Poor Moving Experience.

I arranged with North American, which was based out of Fort Lauderdale, FL, to move a two bedroom apartment plus a 5 x 10 storage locker from Nashville, TN, to the Kansas City area on July 15, 2017. They subcontracted the job without prior notice to us to Midwest Moving and Storage. Because my wife was disabled, the move was to include packing and unpacking. The movers started at 3:00 P.M. and finished loading at 12 midnight. They packed everything, except the furniture, in 150 unlabeled boxes. At the destination, they unloaded the 150 boxes into our one car garage. They unloaded the furniture into the rooms we designated but refused to reassemble any of the furniture they took apart, and they refused to unpack any of the boxes. They improperly packed our flat screen TV, so it was destroyed. Most other items arrived intact. We had to hire local labor to put the furniture together and unpack the boxes for an additional charge of $1066. The total moving charge from North American was approximately $11,000, which was much higher than their estimate. They offered to give us a goodwill gesture of $300 if we would sign a contract that included a gag provision that would forbid us from reviewing their services. We declined that offer.

Damage.

While we experienced some difficulties the organization was excellent. Brad was very helpful and complete with his instructions, plus follow up calls.
Butch, who was our driver, experienced a worker who was no use him when we went to unload ALL by HIMSELF. This caused some damage, that we are submitting a form for credit. Butch also had a flat tire and was VERY LATE for our unloading scheduled time.
If we receive all our credits due (we are submitting a form) and cash we will be pleased to recommend your company. We chose your C0. from another person. The original cost was high compared to our estimated cost of around $3100, because our load was much lighter.
