  1. Moving forward relocation. 4,000.

Moving forward quoted me at 4,000 to move a two bedroom house. They were the worst movers and I would not recommend them. They are liars. They were late with the pick up , 3 days and arrived at midnight. The lights were out at the rental due to me relocating and there lateness. They packed half my house and could not fit the rest on the truck. So they left half my house in Ohio. When I told them this was crazy business they said for another 900.00 they could pick up the rest in the a.m. I did not get my delivery of half on my house for 6 months. They created stress and anxiety in my life as I was sure I was never going to receive my household items and when I called anyone I got the runaround. The woman Kerri who arranged the contract would not even talk to me. They are a scam and liars. Never use this company.

  2. Can anyone help?

I paid my deposit and made sure to get a clause put in there that I could get a refund at any time. I called today to make changes and all the numbers are disconnected or bot accepting calls! Any help would be appreciated!

  3. Horrible Company.

As with the other 1 star reviews this company has absolutely no integrity. The agreed upon price was raised 300% when they came to "pick-up" our belongings. Absolutely no communication after booking and then when I told them to leave because of their bait and switch tactic; then I was flooded with calls to please reconsider. They then agreed to reimburse my credit card for their transgression and then 3 months later bill me again. I came to a resolution with my CC company but these guys will tell and sell you everything and then not come through with any of their previously agreed upon promises. Stay away and move it yourself..at least you know what you're getting.

  4. Moving.

This companyI is horrible! Lots of communication and promises while trying to get your business, then once they get your money..zero communication. I was told that they were not brokers(they are) that the people that picked up my things would be the same people that deliver them(they weren't), wasn't told that my things would be placed in storage and then be loaded onto another truck at some point. Waited over 3 weeks for our stuff placing calls and emails daily with no responses. I was told finally that my things were being loaded and that I would be receiving a call from the driver in a day or so. No call from driver, called company and they told me that my stuff didn't make the truck! One hour later a driver calls and tells me he will be there tomorrow. Does anyone at this company have a clue? Things were delivered with alot of damage done to totesfurniture, tvs, and other items. Still missing 2 items as well. Still trying to get a resolution to our damages and missing pieces. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

  5. Very Unprofessional.

All the bad things you can read in the other review are very true.
They will take you money and then they will block your calls. below is what I just went through with this company.

Loss: 4 Boxes was missing and a 4 basket white shelf was also missing from my deliver on 10/14/2018.Damages:Dinning room table had damages to all 4 corners, and multi scratches on the base . China hutch has multi ares's of damage to the base and sides of the top and the delivery guys damaged my floor when setting the china hutch in place. My bench had multi scratches. They damaged my Bannister while bring in my china hutch by dropping it up against the Bannister. It would have hit the floor if the stairs hadn't been there.95 % of my boxes and totes where crushed and several of then where wet inside and out. 1 tote box still had the water inside the tote. Over Charged: I was quoted after explaining in detail what I had to ship. Agreed on the price and when the driver started to load my things, he begin saying he was charging me to wrap a couple pieces. I agree for him to wrap the china hutch with the glass in it and told him not to wrap to 2nd piece that I would not pay for it. He did it anyway and still charged me. I paid the deposit of $762.50 to the Moving Forward relocation company, I was to pay the driver $600 at pick up and $600 at drop off. They did not tell me that they were subbing out to the G&M company. The pick up driver Came in with blank paperwork and had me sign the forms without filling them in with quantities or listing out what was being picked up. He said he would give me a copy of it at the end when he was loaded as he would note everything as it went on the truck. Then he told me I had to pay $900.50 now and another $900.50 when it was delivered. He tried saying if you take care of me and my helper I will make sure you are taking care also. I questioned this to the company and then he was very ugly to me afterwards.

I shipped less pieces of furniture and less boxes than what was quoted in my price, but yet I am being charged more money also. I was picked up on 8/24/18 and told by the driver it would be delivered in 4 days. On 10/13/18 I still did not have my things. I have made over 30 phone calls to both the moving forward and G&M to get a delivery scheduled. G&M always would say it is being loaded you will have it next week. then again on Monday when it did not arrive I would call again. Moving forward block my calls and will not return my calls after I expressed to them I want to be compensated for all the troubles and lies and emotional stress I was dealing with. They wouldn't even call me to say that I would not get my delivery . I have made over 30 different calls to to both company's . I am out of pocket for food, toiletry items and other things due to the delay in my delivery. . And then to a company that hires unprofessional drivers that will say negative comments about you right in front of you. The driver told my partner that he was glad I belong to him and not to the driver.
I really feel as if I have been taken advantage of and treated very unprofessional.
I have pictures of the damages done to my things. I also would like to know if the remainder of my missing items are at the warehouse or where are they. I would really like to have them.

  6. Good at the beginning, the worse at the end.

I had bad experiences with movers before and I honestly thought this was going be different.

They lost one of my boxes, they told me they were going to call me in a few days or write me a check for my loses but it has been more than 2 weeks and now every time I call I get directly the voicemail (maybe the blocked me?).

Note: don't believe in their low estimate, they tell you they are overestimating and there almost no chance they will extra charge you the day of the moving but the truth is they are going to find a way to extra charge you during the moving.

  7. Do Not Use This Company.

STAY FAR AWAY from this company! We are a military family and are used to dealing with moving companies, and this one is hands down the worst I have ever seen. The day they were scheduled to move us, they didn't show up, and didn't contact us. I had to call THEM to find out the truck broke down and they were unable to move us until after the date we were supposed to arrive at a base across the country. This way in May. We have STILL not received our deposit back, and they refuse to give us out entire deposit back. They purposefully dodge phone calls, never call me back, and the manager is never available. At this point, I have no choice but to talk to a lawyer and will most likely end up suing this company to get my money back. I'm reporting them to the State Attorney's Office, Better Business Bureau, Department of Transportation, and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. If you have issues with this company, I suggest you do the same, as enough complaints will eventually end up disbanding their business/ bring legal charges against them for scamming people.

  8. Moving Forward Relocation Deposit Refund.

On May 11, 2018 was contacted by Moving Forward Relocation about a move we were attempting to get prices on. I told them we were in the very early stages of planning our move and had no specific date to give them. I told them what items we going to be moving and they sent an estimate in the amount of $5976. I then submitted a deposit of $1776. I discussed this move with my son and he offered to move us and save money. I talked with Robert Jones (operation Mgr.) and made this clear before the deposit was sent. He told me that my deposit would be refunded if my son were to help us move. Now, I understand that he claims that is not what he said but rather only if I did not make the move. That was not the case. I made many attempts to contact Mr. Jones but he was never available to talk with me. Finally on May 23 he sent me an e-mail stating he would call me the following day to see what could be worked out on the return of my deposit. He never called me as he said he would. I continued to follow up with telephone calls but he refuses to talk with me. I have asked for the return of my deposit since no moving date was ever established and the move was never finalized. After reviewing the overwhelming unfavorable complaints on this website it has further convinced me that Moving Forward Relocation is a dishonest and deceptive company. Doing business with them would likely result in much heartache and potential loss of time and money. Avoid doing business with this company at all cost. I have filed a grievance with DOT and my credit card company.

  9. Awful experience; predatory business practices.

Negative star rating, if it was possible. This business is predatory and makes money off the backs of unsuspecting customers and 3rd party contract cross-country movers. The sales pitch from Carrie was bait and switch followed by Kristina's unprofessional and rude demeanor over the phone. Carrie made it sound as if their company had the movers, trucks and equipment ready to go. Nothing was further from the truth. The original quote was increased by 60 percent once the movers arrived even though I gave a thorough accounting of my possessions during a 32-minute phone call with Carrie on June 24th and verified there was "no baby elephant" living in my garage. Thereafter, Moving Forward was difficult to get a hold of and contact with them was nonexistent during the month I had to wait for my belongings to be delivered cross-country. Movers were a day late on either end of pick-up/delivery. Emily was supposed to call me back on July 21 to confirm delivery time but no word. This was the most horrible move I have ever had. DO NOT use this company. Contact a reputable, local mover or regional representative for cross-country moves. Moving Forward is merely a broker and they will promise the moon and stars but deliver little customer service and zero reliability or trustworthiness.

  10. Lies, bait and switch and more lies.

Horrible customer service, horrible sales team. Lied continuously throughout the process.

Since they will not respond to me, I've filed a complaint with the Florida attorney General and the BBB. Below is my email to their customer service:

During my initial consultation with Moving Forward, we did a complete walk-through of the house. They had me itemize all of the furniture and boxes that would be used.
I was told that "we always estimates on the high end, so that there would not be any surprises on moving day".
I specifically asked, and was told that they move would be done by Moving Forward, and would not be contracted out to a 3rd Party.
I specifically asked, and was told that the move would be done by weight, not volume.

    Total quote was $4,995.52

Movers called to verify that they would be at my house at 9am on Friday morning, after Moving Forward confirmed for Saturday. I had to cancel prior arrangements.
Movers did not show up on Friday, they called on Friday to let me know that they would be there now at 8:30am on Saturday. Showed up at 11am

The company that showed up was not Moving Forward Relocation. Instead we got a 3rd party contractor when were specifically told that this would not happen.
They gave us a new quote, by volume. We were specifically told that this would not happen.

New Quote was over $8400, a 60% increase.
I called Moving Forward to complain, and could only get voicemail that said "we are not open on weekends, please call back during normal business hours"

Movers gave me a "take it or leave it" option. They would not begin packing until we paid 50% of the new quoted balance. Since we were under contract to be out of our house by Sunday, we did not have an option to not use the service.
I paid $3300 to have them load the truck.

Movers let me know that they would be at our new house within 72 hours. Again, very different from the 5-10 day window that Moving Forward quoted.
Asked them to confirm, since we had made new arrangements for travel. They confirmed "within 72 hours" and if we couldn't be there to accept the truck, they would "put it on another truck and we could take our chances. Who knows when the next availability will be" - direct quote from the foreman

We again cancelled travel plans in order to meet the truck at our new house within the 72 hours (Tuesday night at the latest)
No word from them at all on Tuesday - Friday. I called Moving Forward to get an update. They confirmed that "they will be there Sunday"
Did not show up on Sunday. They finally showed up on Monday.

Demanded final payment before they would unload the truck. I called Moving Forward to dispute the charges. No resolution.

There were multiple items broken and noted in the final inspection. 1 was the adjustable frame for the King bed. This was a $2000 purchase, and no longer functional. 1 was a box of stemware, labeled fragile, all pieces were broken.

According to the contract, ALL furniture that was disassembled at original house, would be reassembled at new house. There are 8 separate items that did not get reassembled. 1 Bed, 4 bookcases, 3 Storage shelves.

I have sent multiple requests to Moving Forward for resolution. No response at all.

  11. SCAM Artist and Non-Responsive Customer Service.

Today I filed a complaint with the BBB and the Florida State Attorney General's Office.

After contracting Moving Forward for my move, they subcontracted with Unique Vanlines. The initial move went great, very professional and helpful.. BUT that was on May 15, 2018 and I still do not have my furniture. I gave them a first available delivery date of June 6, 2018. To date I've called them repeatedly on a delivery date with no help.

On June 26, 2018, I called again and spoke with their Customer Service Manager "Chad") who advised me that it would be the week of July 1, 2018 before they knew anything else. I advised him and others in the days before that I would be out of town for one day (June 27, 2018), he advised that they would not be delivering. That was at 11am. At 4:30pm the moving company called and said the driver would be there at 8am on June 27, 2018. I advised them that I told them I would be out of town that ONE DAY ONLY.. They said they would figure it out.. I told them I was home then and they could come right then, they refused.

Since then I've had no satisfaction on delivery.

On July 6, 2018, I called and spoke to the Customer Service Manager Chad again and was told they had no clue and that since I refused delivery that my original 21 business day contract delivery was void and I am responsible for all new cost for delivery and storage.

I called Unique Vanlines and was told by their customer service that Moving Forward never told them I was going to be out of town on June 27, 2018 or they would not have loaded the truck for delivery.

Chad refused to let me speak to anyone else.

Its amazing how at 11am they are not coming until next week, so I am ok to go out of town for one day, then at 4:30pm they call and advise they are delivering and now I am refusing delivery.

Either these two companies are SCAM Artist or their failure to communicate should not be my problem.

I still do not have my furniture, no help and a very unsatisfied customer.

  12. The worst "BROKER" moving company..EVER!!

I cannot begin to tell you what a nightmare dealing with this company has been. When I set out to find movers I specifically asked each moving company if they were brokers; at one point I was caught in a bidding war between two companies and the ONLY reason I went with Moving Forward Relocation is because the customer service representative assured me they were DIRECT MOVERS. She exhaled how they had been in business for decades, and the only way the other guys could be quoting me the price they were is if and I quote “they showed up with two guys and a donkey”.

Yeah, I thought it was strange that she could be that diminutive about another company to a prospective client but hey they were the direct movers, so I went with them. LIES, LIES, LIES!! I am sure I will be regretting this for years to come. I have moved twenty-two times in my adult life and have never experienced anything remotely close to the deceit, lies and unprofessionalism of this company. The outsourced my move to MOVING FORWARD VAN LINES (of which Brian may or may not be the owner) yes you guessed it; more lies. They failed to show up on moving day without so much as a phone call to let me know. Only after calling to “complain” did they assure me my movers would be there bright and early at 6 am, three guys and an empty truck.

Yeah, no! At O’bright 9:25 am, two guys showed up with a 26’ foot truck already almost half full of someone else’s belongings, and loaded down with packing supplies. I challenged that I should have had and empty truck because I was following them to get the tariff weigh tickets. They said that they were going to have to drive to the warehouse unload all the belongings (mine and the other persons) go to the CAT scales to get the lite ticket and then return load ALL my things on to the truck to get the CAT scales heavy weight ticket. Needless to say, there was much back and forth over this but in the end the truck was loaded with my belongings.

After the truck was loaded the surprises just kept on coming. The Driver went on to give me a revised NON-BINDING estimate that moved my by weight quote from $2,958.35 (5245 lbs. at $0.43 cents per pound); to $6,300. His REVISED estimated weight “Eyeballing” it at 10,500 lbs. He did some funky movers math that said I should have that much weight based in the size of my storage units, mind you at lease 10 boxes is nothing but pillows. I was also charged a $105. Origin fee and a $105 destination fee; NO ONE has been able to tell me what that addition charge is and why yet. I finally, after pestering them for almost three weeks received my tariff weigh tickets. First the driver had them, then the office was closed, then they were already filed extra, extra; one lie after the other. When I received the tickets and the rest of the information from Moving Forward Relocation I began to question the charges and how they were getting to the totals they were. They came back and said that my belongings once weighed came to 8820 lbs. and that I owed them an additional $3824.05. This after a $910 deposit and another $1120 paid at pick up. The contact at Moving Forward Van Lines Brian, was repeatedly extremely rude, talking down to and eventually hanging up on me.

Getting any direct answers from Chad, Kristina or Courtney it like pulling teeth. After calling an calling I actually got a call back from Kristina to tell me “she was at work now and was going to START getting answers” as to when I would be getting my belongings and what my final pricing would be. My belongings were packed up and moved on April 6th, 2018, today is July 5th, 2018 and of course the poor soul Emily I got on the phone had to tell and very irate me that everyone was out of the office for the day and she could not help me, but I guess I should no be surprised. I NEVER write bad reviews. I always figure my not so great experiences as a one off, but after reading all the negative 1 STAR reviews on here I am truly convinced that all the great reviews are “FAKE NEWS” (yes, my small joke) they HAVE to be place by these people or friends of theirs. How they are still in business at all is a mystery to me.

DO NOT give these disreputable charlatans your money. God only knows if or when I will get my belongings, and heaven help me what condition they will be in. But hey, I guess that why God made Civil Law Suit Attorneys; think it’s about time I called one? Sorry for the War and Peace review…. but this is a definite case of BUYER BEWARE, avoid both of these companies at all cost.

  13. Horrible company.

Avoid this company at all costs. There were so many issues during this whole scheduling process. When I Initially booked the moving service over the phone, the man confirmed that only my things will be on the truck and there's no other pickups. Then a week before my scheduled pick up day I called and they still didn't have the information of the driver picking me up. They also said it takes an estimated 7-10 days for delivery because of other pickups along the way. They couldn't tell me yet if any other deliveries were scheduled. Nowhere on the agreement, emails, or website does it state that. At that point, I'm frustrated but wait until I get a call from the driver. I realize that Moving Forward is a moving broker. A driver not employed by Moving Forward calls me Sunday evening saying he's picking me up tomorrow morning, but I wasn't even scheduled until that Wednesday. He assured me that it was fine and he'll call me on Tuesday. I didn't hear from him or from anyone. I call and find out the driver was sent on another assignment because I wasn't "ready" for him before. Manager of the other company says he might be able to get another driver for the following day or later. He would not give me any straight answers. I kept asking when will I know because my scheduled pickup was supposed to be the next morning. He said he would call me back to let me know what he can do. I called him back multiple times and he refused to call this other driver. I got nervous that he was never going to call me back. The evening before my pickup I had to call another company and luckily they were available and luckily the moving day went smoothly. It's been 3 days since my scheduled pickup and no one from Moving Forward or the out sourced company has contacted me. Moving Forward overestimates the inventory to make the total amount high enough so the non-refundable deposit goes to them and they don't care what happens to you after that because they already took your money. Stay far far far away from Moving Forward.

  14. Worst moving experience ever.

Like others have stated in their reviews, we paid a non-refundable deposit and then the 2nd portion of our amount due for the broker service, which itself was more than we've paid for previous moves (for reference, we've moved 9 times, 5 of them cross-country). We spoke numerous times with the moving company they contracted for us and they gave us an estimate of $5700. Since we were going to be reimbursed $5000, we were fine with that amount. However, after waiting around for several hours day of the move, the movers called to tell us they were 2 hours away and (even though it was only noon) weren't going to come that day after all. The next day they never showed and didn't answer any phone calls. We called Moving Forward to let them know no one had come so they supposedly tried for two days to contact the movers with no luck. So they sent another company the 3rd day to get our stuff. We had never before spoken to this company and they repacked numerous items that were not "acceptable", charging us for every box and for their "service" of packing it for us. We're talking, packing boxes inside of boxes and small pieces of furniture inside boxes. Repacking alone cost us an extra $1400, and the rate they move for was nearly double what the first company had quoted us. We immediately called Moving Forward again to find out how they were going to make right the fact that we were now locked into a moving rate we would never have agreed to, that because they were late arriving we had to cancel the showing of our home that was for sale, and that our family vacation was completely cancelled. We were promised that management would give us a call back. They never called and after that point never even answered any further calls. We finally left a voicemail that if they wouldn't talk to us, we would put a stop payment on the 2nd portion of their fee until we could get it settled. They never did return our calls and in speaking with our credit card company, told them that WE were the ones being dishonest. In addition to the horrible job they did, the company they sent was horrible too. They damaged wood floors, ceilings, and walls in both houses, and broke 2 antique pieces of furniture. I also had numerous items inside the boxes broken. Never before have we had more than 1 or 2 things broken in a move, but somehow the "professionals" hired by Moving Forward managed to deliver quite a few. Unless you have money to burn and enjoy gluing and nailing broken furniture back together (as it was suggested that we do), DO NOT HIRE MOVING FORWARD.

  15. Daughter's Move from Colorado to Nashville, TN.

    Positive

My daughter and friend were moving across the country from Colorado to Tennessee and had never coordinated a move before. They looked into renting a **, but did not expect it to be as costly as it was going to be. I began researching moving companies and came across Moving Forward. I spoke with Carrie and she explained what they could do to help and took my daughter's information. Within 30 minutes or less, I had a very happy daughter on the phone telling me they had secured a moving company!! Even with an unexpected change in plans on my daughter's end, Moving Forward accommodated their changed moving date and arrived as scheduled, loaded, transported, and are now storing their items until they secure an apartment in Tennessee. They were very professional and efficient! We continue to have follow up conversations with Carrie and have been very pleased with Moving Forward's customer service and ability to make my daughter's move more affordable and much less stressful!
