  1. Would HIGHLY not recommend

There were three movers at my house for three days. I have only unpacked about a third so far but I have found a bent 23-year old photo, a broken 46-year old figurine, and most of my boxes were not labeled by room or at all, which makes it very hard to find and unpack my belongings. One of the movers left a cardboard box of used kleenexes, they threw their tape roll garbage IN with my belongings and left candy wrappers all over my house. They were the worst movers I have ever had and my husband was military so we have moved many times. When I offered to buy pizza for lunch they said they did not want pizza so I gave them money to get lunch and they kept the change. The next day my husband gave him lunch and they returned part of the change but pocketed $20.

The worst parts: boxes not labeled, glass packed unprotected in a box with free-weights, and computers not packed with their cords and monitors and not labeled so I have one monitor but no computer/keyboard/mouse/cords and one computer without monitor/keyboard/mouse/cords. Who packs like that? Cleary they did not care about their job.

Three guys out of Wichita, big big thumbs down. Shame on them.

  2. Do Not Use This Company

This was he worst moving experience we have ever had. They lied, broke items, destroyed landscaping, and their services were horrible. It took months to resolve the claims. The lied upfront(Christian, salesman) about the scheduling. Did not follow through as indicated - had to initiate. Over charged.

  3. Stole $8000 Worth of Belongings.

New World Van Lines stole $8000 worth of expensive silverware. I filed a claim for the missing silverware, but they simply refused to pay. I ended up having to file a police report for the stolen property. I am currently working with my insurance company to try to recoup some of the money.

Here's my advice. New World Van Lines will likely ask you to sign a form listing high value items 5 minutes before they leave with a fully loaded truck. Take time in advance to list everything in full detail. Don't just write "silverware". Write "12 place settings of Towle Old Master Sterling Silver". Then, when they steal it, get a good lawyer.

New World was also extremely expensive, but I had to go with them because they were the movers chosen by my relo company.

  4. Do not use this moving company.

In Feb 2015 we were transferred from New Mexico to Texas.  This was one of the worst moving experiences I've ever had.  The movers seemed great packing my belongings.  We didn't notice anything until we arrived in Texas.  They did not put any protection on our hardwood floors and they were scratched beyond belief.  They destroyed my bedroom furniture cracked the frame of my husbands riding lawn mower.  At one point, one of the movers brought a cast iron bbq pit into the house.  When my husband asked where he was going with that he wanted to take it out the patio door, which it would not fit through, The mover argued with my husband for several minutes then took it back out the way he brought in in.  not only that, the movers constantly argued with each other. We finally got an adjuster to come and take a look at the damages.  he was a nice enough guy but didn't show up until about 9:30pm on a Sunday night.  we tried to add an item we forgot to put on the original claim but it was rejected. We received a check for a portion of the claims.  they rejected portions of our claims stating there was no proof that they were not like that when the movers arrived.if I could give them a negative star, I would!!

  5. Worst experience with New World Van Lines.

In July 2014, my husband and I moved from St. Louis, Missouri to Los Angeles, California. We had to move on very short notice for an employment opportunity. My husband's employer paid the relocation costs and connected us with New World Van Lines and their insurance company, UNIRISC, Inc for the move. My husband and I have had a very negative experience with both companies such as failure to pick up items as instructed, damaging our home during the move-in, and breaking many items during shipment.
However, the most problematic issue was how New World Van Lines and their insurance company dealt with missing items. When our delivery load arrived, I immediately realized that there were several missing items. I was most concerned with the large custom-cut glass table tops for our coffee table and sofa table. The accompanying legs for the two tables had arrived. However, I was unable to locate the glass tops. I immediately asked the movers where these items were located. They reassured me that the table tops were within several large flat boxes (The movers had repackaged all of our items in their own boxes). Given that the movers were unwilling to help me unpackage the heavy boxes that we presumed were filled with the glass tops, I was unable to safely check without risking serious injury.Nonetheless, days later, I was able to open all the boxes. The boxes in which the movers claimed the tabletops were in actually contained paintings and mirrors-not the custom-cut tabletops. I checked all of the other boxes and the two glass tabletops were nowhere to be found.
I immediately reported the missing items (as well as the broken ones) to Linda Rust and Cheryl Kimble, our move coordinators at Altair Global, who immediately forwarded this information to Zofia Kaczewska, Information Technology Administrator at New World Van Lines. Our claims were then forwarded to New World Van Lines' insurance company, UNIRISC, Inc. UNIRISC scheduled to have an appraiser/inspector from Trilco Claims & Antiques, Inc. to come to our home to confirm the damages and missing items. The appraiser from Trilco mentioned that he would try to replicate the custom-cut glass table tops. However, after realizing that their equipment was not adequate to replicate such a unique cut, they determined that it would be best to put in claim and simply re-buy the tables from the manufacturer. At this time, he confiscated the table legs because he was under the impression that UNIRISC would allow us to purchase all new tables (given that they lost a major component to the two tables).

Ultimately, UNIRISC reimbursed us for all the broken items but rejected our claims for the missing items. We initiated a dispute with Christopher Drexler, Assistant Vice President-Claims. Weeks passed and we had not received any status updates about the tables. We sent several emails and both my husband and I called on several occasions. Mr. Drexler never returned our calls. Instead, he sent an email weeks later stating that New World Van Lines would not be liable for our missing tables. So as of now, we are missing our table legs and our glass tabletops. The tables combined were valued at $1200.

Both companies, New World Van Lines and UNIRISC have engaged in poor business practices. For anyone considering working with them for your relocation needs, we beg you to reconsider. .

  6. My first and worst move experience.

The movers arrived around 10am. There were 3 guys and all of them were arguing throughout the whole move. I had carpet in my apartment and they only layed down this plastic protection from the door to the living room, that's it. They did not put the rest of the plastic stuff throughout my apartment and the carpet was extremely dirty by the end of the day. It took me all night to vacuum it with me and my wife. The move was scheduled for 2 days but the movers decided to pack up everything, leaving me to spend my own money on a hotel. The same movers moved me in and a lot of my things were broken and missing. The screws to bed were missing, the screws to the dresser mirror bracket was missing, and a couple of my wine glasses were broken.

Packing: They just threw everything on a box. One of the movers packed up my computer room and he decided to throw my computer with power cord unattached, and when it got into my new places the power cord was broken. So I had to go buy another cord for my computer. One of the boxes labeled "Laundry room" had towels in it and one of the movers decided to put my downey bottle inside and it spilled all over the box.

Wrapping: They wrapped everything and shrink wrapped my couch. It was raining the day of the move. And when my couch got into my new place, it smelled! I told the driver that I didn't want it because it got wet in the rain and he said he couldn't take anything back.

The whole move was just a bad experience. The driver was reserved but his two helpers were very toxic. I couldn't wait for them to get out.

  7. Extremely dissapointed.

I would happily rate New World Van Lines a zero if possible. NWVL was contracted for our move in February 2014 to pack, ship, and unpack. The whole process seemed to go smoothly until our delivery date. The delivering drivers rushed a two day delivery into one, and took it upon themselves to start checking off boxes which is a responsibilty of the customer to prove it was truly delivered. Several items were broken, including a tv, several pictures, and furniture, and two boxes were missing from the shipment. Also, gowns and dresses were packed in the same boxes as loose aquarium equipment which ruined several items including a wedding dress! The drivers simply said to sign off, leave a note and make a claim. We made a claim 30 days later in order to better know what was missing from our possessions. The claims adjustors decided that since the boxes were missing, that there is no proof we did not recieve them! NWVL has decided that they will not take any responsibility for losing our items. Additionally, they have also decided that they will not cover all of our goods damaged by their employees. I am extremely disappointed with the professionalism of this company and would highly recommend choosing a different mover. M. Hettich.
