  1. Scam scam scam

If you book with this company after reading the reviews, you have been warned.

If you are reading reviews after booking, my advice is ask for a refund. DO NOT CANCEL YOUR MOVE. Canceling voids your refund.

I have moved cross country after changing employers three times. Whole house moves all three times. This last time we arranged a truck with National American Van Lines. Everything seemed normal, besides the over the phone quote, but with COVID, it has become more common.

No one called the day before scheduled pickup. When I called the day of pickup at 4pm they claimed to still be coming that day. The next morning, the backup date, I called and they couldn't the truck. They promised to call back. At noon I called again and asked for the trucks phone number. They gave it and the driver wouldn't tell me where he was but assured he was close. I looked up the company, which had all negative reviews, including a newspaper story describing three families whose belongings were not delivered after 90 days past delivery date. The booking company and truck company are both registered in the same city in FL.

Do research and ask yourself: is saving money worth the risk you lose all of your belongings?

  2. Worse broker ever

They contracted with USA Logistics in Sun Valley Ca. The quote they gave us ended up costing 10k more. We were told by the broker it would be half when they loaded and half when they delivered plus the deposit we had already put up. When we called the broker and said it's way over the amount and they want 80% to go to AZ. She said sorry about that nothing we can do. She said I guarantee you your belongings will arrive safely and be well packed. Our stuff was dumped into boxes. My water pic was dumped into box of household cleaning supplies that incidentally spilled all over it. Lead crystal was broken, dinner plates broken. Nothing was unpacked and set up whi h we were yolk was part of the move. Wardrobe boxes didn't have bars to hang clothes and they dumped household items on top of clothes. Our 8500k quote with 3000k down ended up costing us 14k. After the movers loaded the van they demand nearly 10k . They were supposed to deliver next day. They didn't. They moved our stuff from San Diego to Los Angeles when we had been told they were coming straight to Goodyear AZ. In Los A our stuff was moved to a semi, then they charged us to offload to a shuttle . We told them semis come into our neighborhood all the time. They ignored us and that was another charge. The broker is a thief and USA Logistics is too. Don't use a broker or USA Logistics. Run as fast as you can.

  3. Never again

Never use National American Van Lines out of Pompano, FL, who is a broker for moving companies. As they book your move, they are not transparent about all the up charges that the actual moving company will add on to the move after you have signed contract with National American. Plus, they are not responsible for your items. Job was assigned to Cosmos Transport of Fort Lauderdale , Florida. This company had many up charges and held belongings hostage on truck until more money was paid. Some items did not arrive at all on truck and other items broken. Worst moving experience ever. If you value your belongings, look elsewhere.

  4. Bait and switch

This company is a rip-off. They will give you one quote to get you to sign with them and will increase the fee the day before you ship your things (which by the way they can only take through Zelle, since you can't dispute or cancel payments made via Zelle). They will also tell you you only pay for the cubic feet you use, but don't do a count the day of pick-up. Fully regret hiring them to move my items.

  5. Run away from this broker!!!@

Let's just say after 3 months of not knowing where our stuff was we by miracle were notified the the storage unit was up for auction and we had 36 hours to save our stuff. When I called the broker they had know for 2 days that our stuff was going to be auctioned and never called us. Criminals

  6. Communication, delivery TERRIBLE

All good, until they pick up your shipment! Then Customer Service is terrible. They out source all trucking and the carrier they outsourced my job to isn’t even responding to them!!

It’s been 2 months since pick up and they don’t know where my things are and can’t give me a delivery date.

    DONT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

  7. Company who loves to take advantage of military members and their fami

Horrible company! We have had many moves and this has been the worse! With the pandemic we had to move ourselves due to last minute order. This company quoted one thing to change it the day of pick up and not by a little 3,000 more. Which did not make sense since we had gotten ride of things. They did it because they knew we had no choice. Any company who takes advantage of those who serve this great country should not be in business! Recommend steering clear of these thieves!

  8. Worst experience ever

Lure you into believing that they are reliable. They are a moving broker and put your move out to anyone that bites. Ended up costing almost double the quote. Dishonest.

  9. Terrible business practices

One of THE most miserable experiences of my life! I was relocating from the California Bay Area to Nebraska for a new job. I booked through NAVL because their price was good, and everything seemed very straightforward. I gave them a walkthrough of my property and was given an initial estimate of ~$7000, and we booked them and gave a deposit of $2850.00. I booked them on March 5, 2021 (before all the negative reviews) for a move July 20.

On July 16th, had another walkthrough, and the price went up ~$4000 because of cubic feet and more boxes. Hubby and I agreed to remove our beds, dining room table/chairs, couches and two credenzas to save $$. We figured since we removed those items the price would be around the original quote. WRONG.

On July 18th, "Brock" called me and told me that the initial moving company that had taken the job was no longer available, and the next carrier willing to take the job wanted another $1040.00 (deposit). I asked “Brock” what would happen if I didn’t have the $1040 that second for the additional deposit, and he said, “cancel your move”. Which is a tactic of bait and switch – if I did not have that $1040 readily available, he would have cancelled my move and kept my $3890 deposit!

The movers arrived July 20th. Orhan with Hizir Logistics shows up with day workers and begins to tell me I have way more than 1400 cubic feet, and that I have a full truck (2000 cf). THAT difference was an additional $7000! He said they could fill up the truck to 1400cf and then whatever is left I could choose to not take. This is AFTER going through the exact number of items the prior Friday with NAVL and eliminating all the big (i.e., cubic feet) of furniture. I was stuck! I had to start my new job in Nebraska on July 26th and we needed to bring all our property. After eliminating the large pieces of furniture - all I had left was items that were either meaningful or expensive.

NAVL told me to have 50% available of the total cost in Cash or Cashier’s Check, the movers required 60%. Reviewing the contract, it says “up to 70%” which is ridiculous! I failed to read the fine print in the contract, I just wrote down what the representative at NAVL told me. That is 100% on me. Also, I did not receive a Bill of Lading upon departure, and I do not have their DOT number or name even on the Bill of Lading. All of which is required by the DOT.

On July 21, we drove from California to Nebraska arriving July 24th. On Monday (26th) I begin calling about the delivery date. When I first booked with NAVL - they stayed delivery “within 21 days”. My property was partially delivered on Sept 5th and the rest delivered on Sept 7 – 48 days.

Then, the moving guy on September 6, was alone and he had to hire helpers. He hired the owner of the local motel where he stayed the night before and his son. It was not my full delivery! Orhan was bringing the rest of my property Tuesday Sept 7th! So, I took Sept 6th off, and I got a hold of Orhan asking him when he will be at my house, and he says "Wednesday"! So, I took Wednesday off as well - and he got to my house around 430pm. Alone without any help, which was fine since it was just boxes.

During this entire moving period, I called NAVL a bunch of times, called/texted Orhan a bunch of times and the owner of the moving company a bunch of times. Minimal response.

About six pieces of my solid wood furniture were damaged in the move. I called NAVL for Claims information and they emailed it to me a day later, with the incorrect moving company information (email stated, “Radius Moving and Storage”, when the cashier's checks were to Hizir Logistics”), and incorrect website information (email said to go to “Mymovingclaim.net” which does not exist, so after exploring I came across the correct one “movingclaims.net” (they responded to me that Hizir was in their database).

This was an absolute nightmare. The exorbitant price gauging, the complete lack of communication, the anguish over my new job and whether I was going to be "ok" asking for time off when I was new, and the semester just started (I got hired as a faculty member at a local college). I "assumed" that the 21 days (about 3 weeks) for delivery was authentic, so I would have had my property by August 10 - in time before school starts.

Also, after reading tons of reviews on this company – this lowball tactic is part of their game plan to hook people to pay a deposit (which according to most reviews – people never get back if they find a better price or a more highly reviewed company) or prey on your desperation on move day, which was my case.

  10. Amazing service.

As a woman with OCD I was so happy with this company service. They took pride in wrapping all of my furniture and valuables and moving it with the upmost care.

  11. Moving from long island to georgoa

I was so down on my luck and they greatly improved my entire day. They have changed the crisis of moving to the beautiful transition into the blessing it was. I would highly recommend for moving espiecally for anyone with anxiety and stress of moving already!!! Thank you !

  12. Stole money

Stole $1800 and didn’t show up for my move over multiple days. Now they won’t refund me the amount I paid.

  13. Scammers, Liars, and Thieves

They charge your account without telling you and randomly change the amount you owe. They are late on pick up and delivery. I hope this company goes into bankruptcy. National American Scam Lines. Get f**ed.

  14. Scammers- will take advance and wont move your stuff

These are one of the Worst company and big Scammers. First of while making reservation for the moving these guys will call 10 times a day. After signing contract worth $2500 and paying advance of $883 calls stopped. Then on day of pickup they are asking $1000 extra saying you have much volume even though I confirmed with them 4-5 times before signing contract all my stuff be covered in $2500. After refusing to pay $1000, I agreed with pickup guy to move stuff that be covered as part of Original payment $2500. But he got upset with it, started arguing. He started making choice of picking only small stuff, When I request him to move one item instead of another, he got more upset and directly left house without taking any of my items.

I then started calling American Van lines to speak to some supervisior, On the same day they started giving reason supervisor is busy and from next day they stopped pickuping my phone.

No matter what time I called, I always get message "you have called during outside office hours". and I had 3-4 direct numbers if their agent, they literally blocked me.

So inshort this guys tooks $883 from me and did nothing. Scammed me for $883 under the promise of moving my stuff

  15. Scammers

I cant say anything different then rest of the reviews stating that these people and the company are scammers.

They also took my deposit even though I called and canceled twice and even spoke to a suppose supervisor.

The mistake I made was not reading the reviews before I

gave them a deposit. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY . Everything that happened to others on reviews happened to me. I think we all should get together and sue the pants off this company!
