  1. The Worst Moving Company.

Do not do business with this company or any rebranded entities affiliated with Moving Forward! They are thieves! Run!!

  2. Resubmitted review:Buyer Beware.

Cross country move from MN to TX. This company is a broker. They do not have their own moving company or trucks but they make it sound that way. You will be promised the moon and their follow through (switching moving dates then mover arrival the next day was delayed by 6 or 7 hours) only to find out that you will be charged more money (in my case it was nearly $2K) or else they refuse to move your stuff. It was like being at the mercy of swindlers (Moving Forward) and then held for ransom (Brooklyn Movers). This was the worst ‘customer service’ ever. Moving Forward will purposely underestimate the cost, even if you send photos and are accurately itemizing, and then are unavailable or rude, if you do get a hold of them, to help when you find out the price is being jacked up by the actual moving company (Brooklyn Movers). Then your items may not be delivered for weeks (my delivery date was almost a month and they arrived at 8 pm on a Sunday night).

Do.not.use.this.business. They are con artists and there are many complaints out there (Yelp) that will warm you of their unscrupulous practices. You’re better off hiring one of the larger moving companies and having a local representative give you a written estimate.

  3. Don't do It!! Total Nightmare!! Scam Artists!

Be prepared to be scammed and have your stuff broken and stolen. They tried to scam me and took the truck further away to try and charge me more when there was a huge driveway near my apartment door. Totally dumped my stuff by the elevator and refused to do inventory with me signing but why would I sign if my stuff was gone. Broken items and 5 MISSING BOXES! Worst experience of my life and I'm missing a box of childhood photos and laptops. The largest scam artists I have ever dealt with. They will quote you a great price then charge you more.

  4. Damages and lost items.

Moving Forward lost my cherry highboy and delivered my two king size mattresses wet and dirty. They charged more than twice the estimate. The explanation is they were bulky items. They demanded cash payment. Some of the damage may have occurred in storage but they did drag it across the lawn and driveway to bring it in. They said they would find the chest but never responded to my calls confirming it. The delivery man relieved himself in the front yard. He spent the night in the truck in my yard saying he had not slept in 24 hours and had to drive another 12 hours when he left here. It was the worst move ever. I would never use them again.

  5. Terrible terrible and more terrible.

Just  save yourself from a horrible life experience. The sales office sucked me in with a contracted price which was very low.   THEY Called me a VIP customer. What?  Then the  men who picked up my belongings inflated my price by thousand dollars. When I called the boss of the office to remind him of the promised quote, The foreman actually try to grab my phone out of my hands three times. I attempted to get privacy in my bedroom with the phone, and he followed me. He made comments about my underwear. He quit the job when the truck was packed. Then he changed his mind.  I was promised a delivery in four days, but the truck did not arrive for nine days.  They don't have any trucks of their own. They subcontract and have no control over anything. They are a scam operation which misrepresents an imaginary product.  Plenty of damages, a refund of $200 promised for damages, never follow through. I'm sorry I just can't make it clear enough what a terrible experience it was. Stop in your tracks and run the other way.

  6. Fed up.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!! During my first major move back in October 2014, I trusted this company with my life's possessions and they damaged and lost items that can not be replaced.  I was overcharged and my things were still lost.  They haven't cared about my missing boxes and I can't wait to see how much the claims department will 'not' reimbursement for my things.  Horrible!! Horrible company! Rebecca will call you and keep you updated on things and give you a price then the movers will show up and over charge you.  They were pushy and I was overpowered by the three men who came to move my things.  i felt taken advantage of.  My things arrived a week later than the date I was given and I was pissed.  Then to see the state of my items and not having all of my things arrive was the worst experience ever.  I was told that they would search for my things which has not happened.  If they had, then I would have those huge boxes here with me.  Monica will not be much help with any complaints. Nothing is getting done. Once they have the contracts signed, whatever happens just happens.Take it from a person who has lost very important and memorable items that cannot ever be replaced. Do NOT use this company!

  7. Left things behind and doubled our price.

They started out with a great quote, and specials for free or discounted services such as packing and packing materials. We recieved emails with all of these, and the quote with the belongings we informed them we had, and sent in a deposit to hold them for our move date. However, when the loaders arrived, they insisted we had to be charged more, and began packing and loading before having my husband sign the new charge forms. He was threatened to have our belongings left on the street if he didn't sign (he's a disabled veteran, so this was an extremely bad situation for him to be in), so he signed, since they had already pushed us back to the last day we had to move and had been late to pack. They also packed many things we had specifically told them not to, including important documents, jackets, certain electronics and two bags of clothes, and refused to take them back off the truck. After signing, they refused a final inspection and left, leaving behind much of our belongings, some of which they had broken, including everything in our kitchen and bathrooms. And I mean everything. When we called, we were told they would be sent back to pick up the rest, and the overcharge would be "fixed". This never happened and we were forced to throw away or give away alot of things we couldn't fit in our vehicle (we had no option to rent and pack another truck or trailer since we had no time left to move) and were told by the company we would have delivery fees waived for the trouble, if any were necessary. They then attempted delivery without a call ahead of time, after dark, when we were not even home yet. They left when we refused to pay another payment, since they had not fixed the overcharge and had added significantly more (tripling the original quoted price) and we even saw they had not even added all of our packed belongings to the inventory, refused to even let us see if they had our belongings on the truck, and we were yelled at, harassed, and threatened again-this time with having our belongings sold or thrown away-if we didn't pay the higher charge. Later, after calling several lawyers and contacting the BBB and attorney general, we were called and informed we could have our belongings if we paid the remaining $300 of our original quote. We agreed, and again they refused to send an email with this agreement or any paperwork. Delivery was again attempted without a phone ahead, and again we were threatened and the truck left when they attempted to have us pay the higher charge of $2000. We have ow been told our belongings will be auctioned, without even being sorted to remove any documents with pertinient information on them. We are still working with the AG, BBB, and lawyers in hopes of fixing this horrible situation, and have even gotten a report of another family who ended up having to rent a truck and pick up her belongings herself, still had to pay the overcharge and found another families belongings mixed with hers, and everything infested with roaches after only two weeks in storage. Please, don't use this company!

  8. Awful in every way.

They gave me one price on phone and over doubled it. I got no copy of the contract, and no receipt. They lied to me on several occasions. We hired this company over the internet because they could get our stuff there fast and cheap. I was told by the owner of the company that it would take 3-9 days for our things to get there. It actually took 15 days. I was told they would move us from the Carolina's to Colorado for a price of $3100 and that would not go up. They had me sign a blank contract before they would start moving things which concerned me but they promised that they would go over everything before they left and I would get a copy. At the end of packing they had already raised the price over $1000 and they I had to pay a total of $2800 in cash or money order which I did. Then they couldn't give me a receipt and told me I could take a picture of the contract in which they did not give me a copy because they had to pick up at a second location, my son's home and they said he would get a copy of the contract. Once there and loaded our price had doubled to $5900. When my son refused to sign, they refused to give him a copy of the contract. When our things didn't arrive on time we contacted them and was told we had to have $3200 cash and was told time after time a different day our things would be there. When were told that our things were unpacked and stored at a warehouse and was waiting for another load going our way. We heard from the driver and he told us he would be here the next day, God willing. Our truck driver called the next morning and told us his unloaders didn't show up. At that time, we just wanted our things and told him we would unload. He was adamant about having cash or money order to pay him. Once he arrived, he wanted our money before he would open the truck. We wanted to look in the truck to see if it was our things and he would not let us look inside. We threatened to call the police and blocked him in so he couldn't leave. He called the police too. Once the police showed up, they said it was a civil matter and they could not help us and we had to move our cars. When we saw he was leaving, we agreed to pay him first but he would not have it. He told us it would cost us twice as much to get our things back now and that we would have to pay to have it took back to Florida, then pay storage, then pay to have it moved back to Colorado. We called the company and the owner refused to deal with me because I was a woman and told me to have my son call him. My son called him and he told us that he would not turn the truck around that if we wanted our things, we could rent a truck and come and get it. So, we did. We had to to get our things. We rented a Uhaul and a trailer and drove about an hour and half to a Lowes parking lot. I was told I had to sign the contract and pay in cash first. I did not want to sign until we got our things but he said he would drive away. So, we gave him $3200 in cash and he said we don't get a receipt or copy of the contract. I was in tears but he did open the truck and we were able to get our things, at least part of them. The thing was it that everything was infested with roaches and broken and a lot of my things were missing. This has been a night mare to say the least. We got other peoples boxes, some being their family photos, and when I wrote and told them they wouldn't even write me back about it. I have left messages but no one will call me back. The only thing I got was an email saying they would do an investigation and to file a claim and when I wrote them to ask about a form, I never heard back. We are filing a claim but was told we didn't take out insurance and it was only going to be 60 cents a pound. These people are Haitians we think. They are crooks and very unscrupulous. We will be suing because we have so many things missing and broken. No reasonable care was given in our things, at all.
