company that stands behind their work. Don’t believe their ads or testimonials. We were dumb enough to use them twice and had terrible experiences twice. We were even willing
To let the first slide because everyone has a bad day. I plan to share this with as many social media sites as possible so make sure your friends know, DO NOT CHOOSE MIRACLE MOVERS. THEY ARE ALL HYPE.  They were also clear in reacting to our complaint by saying “the better business bureau is worth nothing. “.

  5. Great!

Whatever you do AVOID One price moving that advertises on Craigslist! Use these people, and yes, this is a serious review.

  6. Miracle Movers are just that!

This morning Justin, Brendon and Elijah from Miracle Movers arrived at our house to unload our 16th foot Penske truck. They were efficient, polite and extremely careful when moving any furniture or boxes in and around the house. We would definitely recommend these fellows to anyone needing assistance with their loading or unloading of goods.

  7. Move from Wilmington.

We selected Miracle Movers because of their reviews and I was impressed with their visit to our home to prepare an estimate. They assured me they would do whatever was needed.

Packing for the move was a bit problematic since they arrived without any packing paper (they had to rent a truck and failed to move those supplies from their truck). I had a bunch, plus newspapers and bought them some more. I was a bit disappointed with they way they handled the bigger pieces of furniture and we noticed some scratches, dings and chips after unloading.

The ice storm in early January delayed the move a day. They did make a special effort to leave Wilmington the following day.
The move in was quite OK but we noticed we were missing a 6 ft. ladder. We called and Chris noted it was on the truck..why?..no explanation. We were also missing a mirrored wall display case. No comment from Chris. Perhaps it was broken and discarded..don't know. We agreed upon a modest $$ adjustment for the items..but..
Initially when mentioning the lost items and damage, I was quoted the 60 cents per pound limit of liability. Yes, I failed to buy the additional coverage..dumb move. Chris seemed annoyed with me asking for an adjustment. Appeared to have no concern about missing items..curious.

Overall, we have moved 11 times..most were better experiences. If you select MM I highly recommend purchasing the additional insurance and perhaps taking pictures of all furniture. My review rating: less than satisfactory.

  8. Wonderful Crew!

There is no question that I believe our recent moving experience with Miracle Movers is without a doubt the best move we have ever had (15 moves in last 38 years). The crew from start to finish was professional, punctual and polite.

If anyone in or around the Wilmington North Carolina area is looking for polite, and VERY PROFESSIONAL movers you owe it to yourself to call this first class operation!

  9. Miracle It Wasn't Worse.

First, I’d like to provide some background information. In 47 years of marriage, my wife and I have moved 9 times. I’ve used movers 3 times and packed our belongings every time except for our first move. Prior to this current move, we haven’t broken or lost as much as a single dish. This time however, I didn’t feel that I wanted to move myself again. I did pack all the boxes myself utilizing over 250 yards of foams sheets and bubble wrap, over 50 pounds of newsprint and every available towel, blanket, bedspread and pillow in our household. All boxes were sealed with a minimum of three strips of shipping tape per opening utilizing 3 dozen rolls of packing tape. I don’t want to say my experience with the movers was completely negative. The first crew that moved us from our old house did a good job preparing our TV’s, grandfather clock and china hutch, probably the most delicate items. They also didn’t break any of our china, but that is more attributable to the way it was packed.

Our move entailed multiple steps; loading at our home and unloading at storage lockers at two different locations, then 3 1/2 months later loading from those two storage lockers and then unloading and delivering to our new home. Maybe the extra step of storage caused the additional wear and tear, but I think that professionals movers should be able to handle that.

The problems started early. To begin with, the company’s representatives underestimated the size of the load so that one truckload turned into three. One storage unit turned into two. We ended up paying substantially more than the estimates. The total cost of moving and storage exceed the original estimates by 42%. We did choose the basic insurance to hold down expenses, but by doing so expected at least a median level of competency.

The initial load seemed to go well other than the need for an additional load on one of the two trucks. However, several hours were lost in acquiring the additional space for storage and the additional time for loading and unloading due too the inaccurate estimate. Fortunately, I was not charged for all of the wait time.

The final delivery didn’t start well. Also, only one of the first crew was present and the rest seemed ill-trained. The first thing that I was told was that the washer was damaged. I began to notice damage to various pieces. Some of the heavier boxes were unloaded and then stacked on boxes marked “Fragile”. At least a third of the boxes showed dents or signs of rough handling. On several occasions crew members were corrected by the one experienced mover on how they were trying to move pieces through doorways and up stairs.

Once we began to unpack, we started finding more damage. The washer control knob had been sheared of the front of the washer, breaking the control board. The office furniture had several scratches and dings. Several glasses and small pieces were broken. A panini press had both lid supports broken off. A lamp was broken. All of the box springs and mattress had scrapes and dirt from being dragged across some surface (they were supposed to be covered in storage). A wicker love seat had a gouge in the arm from something being stacked on it. A wicker table had several spots where paint was scraped off. A pelican statue had the base broken off. All of the boxes had been marked but many were located in the wrong rooms. A floor lamp was also missing.

Once we had realized the scope of the problem, we started the process of getting repairs. The washer was out of service for two weeks waiting for a new knob when the appliance parts supplier had said that just replacing the knob would not fix the problem. Once a new board was received, I actually had to find a YouTube video on repairing my washer model to help the repairman install the new board without breaking it.

The furniture repairman fixed the wicker table, cleaned the futon mattress cover, fixed the lamp but determined that the loveseat, and the pelican statue were not repairable.
I provided the owner with copies of the original receipts totaling $851 for these items and the missing lamp. The items weren’t new, but quoting the level of insurance as their reason, their settlement was an offer of $110.

I don’t want to say that all of the mover’s work was sub-par. Some of the packing of the van and handling were done professionally. Adding to the problems, was communication with company management on our claims after the final move. Several text messages , emails and phone calls went unanswered during the entire process. There was enough damage to our possessions and questions raised by the level of professionalism during the move to our new home to state that I would not recommend Miracle Movers/Magic Moves for residential moving. As a result of the total experience, I would not rate them higher than one and a half stars.

  10. Very efficient!

I was very happy with Miracle Movers. The three men were very efficient and polite. They were done in 4 1/2 hours and quoted 6 hours so very happy about that. My only complaint would be that a piece of glass from an end table got broken and no one said anything to me about it. It was a glass overlay so the table was fine but I wished they would have brought it to my attention instead of finding it broken in my closet. Aside from that, the men were courteous and mindful of the integrity of my new home. No banging into walls and laid out boxes on the carpets and wood floors to keep them clean and safe. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in Wilmington.

  11. 100%.

Shawn and his friend were on time and extremely professional and proficient. They came to my new home in Alexandria, VA to help me move furniture and large boxes out of the Uhail truck. They were able to maneuver a very large, heavy and awkward fitting couch down two stairs with barely an inch of space to spare. Never made a scratch! I was glad to offer them water because they were so nice. I truly will personally ask for them again!

  12. Awful experience with damaged home.

The movers were great the but the customer service was awful.  The movers caused damages to the walls and the items being moved and said to call in to customer service to claim the repairs needed.  Customer service was extremely rude and basically called me a liar that the movers would ever direct me to customer service for claims on repairing damages.  I would look elsewhere for a more reputable company even if it means paying a little more.. you get what you pay for with this company. .

  13. Terrible Experience.

I hired Miracle Movers for a local move consisting of a distance of 3 miles on 8/11/08. The cost of the move from my 2 BR 1 1/2 bath 950 SF townhouse to a new home (all on one level) took 2 men 6 hours at $840 (8:00 AM to 2:00 PM). Everything was packed and all the boxes labeled. I gave them instructions on how to interpret the labels (BR #1, BR #2) but on about 15% of the boxes they didn.
