    Negative 20 stars.

    I can't believe these schmucks are still in business. My nightmare happened in 2017. Totally ripped us off. Did the same thing as far as refusing to unload our truck until they were paid. Christian and Manny are running a scheme here. Quote low, show up with a smaller truck than requested. Called for back up truck. tripled the price. refused to unload. They need to be investigated.

    Scammers.

    A living nightmare we were told a quote paid $690.000 for truck rental ,regional manager Gemma told me someone would be in touch prior to move that never happened !! Guy showed up and asked for $2,400 and only took my [EDIT] boxes left my furniture ,foreman Chris is a joke no customer service skills what so ever you call and no one calls you back they'll say they will and you'll get no reply .This is a FRAUD COMPANY!! I would have been better to rent uhaul then I would have my belongings all together.

    Horrible experience .

    Like all of the others here my husband and I had a horrible experience. We were told a quote, and when Manny arrived to pick up our property, the price was increased. We were promised our furniture in a few days.IT TOOK THEM 2 and a half WEEKS TO DELIVER OUR FURNITURE! We called multiple times to get status of our property. Most of the time no one answered the phone. Manny and Chris answered our calls and gave us the song and dance when THEY DID DECIDE to answer the phone. We put out money we didn't have on clothes, pots and pans, ect..They never told us it would take as long as it did to DELIVER our property. When our property was finally delivered, they had a nerve to want more money. The police was called,long story short, we had to pay the additional money for them to unload the truck. Police couldn't do anything but suggest small claims court, which we intend to do. We also called the Maryland State police and made a complaint. This is a fraudulent company and they should be shut down! Absolutely horrible experience.

    Terrible company.

    They lie about their quote. Once there they want to charge more. Keep you stuff hostage for weeks waiting on delivery. Chris is a scam artist. Does not answer phone calls, hides like a rat. Make sure to inspect all your stuff once delivered for broken items before you pay.

    Beware.

    Just want to let everyone know that this company should be fined and put out of business. They have employees that are trained to listen and lie to you. That is if you are not put on hold for 20 minutes and hung up on. They tell you every Thursday that your good will be delivered on Saturday or Sunday. We have been told this story 5 weeks in a row. Please contact a reputable company and avoid this one at all costs.

    Will make this short they quoted us below 5K as of now it is over 12K took our house full of stuff will not return calls or texts we don't know where our stuff is it worth over 200K--we are calling the state police in Va., Md. and Fla if you read the reviews they are stealing from everyone they deal with they also use Rapid Relocations as another name the number 954 440 8139 belongs to Ramon F Pichardo 3199 Foxcroft Rd apt 113 Miramar, Fl also they only want cash.

    Vienna , VA to Irving , TX more than a month but not delivered.

    Same story like other reviews no different . My stuff was picked up on 23rd June and still not delivered . Many phone calls to Manny and Christian overbi , no one picks up the calls and responds . They charged me more than what they quoted me and now I am going through lot of trouble beacause of them . I will keep updating my status till I get my stuff delivered .

    They never came.

    Honestly I would not even give them a single star. I wish I would have read these reviews beforw. Set the move 1.5 months before and confirmed three times over email and phone the pickup date. Called in the day before the scheduled pickup day and they still confirmed my move and told me it would be scheduled between 4-6pm. I called in again to confirm the move the day of the actual move and they, again, confirmed. It was 4pm and no one came, 5pm and still no news of anyone, 6pm and no one appeared. I called around 20 times and tried talking to three different people. Only Cristian, the one who I signed the contract to begin with, was trying to help and yet promised me they were delayed, but would still come later that night around 8-9pm. I had an early flight to Boston the next day so I needed to know if they were coming or not so that I could reschedule it. It was 11pm and still nothing. I called every number I could find, left voice mails and emails and still nothing. I missed my flight which cost me $350 more to reschedule. Someone sent me a text around 12pm saying they had a problem but if I still needed them they COULD (did not say WOULD) come the next day between 2-5pm, I just had to let them know if I wanted the service. OF COURSE I WANTED THE SERVICE TO BEGIN WITH! I NEEDED TO MOVE THAT IS WHY I SCHEDULED SO FAR IN ADVANCE. I was furious. There was NO communication whatsoever and I missed my flight. I had to look for another company who THANK GOD went out of their way to help me within a day so that I could fly out to Boston that same week. The other company, Purple Hearts, which I extremely recommend, came the next day at the scheduled time to pickup my boxes. All I got from “my state to state movers” was a stolen deposit (they did not gave it back) and a “I am sorry” TEXT not even a formal email.

    Worst experance ever.

    Chris Overbi talked good , but did not follow threw with what he told us. Our contract stated one thing but Manny would not follow threw with contract. Sent people who said did not speak English, We were told they would keep furnture up to 30 days at extra charge and they tried to charge $500 . Ended up paying $250. just to get stuff and contract stated 300.00 credit which we did not get. They only had our stuff for 2 nights and did not pick up or delv on time promiced. Also when delv they marked up walls and threw everything , broke stuff and threw trash everywhere. Drank our bottle water and did not offer to pay for it then threw bottle on ground and in garage. I called Chris an average of 20 times but he never returned calls. I would never recomend this so called Company to anyone.

    Do Not Use State to State Movers!!

    State to State Movers are a complete RIPOFF!! Chris Overbi talks a good game like your getting the best move at the best cost in the country and he could piggyback with another person to get a better deal. On Saturday the truck was late, Manny scheduled the pickup at 9 AM didn't show till 4:30 PM. I had packed all my belonging prior to them getting there to make it a little easier for Manny. Once the truck was loaded Manny came in and said I exceeded the original estimate of 310 CF and I exceeded the estimate by 200 CF because I used extra large moving boxes and 4 wardrobe boxed. I disagreed with Manny and he said he would give me a flat rate of $1800 for the move and required $900 up front.The original estimate from Chris was quoted $1000.00 for the move from Clarksburg MD to Charlotte NC and was guaranteed my furniture would be delivered to Charlotte by Monday no later than Tuesday. On Monday I called Manny and he was very rude and disrespectful. He told me I my furniture was in Charleston SC and if I wanted to get it quickly it would cost an additional $500. I was livid and refused to pay the $500 and Manny stated I wasn't getting my furniture and hung up. I tried to get a hold of Chris calling numerous times, sending text and sending email. I never was never called back or messaged. I tried Manny again, trying to be diplomatic and trying to work with him. Again he became very combative and said I would not get my furniture period! I called Chris using my work phone and he answered on the second ring. I pretended to be a customer moving from DC the Charleston SC. Again he stated a price and it could be piggybacked on a truck going there and guaranteed 110% my furniture would by there in 3 days. Once I he was done telling lies I told him who I was and wanted to know where and when I would get my belonging, he abruptly hung-up. I tried to get a hold of Manny time and time again with no avail. I had enough and I contacted Maryland State Attorney's
    Office, other government agencies, my lawyer and insurance company to get State to State out of business.

    State to State is a fraudulate company, they lie and will con you. On last thing, 123 movers is a clearing house for those shady company's out there. So please beware.

    Move from VA to Texas.

    Classic bait and switch when it came to pricing. I received a quote from Christian over the phone that was quite reasonable. The movers showed up on time and did a very good job of packing and loading. When they were finished they presented me a bill that was more than 4x the quote. Not only that, they demanded cash or I could pay credit card plus 6% merchant fee. I declined both options.. we settled with me paying $5k on credit and the balance due at a later date. While they wanted a postal money order, I just sent them a cashier check. Our belongings were delivered as promised and the actual packing was top notch and nothing was damaged. So while the actual workers did a good job, that good will was lost based on the the bait and switch regarding the fees.. I would not recommend using state to state movers.

    Scam movers - Christian Overbi lied.

    I was quoted $899 I gave him a all the pieces Of furniture that I had from a two bedroom condo. I didn’t have more boxes than original estimate. I was moving from Bel Air Maryland to Milton Delaware two hour ride I had to have my stuff put in storage for six months until the house was completed.And by the time the whole thing was over cost me $4000 . That did not include the storage that was additional $300 a month . Manny, the gentleman that I worked with who actually did the moving from my house took my credit card but he charge me an additional $150 what he called was a merchant fee. I disputed it with my American Express. I don’t see why if it’s a merchant fee I’m the customer why did I have to pay it! They really do have you over a barrel because they have your stuff. When they delivered it the member very nice and they did a very nice job with packing it and protecting it not one thing was broken or destroyed. However when the men left they left a huge box with all their trash as in, their food their drinks and other miscellaneous trash in my garage. Then since I put it on my visa they charge me a merchant fee again without telling me the balance was owed $1900 and my credit card was charged 2060. This company is a scam they go off the state to state logo. I called Christian back and I do not any return calls. I did get the charge reversed on the first part of the move, and he agreed I should not of been charged that. He said Manny made a mistake. When I called Manny back about the second portion of the delivery Manny argued with me and said that it is the merchants charge if I used a credit card it would be better if I used cash. He did not make me aware that if I paid by cash I would not have that charge. These men are gypsy movers in my opinion and although they say they’re part of state to state I doubt it.

    Listen to your instincts..

    I was contacted by Chris Overbi for my move from Columbia, MD to Central Texas. I have a minimal move of approximately 750 cu for my two bedroom apartment. With every other moving company, I had to provide a detailed inventory, but he assured me there was more than enough room on a piggy back move. He pressured for a deposit of $200.00.
    I found it odd that he conducted business via text message and it felt extremely unprofessional (emojis, poor grammar, etc). I spoke to my folks and they said it was a great price, nearly $1000 less than I had found elsewhere, and I should look at reviews. I found it odd that Chris provided screenshots of reviews rather than a website, but I placed the deposit on my credit card to be protected in the event I wanted to dispute the charges.
    I asked when we would be doing a detailed inventory and Chris assured me there was enough room, but if it would make me comfortable, I could send him a list. Again, I started to feel uneasy. I took to the internet and found these reviews. When I asked him to refund my deposit as I was choosing about her route for my move, he tried to bully me into giving him a reason and said I’d forfeit my deposit. It was not until I stated I would contact my bank that he said he would refund.

    I would highly recommend you stay away from him and this company. If you are researching PRIOR to committing to a company, please ask people the following:
    1) What’s the name of your company?
    2) Are you a carrier or a broker? (A carrier has their own trucks. A broker will act as the middleman and often doesn’t allot the appropriate monies to the actual truck which results in last minute charges—as is the case in these reviews.)
    3) What is your DOT #?

    Take the the time to research the company’s DOT number on “company snapshot” and www.protectyourmove.gov. As with any other company, there will be a profile on www.bbb.org. I am grateful that I listened to my gut and canceled services before dealing with this company. I hope this can help someone in the future.

    Horrible experience. Quote was $899 but ended up paying around $1,700 when all was said and done. We were only moving a bed, kids bed, tv, microwave and a few boxes. Please be aware that you do not have to pay in advance for the move. Please do not use this moving company!
