  1. Nightmare!! do Not Use!!

Very inconsistent work. The first time we used them we were given great service. The second time was a complete nightmare which is a nightmare that I am living box after box that I open that they have handled. I have moved no less than 10 times in my life because of work. I would rarely have a broken item in each move. This time, however, over $1000 in crystal & China was demolished. I opened the box of Fiesta Dinnerware bowls & it was a box of rubble. My glassware was also broken. I had pewter serveware literally cracked in half. Things that I asked them specifically to be extra careful with, it was like I never said a word. They did not listen, nor did they care. We moved into a brand new home & they slid furniture on our hardware floors. They damaged our hardwood flooring & the verdict is still out on if they will be returning our calls & repairing the damage. When I asked the owner to come & view his damage, he never apologized one time & even took up for his unprofessional crew that he sent to my home. He flat did not care. The employees left trash in the yard from their pizza that they ordered. They stood in the doorway of our new home smoking. The last guy he sent had very noticeable alcohol on his breath & everytime I spoke to him he called me “baby”. Not to mention I personally saw them STANDING on my boxes in the moving truck & the owner argued with me that his guys did not do that. I am VERY unhappy. Please do not make the same mistake I made by using these UNPROFESSIONAL bunch of “rag-tag” movers. Oh, also they tore my great grandmothers dining table up because they moved it without removing the leaf first. I can keep going but I’m going to stop here.

  2. Move.

Arrived on time. Move everything on to the truck quickly and efficiently. They even packed a few items I hadn't had a chance to get to! Nothing damaged during the move. Excellent job. Certainly recommend to anyone!

  3. Did good job.

    I packed my stuff

    They moved my stuff.

Nice people. No nonsense / BS.

    Job well done.

For some reason this website is requiring me to write 100 characters to describe a mover. So here it is.

  4. Very unprofessional.

I called on a Monday to set up an appointment to have my belongings moved to a storage unit. I was given a quote and told they would be here between 9-10:00am. I called on Friday afternoon to make sure everything was still in place and was told by Larry that he was pretty sure they had me on the book. I called on Saturday just after 11:00 because they had not shown up nor had I heard from them and was told it was going to be another 2 hours, which would have put it at 1:00. At 2:00 I started calling other movers and found one for another day (very personable and informative). I called Larry at 2:39pm and told him not to worry about showing up. He had no concern nor was he apologetic in any way. I find this man and his company to be very unprofessional and would not recommend them to ANYONE EVER! I give them zero stars and 2 thumbs down!

  5. UNRECONCILED DAMAGES to Antique Sideboard Mirrored Buffet Hutch.

I signed a contract w Larry Hill, President, on June 7, 2013, to move my furniture from Gretna, LA to Mobile, AL 36605, on June 9, 2013. I pd a $350. deposit (Invoice No: 2082) to secure his services. My furniture, bags & boxes were moved from his truck into my home on June 10, 2013. I pd Steve/Designee the balance of $550. as Payment In Full (Invoice No: 2087) when move was complete.

My antique sideboard mirrored buffet hutch was placed, in a tilted position, against the wall, by the door, in my formal living/dining room by his moving staff. It was knocked over by his moving staff, when they came through the door w another piece of furniture. The mirror shattered, wooden frame & pieces of the trim broke. His movers quickly swept up & gathered the shattered mirror glass & placed it on a furniture blanket. Steve removed a piece of the mirror from the furniture blanket as evidence. I measured the beveled mirror in the presence of Steve & it was verified to be 3/8” thick. Steve, told me not to worry, & assured me, that Mr. Hill would come to my home to check on the completeness of & my satisfaction w my move & that the mirror would be replaced along w the necessary restoration of the frame & trim. Several boxes were soaking wet & fell apart that were witnessed by his staff as they brought them into my home. I was informed that the truck obviously has a leak that allowed rain waters to come through!

After discovering that Steve & movers were gone, I contacted Steve on his mobile phone at 205-586-5455 at 3:42 P.M. & informed him that he did not provide me w an Incident Report. Steve informed me that I could get an Incident Report but did not need one. Steve further assured me that Mr. Hill would come to my home on Tuesday June 11th to get measurements as the reason he did not provide an Incident Report. I informed him that I would be home @ 5:00 P.M.

I didn't hear from Mr. Hill on June 11th. I contacted him @ 251-366-8250, on June 12th, & discussed the Incident. During this discussion, he stated that he would get back w me after speaking to Steve, who had a sample of the shattered glass. I specifically indicated that the mirror was beveled and 3/8” thick. Mr. Hill never contacted me to schedule an appointment to come to my home. On June 19, 2013, I wrote a letter to Mr. Hill & emailed it to him, modernmovers@comcast.net, as an attachment. I initiated another call to Mr. Hill @ the beginning of July. During this contact, I mentioned the email to him @ he stated that he does not check his email. He also stated that he has been too busy to contact me regarding this matter. Mr. Hill agreed to come to my home on July 10, 2013 between 5:30/6:00 PM. Again, Mr. Hill did not show up as he promised. I saw Mr. Hill on Oct 10, 2013, @ a furniture store on Dauphin Island Pkwy @ brought this matter to his attention again. Mr. Hill promised to come to my home @ the beginning of next work week (October 15th or 16th). Mr. Hill did not come to my home @ I have not heard from him at all.    .
