Dishonest, Unclear about charges.
I got a call from moving max nj when I placed a request for moving quotes in an online quote engine. They gave me a upfront quote of $75/hour which starts when they arrive at my place and ends at when they leave my place.
The scheduled pickup time was 8 AM. They arrived at 9 AM. The packing and loading time was 1 hour, moving time was 1 hour and a waiting time of 30 minutes.Unloading time was 1 hour. Once they arrived at the unloading place, they didn't allow unloading my goods until I signed and agreed to pay for 5 hours which I resented. They added 1 hour of transit time before arriving at my place which was not as per the initial quote they sent to me.
Also they added additional charges of $75 for stairs even when my old place has a flight of 4 stairs located on the ground floor.
I advise all individuals looking for movers in NJ and NY not to select MOVING MAX NJ (http://www.movingmaxnj.com/) as they are very dishonest and try to rip off your money.
It was a hellish experience.
Earnt a new way that we can be robbed this way .. At the time of the quote they have give a quote of 300 but there was a delay from my end for 4 hrs so I was ready to pay hourly 75*4 for the extra time .. But they many hidden charges that would kill u like anything..paid in total of 1373.85 ..worst experince in my life .. This was my first moving with a company and would be the last dealing with a company.
Moving max.
I moved with moving max I had a wonderful experience I moved a 2 bed room they were on time very polite and very cost effective. The men were here on time and really worked hard for my family I will be moving my mom out in dec and will def call again to help my mom move out of her condo thanks moving max.
Horrible Company.
I scheduled an appointment one month before the date that I was scheduled to move. I received a confirmation email on September 18, 2013. The movers never showed up. When I called to find out if there was a delay, I was informed that the appointment had not been confirmed by Diane, the supervisor. I read her the confirmation email, which I received from Carrie Armstrong she told me that there must have been an error and she would try to have a truck come to my apartment in the afternoon at 1:30 p.m. She said that she would send me a second confirmation email with the new time which she never sent. About an hour later, I found another moving company which offered same day moving services and so I called Diane back to cancel. She was extremely rude and unprofessional and she hung the phone up on me. I called back to speak to her manager and she told me that she was the supervisor and the owners wife. I also reported this company to the Better Business Bureau. Their license number is 39PM00109400. Save yourself the time and aggravation. Do not use this moving company. .
