  1. Great Customer Service.

I gotta say you pay for what you get. We paid $1250 for our recent 4 bedroom house move but from paying the deposit to the move being completed was just a breeze! I don't usually post reviews but this one has to be mentioned.

  2. Got a great deal on my recent move.

Very happy with the moving service. I'm a repeat customer and they offered me a 5% discount on my total move. If you have a choice ask for "Amer" he was a great supervisor.

  3. Worst Move Ever.

Absolutely horrible experience. It took them 11 hours to move a 1 bedroom condo, 5 minutes down the road. The movers were slow and inexperienced, did not properly protect furniture or use the moving blankets. Tons of damage - broken chair leg, ripped corners of the couch, couch cushions filthy dirty (just laying on the floor of the truck! and needed to be dry cleaned). No accountability afterwards. Don't fall for the low hourly rate, you will end up paying more in the end.

  4. What a great moving company.

I saved myself a huge headache by going with my smart movers. I was very skeptical at first and wants sure what to expect but Im glad that I chose My Smart Movers because they took out the hassle out of my moving experience. I will use them again in the future and I will also recommend them to my family and friends. From my side they are 5/5.

The movers can uniformed and were very polite and the manager I believe his name was jay was very friendly as well.

  5. Good Experience with My Smart Movers.

I was reading the reviews online and saw some positive and some negative reviews. After using their services I was surprised to see how professional and timely the movers were. My estimate was exact and I had a very good moving experience. It seems that some of the negative reviews are by competition because after using their services it doesn't make any sense why people would rate them 1 star?

  6. Avoid this company at all costs.

Do not be fooled by the friendly and efficient service you receive when you ask for an initial quote. It all goes downhill from there. A relocation is already stressful enough as is, and this company made it all worse. I had booked a 3-seater truck since I don't have a car and wanted to arrive to my new place with the movers. The morning of the move, I got a phone call from the company saying that there was an issue with the 3-seater truck and they had booked a 2-seater instead. I explained my situation and after insisting, they said I would have to wait until the 3-seater got repaired. The move started one hour later than planned, and the movers came unprepared. They had no ramp, no runners and no moving straps. Although friendly, they seemed unexperienced and I had to insist they wrap my furniture in blankets. Once in Montreal, the truck broke down as soon as it was parked in front of my apartement building. The movers called their supervisor, who instructed them to fix the truck, before unloading any of my stuff. After waiting over an hour, I called the company myself, saying it was unacceptable service. The movers then proceeded to unload the truck, but with the company putting pressure on repairing the truck instead of taking care of my move, they rushed through the whole thing, scratching the stairway wall. All in all, the move took roughly an extra four hours than it was supposed to. I complained to the company afterward, expecting a compensation, if not for the poor service, at least for the scratched wall. After many phone calls and emails, the company denied my claim, saying that interior or exterior damage was not covered by the insurance I had picked. They never addressed the poor quality of their service (not even an apology) and refused to compensate me in any way. This is not a professional company, so steer away. I know I will next time I relocate. PS. The company did not even want to send a mechanic to repair the truck. The movers (obviously not mechanics) had to fiddle around the engine to somehow get it to start. I stayed with them another hour after my move was done to make sure they would get back to Ottawa safely. Goes to show the company doesn't care more about its employees than it does about its customers.

  7. Worst Movers Ever!

First of all, the movers came unprepared without moving straps, did not put runners in the home (even though it was raining) and seemed young and inexperienced.  I watched one of the movers come down a flight of stairs while talking on his cell phone.  Then I watched the movers PUSH my washing machine through the doorway resulting in the front door being completely scratched.  They also significantly damaged my entrance wall.  Furthermore, I watched them drag furniture in the truck without using blankets  and they never secured/protected any of the furniture once they were in the truck.  The truck was not well packed and we were giving the movers instructions on how to secure the items.  Due to their obvious lack of experience and disrespect for our belongings, we had our friends do the remaining of the move and we did not allow the movers to move anything into our new home fearing further damages.   When I asked Daud how we would deal with these damages, he stated we needed to contact the company. We also had no choice but to pay him cash otherwise we could not unload the truck.  It's been over a week now, and we have not heard back from anybody.  This company is extremely unprofessional and I beg you NOT TO USE THEM.

  8. Awesome moving company for my local ottawa move.

I got the $80 promotion and just used their services. Very happy with my decision. They are awesome! I was initially searching for a moving company that was a good rate and a good deal but at the same time had good reviews. I read about my smart movers ottawa on the BBB site and decided to give them a try. Will use them again in the future. I just had my sister in law use their services as well and she said she was very happy with them as well.

I'm very involved in the Ottawa community and anyone looking for a mover with a hassle free moving should call my smart movers.

They are honestly one of the best moving companies currently operating in Ottawa.

  9. My Move from Ottawa to Montreal.

I recently had a move from Ottawa To Montreal. I was fairly surprised to see that these movers came uniformed and a lot more equipment was included in the rate than my previous movers. I did take $120 Insurance option which covered me for $2000. Thankfully nothing was broken and I had been offered a flat rate quote which worked out perfect for me! I will use these guys again the future.

  10. Ottawa To Toronto Move.

My recent move from Ottawa to Toronto was amazing and hassle free! These guys were very professional and they did a good job! One of the guy actually gave me some tips about accounting as well since he was a well educated mover. I was very surprised at how pleasent these guys were. They came uniformed and my total bill was $1250 plus taxes which was worth the hassle free move. I highly recommend these guys for long distance moving.

  11. Aweful, Aweful And Aweful.

Hi we hired my smart movers in Ottawa on September 29th, 2014. Our move was 5 kilometers down the road. I was given an estimate of 305 plus tax on the phone. The guys wasted time in talking to their boss Shom on the phone all the time during the move. The movers also wasted time in organzing the truck. It took them 2 hours to put things in the truck and back out of the truck at the origin. There were not enough blankets to cover all my furniture and the movers had to strip some blankets of the already wrapped items to use as blankets for the more valuable pieces. This took even more time. At the end, the movers requested 7 hours of work in advance (711.90$). I asked why, when they only took 3 hours and all the additional times is just a wasted time. The movers (Dawood) threatened to sell the furniture, forced me to go to an ATM machine on my own when I am 33 weeks pregnant, took the money 711.90, stripped my furniture from the blankets and left me and my husband with our furniture lying outside the appartment building, some pieces in the street and other furniture pieces in the groud level of the appartment building we are moving to. This is a crime against humanity, taking the money and not completing the job, wasting time trying to earn more money by talking on the phone and chatting, wrapping, unwrapping and re-wrapping furniture, not completing the job that they were paid for and were assigned to do, Pregnant victimMarlene  .

  12. Terrible Customer Service and didn't receive our things for a month.

American Moving Group subcontracted Smart Movers out of Griffith IN. to do our move they were suppose to pickup on the 8-5 and they picked up 8-4 and 3 hrs past when they said they would pickup. I'm on my way to Denver and my wife is still in Indianapolis, she tells me Smart Movers wants $1200 to pickup, we have already given American Moving Group $800 which we thought were performing the move. We were wrong. So we get to Westminster CO.8-6 expecting our things to be right behind us. We get an email stating we owe another $2064 upon delivery. I was Livid!..I was quoted by American Moving Group our total cost would be $2800 for the entire move which I thought they were performing, so I email the contact back and let him know I'm protesting these added fees and refuse to pay him. So he sends me an email back saying he wanted me to wire him the money through Chase in order to get our belongings. Again I refused. So we go back in forth through email, we agree to pay the money. They agreed to deliver, this correspondence was going on between 8-6 and 8-16-14. So we were emailing them everyday for a month wanting to know when they would be delivering our things. NOTHING and LIES. They said they were going to deliver 9-1..another lie. I threatened to call law enforcement and they delivered on 9-6. Some of our things were damaged and poorly packaged. Be careful with these online 3rd party moving companies they are CROOKED and Scam Artist. So when the movers get here they charge us $160 "stair fee"..Unbelievable. We are just happy to get our life long possessions from these scammers. Any moving company that ask for money up front , be wary of. The use the law to their advantage and manipulate it to their favor.

  13. Good Moving Experience with My Smart Movers.

I read a bad review and wasn't sure about using My Smart Movers but I'm glad I did. I usually don't write reviews but this one had to be said! Will recommend them again. The movers were dressed up well and seemed very professional. One of the guy was in training but he was being taught the supervisor very well and I have no complaints at all with them.

  14. Never again.

I hired My Smart Movers to move stuff in ottawa. The first section contains about 50 boxes, a desk and no other furniture. The quote from the company before moving is 1.5 hours to 2 hours. And it took three movers 5 hours. The second part of moving also took 5 hours, which only took other company 2 hours ( I moved the same stuff from before).
The 3 movers are all students. They are not trained to move things. Also, 2 movers are from Middle East and they really know how to take break. The worst is even though they dragged their feet trying to earn more money, we still give them $80 for tip. And the guy from Kuwait, still charged for their half hour break even though he knew the company's policy prohibit from doing that.
The problem is the company itself. When I called to reflect their poor service, they guy said it needs that amount of time. Instead of training their employees and improve their service, that is what he can say. Also, they are quick to response to get your business, but didn't response if you want to get your money back. I sent fax, emails and called and nothing will get their attention. The ad. on their website 100% satisfaction guarantee is a joke. It is a total rip-off! Never again!
