  1. Cancellation Fee.

We hired All Needs Covered through MovingLabor to help move my terminally ill sister-in-law from a house to an apartment. Due to a last minute flare up of her illness, we had to delay the move and needed to cancel the movers with less than 24 hours notice. We called the moving company and explained the situation, of which they were very sympathetic and understanding and willing to consider waiving any cancellation fee. In any case, their full cancellation fee on their proforma invoice was stated as 50% of our moving costs or about $85. When we called them back to confirm the cancellation, they indicated we needed to call MovingLabor to get this done. When we contacted MovingLabor, they were insistent on charging us a $150 cancellation fee plus the $49 referral fee irregardless of why we were cancelling. Accordingly, MovingLabor made a $199 profit from my sister-in-laws terminal illness, while the actual movers were willing to make a concession due to the situation.

I have used MovingLabor several times before with good success, but based on this latest situation, will never use them again or refer them to anyone else.

  2. Fees charged.

MovingLabor.com is a referral/middleman company. When I searched for moving help to unload a U-haul truck from AZ to WA. I got a referral of three moving helpers companies from MovingLabor.com. However, MovingLabor.com required a $49.00 "deposit" from my credit card, and said it would be applied to my final moving costs. In reality, it was a referral "fee" of $49.00 that they charge you for referring moving helper companies, and the $49.00 goes directly into their pockets. I was going to subtract the $49.00 from the cost of $215.00 the moving helpers charged me. However when I contacted the moving helpers company they told me they pay MovingLabors.com a monthly fee for referrals, and knew nothing of a $49.00 "deposit". I had to pay them the full $215.00 AND $49.00 to MovingLabors.com. This is totally misleading of MovingLabors.com. They should call it what it is..a non-refundable referral fee that has nothing to being applied to the final cost of any moving helpers companies. I would never use MovingLabors.com again. I moved three truck loads here and have more to come. I will never recommend MovingLabor.com to anyone. They would do better to act like Angie's List or Craigslist and accept referrals from companies who already pay them for referrals, not both the moving helper companies AND the end customer who use the moving helpers.

  3. Highly disappointing.

I used movinglabor.com for a move recently to pack household items and load them onto a moving truck. They set us up with ritenowmovers. I contacted ritenowmovers before the job to get an estimation of time (which he quoted us 5-7 hours) and for them to bring all the needed moving boxes and supplies. The day arrives, and it was terrible. A crew of 3 was there for nearly 12 hours, and they packed at best 75% of the house. They ran out of supplies less than half way through the day. We asked them how much more they needed, and went to the store and bought more supplies than they asked for. They ran out of supplies again 4 more times, and had to go to the store to get more. We complained multiple times to ritenowmovers during the day, and we were assured the pace would pick up and things would be made right. Neither happened. We ending up spending much of the day packing ourselves. At the end of the day, the job was not finished. The moving truck was filled, but the packing was not done. It took 4 people an additional 4 hours the next day to pack.
After arriving at the destination and unpacking, we found that they had packed the kitchen table without removing the legs. They did not support the bottom of the table with anything, and put heavy boxes on top. I have moved 4 times previously, and every time the movers took off the table legs and packed the table properly. Of course we discovered a significant crack on the top of the table. There were a number of other items damaged that were not packed properly. We discovered that about 10 boxes that were packed were half full or less. There were items scattered around the moving truck and not packaged properly. The crew also took an expensive table lamp and wedged it between boxes in the moving truck rather than packing it in a box.
The owner of ritenowmovers gave us a discount the day of, but it nowhere near compensated for the time (despite promising significantly less time), the poor packing job that resulted in damaged items, and the additional hastle of having to finish an uncompleted job ourselves. I wrote a formal email to ritenowmovers with the complaints, and heard nothing for weeks. While waiting, I called movinglabor.com and submitted a formal complaint. The employee I dealt with said the right things at first, but then started to make excuses. I told him about the time, and he told me that the job could easily take 12 hours. He completely missed the point that we were given a 5-7 hour estimate, and it took at least 3 times that long, considering how much time we spent packing that day and the next. After not responding to a number of emails and phone calls, he gives me some legalize about how they can't be held responsible for damaged items unless they are reported while the movers were on site. Well, maybe we could have watched the movers more closely if we weren't spending all our time packing and going to the store and getting packing supplies for them. The issue is not resolved with movinglabor.com yet, but I do not feel like my complaint was taken seriously enough, and as far as I am aware of, has amounted to anything.
As far as my interactions with ritenowmovers, I had sent a well thought out email, complete with photos, that overviewed the issues we had. After a number of weeks, we got a response that had a photo of the table in the moving truck with the heavy boxes on it, saying 'Here was how your table was packed. No damages were caused by my crew.' If he would have read the email and looked at the photos, he would have seen that the crack was on top of the table, and could not been seen from the photo. He did not respond to all the other complaints I had in the email. I replied several times to this email, and still haven't heard a word from him. He told me the day of that he wanted to make it right, but his actions show that this wasn't really meant.

  4. Unreliable and Lacking Integrity.

MovingLabor.com says it aims to bring reliability and integrity back to the moving industry. This is a lie. The company failed to provide services promised and then charged us. Avoid this company. They want your money and don’t care about their customers.

  5. Would never use this company again!

The selection of movers to pack my truck in New York City was easy and the crew was very professional. The same can not be said for unloading crew or the how Moving Labor handled the issue. The company I selected in St. Louis did not respond to the initial request and I called Moving Labor (in early May). I was informed that the moving company owner had been in an accident and his wife was going to keep the company going. A week later, I called Moving Labor again and was told they were going to do the job. The crew in New York City texted me right after acceptance of the job in May and again confirmed a couple of days ahead of time (July 17) and stated they were great. However, the unloading company not only did not reach out to confirm but after two days of trying to reach them by phone and email, I was getting concerned on getting my truck unloaded in time to return it. I reached out to friends who were going to take time off to assist (while driving back to St. Louis). I called Moving Labor at 1PM the day before my unloading stating that the unloading company was not responding and was told they would reach out. Within an hour I was told they are not responding, but they have another company that can do the job. By this point, I had no only made multiple calls to Moving Labor over the transition, but had reached out to friends to help. I told Moving Labor that I was no longer interested and I was informed that my cancelation fee was 49.00, because I was canceling less than seven days before the day. Unbelievable!

  6. Excellent Service.

We used Elite to help us pack our condo in Connecticut into our moving POD. They arrived on time, worked hard and they were able to pack every last item from the condo into the POD.

We settled temporarily in Charlotte and needed Elite movers help us with our move to Myrtle Beach. Once again they arrived on time to our POD location in Charlotte and unpacked the POD into our Uhaul truck, they then followed us to our apartment in Charlotte to pack remaining items into the truck.

Once in Myrtle Beach we hired Elite moving to help us unpack the Uhaul truck into our new house. They were on time and unpacked the truck in record time.

Would highly recommend Elite, every State that we used them in resulted in the same high standards.

  7. Cancellation fee.

Beware of non-refundable $50 fee if you have to cancel. I gave them 5 days notice but they would not return my money. I can see if I gave them 24 hours or less but this seems very unfair and almost
    like thievery.

  8. Very Professional.

Elite moving connected me with an excellent local company that handled my belongings carefully and skillfully. The team was very helpful in the entire process. They called ahead, showed up on time and worked quickly. Thank you.

  9. One bad apple..

The lead guy was very professional but the two other guys acted like they never performed a move or packout before. I specifically asked for mature and experienced pros but I did not get them. One of the mover/packers was over an hour late and we later learned that he had placed some of our tools and equipment in the basement window wells. Apparently, he was going to come back later and take these items. Fortunately, we found them before he came back that night. This same guy was late the 2nd day as well.

  10. Would definitely use this company again!

I scheduled movers using Elite Moving Labor for my move from Riverside, CA to Henderson, NV. Both sets of movers were professional, hard-working, and pleasant to do business with. They brought tools which was great and the unloaders even set my furniture up for me. The pricing was very good and booking was easy. I also saved money on my Penske truck rental which was nice. I would definitely use them again and have recommended them to friends and family already.

  11. Efficient and professional.

The service people were friendly and understood my needs. We had just relocated from Texas to Georgia and only needed help unloading a 26ft truck. Everything in the truck had shifted during the drive so it was a mess. But the guys sent out quickly assessed the situation and got to work. They were quick, friendly, and efficient.

I was surprised by how quickly they were able to unload everything. I expected it would take at least 2-3hrs but they were done within a hour and a half. I would definitely use them again! I called around getting quotes from other companies and chose this one simply due to how reasonable the prices were and how friendly the sales people were.

When the other companies learned I chose Elite Moving Labor over them they quickly became rude, immature and unprofessional and tried to sway me but I'm satisfied with my choice.

  12. Fantastic Service.

Elite arranged labor for our move on both ends - I have no qualms about highly recommending their services. Prices are beyond reasonable, the movers they contracted with were timely, friendly, knowledgeable and professional and at all stages of our move I was kept informed.

  13. Excellent Moving Help.

I found Elite Moving Labor and absolutely do not regret it! I hired them to load and unload my rented moving truck in Atlanta and Chicago and I found the service to be both affordable and professional. I highly recommend them if you are looking for help with moving your heavy items.

  14. Great Job - Amazing Team.

I am still amazed how the team Elite sent us could fit everything in the pod we were moving our household possession in. They packed it fast and professionally - I'd use their service again in a heartbeat. I can't say enough about their service!

  15. Great job!

I completed an online quote on a Thursday for a Friday morning move. I received an immediate response and the booked my move right away. The next morning two movers showed up. They were very professional and did a great job. No damage at all.
