    Worst experience ever! Lost thousands of dollars worth of stuff and received $24 back. What an insult!

    My wife and I just got married and were moving to our new home. We wanted to make a honey moon out of it and was promised it would take a month for everything to get out there (due to it being rare for them to go there). So we planned a honeymoon road trip. We were called and told that they would be out here 2 weeks earlier than what we were promised or we can go another month of not getting it. So we canceled our reservations and lost a great deal of money for places we booked.

    Once they came out, a few things were broken and we thought they notated it down, they told us they did and we saw they did on one of them. They rushed us to sign it, saying that it was late and they had to get on the road. We signed it and then started putting stuff away within the next few days. We noticed we were missing a fair amount of boxed (around 10) and reached out to them. They found 3 of them and they were absolutely destroyed. Seemed they were thrown around with no disregard to what was inside.

    We were told that only our coffee table would be covered and would receive $24 for that. Everything else would not be and told that there was nothing else we can do.

    We plan on traveling the country, make another big move before we buy a house. I am very disappointed in this company. Thought it was different than the other horror stories, but apparently not.

  2. Worst Moving Company.

    Worst moving experience ever..

    There initial quote was reasonable and competitive, however, once the movers actually showed up on moving day, they began to indicate how heavy the stuff will be, this started the pressure to take the volume pricing vs. the weight. After my stuff was placed on the truck, the updated quote was prepared and based on the estimate, I picked the Volume method. Shortly after agreeing and signing the paperwork, the workers indicated an error in the calculations. After the correct, the quote doubled from the original estimates. I then picked the weight method which begin full pressure since they needed to make the next stop and taking a side trip to the truck scales would delay their next appointment.

    After my delivery date moved several days, my stuff was finally at my new location but my excitement was quickly gone when several items were damaged and broken beyond repair. After completing the insurance claim by the 3rd party company, my claim was finished. To date, I have not received my insurance claim from New Planet and all attempts are ignored by the office when following up about the payment.

  3. Worst move ever.

    Save yourself some grief and DO NOT USE this mover!! They showed up way later than scheduled, and the driver had to get two guys from Craig's List to help unload. Sadly, one of those guys could not read, so the check-in got all messed up. By the time all items were unloaded several item numbers had been repeated two or three times, and some not at all. The driver did not secure his load, so another person's load fell on him. The driver (Carlos) blamed the CL guys for this incident, so they got paid and left abruptly. Carlos insisted we could not straighten this out until I unpacked to find what was really there and what was not, so I got NO compensation for the actually missing items, and a cabinet was flattened. Then he whined about needing to go because he had another delivery that day. (I doubt it) No one can/will tell me what happens to missing boxes, even though each box had my name clearly written on it in magic marker, and I used a leopard print duct tape on every one. I contacted customer service 64 times, yet they could only document a single contact with the company on my behalf.

  4. Bad Experience with Contract/Delivery.

    Do not use this company for your next move.

    Initially they were very nice on the phone to get us to sign - and we did research thinking they would be good for our move across the country. However, the problems started when they charged my husband 100% of the bill when they were only supposed to take a 10% service charge. The charges were not reversed till multiple calls later.

    Next, the contract they had us sign at the time of picking up our items was not fully explained to us. They tried to say it was, but it never was on the phone or via any of the emails we saved. I will attempt to post photos of those contracts so no one else feels like they are being taken at the time of pick up. We were never told about: a) the 21 to 30 BUSINESS day window for delivery (and of note one piece of paper says 21 days and one says 30 days so the contract is confusing and contradictory), b) the only being able to bring claims against the company in Vegas, c) the extra charge for a secondary truck if your street is too small for delivery (chances are your street is too small, they pick up in a small truck and deliver in an 18-wheeler), and d) extra charges for stairs in your home. So beware extra charges at delivery.

    Speaking of delivery - we were told various delivery days in our near daily calls looking for our things. Initially it was 1 to 2 days, then 2 weeks, then the end of the month, then a Monday-Friday window, that changed to a Friday-Sunday window and all this with us being specific that we needed our stuff before a certain date because we would be out of town. They did owe us money because the delivery was over the 21 business day (over a month in real life) before we got our items. Even then, we only got our things after begging and threatening legal action (we did speak to a lawyer). Our convenience was never considered and the customer service was awful. They spent a lot of time explaining to us why they couldn't deliver because of not having trucks or drivers or a schedule.. they seemed not to know what was going on in their own company at times which was troubling and made us lose faith in their services.

    It was only after we received a call the morning we were to get our things telling us our delivery was delayed yet again, then rented a truck and were willing to drive 5 hours to meet them at a different house secondary to needing to travel for business the next day (the company was well aware of this) that they actually prioritized us and sent us our things. Of note (see above) it's good we rented the truck as we would have had to anyway because their big rig was too large to pull in front of our house. It all ended with one of the movers and my husband bringing everything into the house, thus my husband still had to do heavy lifting for the move. We were given a $200 discount, but it wasn't worth the hassle and worry the company put us through in receiving our things.

    In conclusion, use other movers if: a) you want transparency in your move, b) you don't want hidden costs, c) you want to receive your things in a timely manner.

  5. Real Fast!

    Had a great time working with these guys. I scheduled my move two months prior so there was no confusion, and they were so great about their courtesy calls. They called me a week ahead just to remind me and the morning of. I'm very happy with this company.

  6. Long Distance Move.

    Had a great experience moving with New Planet, they did a great job and I wanted to write a review and recommend them to others, they are a fantastic company. I usually hate moving because of all the hassle, but this time I can say that I did not feel the stress like I have in previous moves. I scheduled my move from California to Las Vegas, so it definitely was not a small move. They gave me a window of time that all my belongings would arrive in Las Vegas, and they definitely kept within that window, I was actually surprised because I had heard many stories before that moving companies often take much longer when it is a long distance move. Thankfully that was not the case. All of my stuff arrived just as they were when they loaded them into the truck, which I really appreciated. The crew handled everything with care and made sure to wrap all items that might of been damaged on the way. It was truly exceptional service on their part and I could not have asked for more.     Overall New Planet provided excellent services in moving me from the LA region to the midwest. The movers were courteous and careful. They arrived promptly for the move and as planned for the delivery. My auto was included in the move as was a grand piano. Both arrived unscathed. So too did my furnishings.

    HORRIBLE ,BROKE THINGS .THEY SAID IT WAS ALREADY BROKE , YELLING AT A 80 OLD WOMAN WH 5 STINTS IN HER HEART IS NOT RIGHT WHEN SHE QUESTIONED ABT THE LAMP ,NO COMPASSION ,SHE JUST LOST HER HUSBAND 3 MONTHS AGO, WE HAD A CONTRACT OF $$3,020 NOW THEY ALSO WANT TO CHARGE MORE ,IT SAYS MATERIALS INCLUDED ,THEY CHARGED HER 200.00 MORE ,THEN SAID IT GOING COST now !! 4,000 NOT THE PRICE THAT WAS AGREED TO, HOW DOES IT FEEL TO SCREW A OLD LADY , HORRIBLE COMPANY,movers are [EDIT] to my mom.

  9. Excellent Cross Country Move!!

    Thank you so much New Planet for getting our family's home safely from Chicago to Scottsdale this summer! The guys had such a wonderful attitude throughout the entire process and took such great care of all of our personal items being moved. Lauren A. is wonderful at their office in Las Vegas! She is always prompt to email or call us back and answer any questions that we may have. Lauren was our associate for both moves in the past year and was part of the reason we chose to use the company again! Thanks again New Planet. We will definitely be referring you to other friends and family :).

  11. Scam.

    These people are crooks! We moved from Arizona to Oregon and when the truck finally arrived it was missing a lot of our belongings and almost every box we opened had something broken in it, I have moved several times and pack my items very meticulously but it didn't matter, some of the boxes looked like they had gone through a crusher. We had payed the "standard insurance" and even though they lost thousands of dollars worth of our belongings, they offered us $50. Terrible company, go with someone else.

  12. Good experience with New Planet.

    I moved from California to Dallas, Texas in Oct and had to have my items stored in transit for a couple of months while I was in temp housing and trying to find an apartment. I did a lot of research and finally selected New Planet. The price was among the best but it was still kind of a leap of faith when I picked them.

    The move itself was standard. The movers kind of rushed some of the paperwork when I had questions, there was a little scratch in the hardwood floor when they were done, and there was one box that was repacked that didn't meet my standards. But I've relocated several times for work and I've come to expect a few things like that in any move and have had much worse with other companies.

    Where I found New Planet to be exceptional was with it's customer service. Lauren in particular. She was the first person I spoke to and was there for me from beginning to end. I had a lot of questions and a couple of concerns upon delivery and wound up contacting them a lot. Lauren and all the other staff I spoke to were always available and responded immediately, both by phone and email. I even got a reply on the Sunday of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, which I appreciated since my move in date was slated was Dec 1. And they did actually arrange to deliver my items with just 2 days notice.

    I don't ever write reviews but customer service is a lost art these days, and I feel that good customer services deserves a shout out.

  13. Great Job!!

    Movers came on time when they were suppose too. They were able to take all my stuff out (3bed 2.5 bath plus tvs, desks etc) in about 2.5 hours. They supplied tape and blankets (saves you money on buying boxes, but they do offer boxes for sale if needed) and were very courtous throughout. They aimed for 10 days but since I lived in AZ, they are located in Nevada. They did arrive in Orlando within 2 days of their estimated time and worked quickly and efficently. No damage, everything set up and placed correctly and again were respectful. In fact we over-estimated our weight and I was able to get some money off my final bill. Thank you again. Seriously, this company works well and will give you the best price they can :). Ask for Brandi when calling as she was very helpful throughout the process and made me not worry about my money or goods.

  14. Easy Move!

    New Planet did a great job!! They took the stress out of moving, and made our move easy and simple with no hidden fees or catches. They actually dropped the price at the end! They showed up on time and worked quickly and efficiently. I'd highly recommend them! The sales rep I worked with was happy to walk through the contract detail by detail, and the movers handled my goods well and and padded and taped furniture at no coat to prevent damage.

  15. Avoid at All Costs.

    Possibly the most thetiving, unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. Upon item delivery, they insisted I pay an extra $400 on top of my original quote because they had JUST googled my delivery destination and decided the delivery truck wouldn't fit into my apartments parking lot. I told them this was not true, and it would fit fine. At this point the phone operator lied to me saying the delivery man had drove the truck by and determined the lot was too big (The delivery man never contacted me and certainly did not drive up to the lot as it is huge and could easily fit). I brought this to the lady on the phones attention and she began to threated additional charges of $1000 if they have to hold my belongings. Finally I convinced her to send the truck to the apartment and CALL. That's where the real fun begins.  The truck that arrives is filled with my belongings and contractors that the moving company has hired. The truck easily fits into the parking area. The contractos decide my hallway is too long and tell me they want to charge me an extra $365 to move my belongings and if I don't pay they wont unload the truck. I tell them I am going to contact the better business berou  by telling them I am going to contact The Better Business Bureau but they do not care as they are not part of the actual moving company. I have no option but to pay $365 to the contractors or $1000 to the moving company. My total costs were quoted at $1500 and the deal ended up costing me $2000 total (including tipping on the pickup end of the move) WHAT A NIGHTMARE! AVOID! .
