  1. CRIMINALS!! DO NOT USE!! THEY WILL STEAL EVERYTHING YOU OWN!!!

CRIMINALS!! DO NOT USE!! THEY WILL STEAL EVERYTHING YOU OWN!!!

They made us sign a binding contract and wouldn't allow us to have a copy. The online contract was a link and they disabled it. The movers weren't allowed to give us a copy of the itemized paperwork once the truck was loaded. Now they've stolen everything we own and have disabled their email and blocked our numbers. Ean Gary Manning is a criminal and has been doing this to people for years under several business names: Apex Movers, Chaney Bros Worldwide, and now Norton America Van Lines, just to name a few. Everytime the cases against him pile up he changes his name. He is currently facing charges for grand theft auto but is apparently allowed to get away with stealing entire homes full of furniture, clothes AND KEEPSAKES!!! And he will keep on doing it because he knows no one will help you once you become his victim! We are pressing charges along with a handful of other families he has recently victimized, but the things he took from us can never be replaced. Years of keepsakes and memories, baby pictures, momentos from deceased relatives, things that mean nothing to him and he will only throw away, but that meant everything to us....how does he sleep at night??? DO NOT HIRE THEM! THEY WILL STEAL EVERYTHING YOU OWN!!!

  2. Unprofessional, unethical and fraud- BUYERS BEWARE!!!

Where to begin on this. Moved from Maryland to Florida in July with house hold goods to go into their storage facility in FL for 40 days to deliver to my home on Aug 31. Jon Baresi gave every assurance to get the sale to the unprofessional movers that showed up 12 hrs late and with two men to move a entire 5 bedroom houseful of goods, that were moved into unknown storage by a company I did not contract with (Cheney Brothers). I have tried calling for the last few days and the mailbox is full with no answer at the main number listed.

The movers took three days (arrived Sat night at 10 pm to Mon am) and I had paid for full pack white glove service. I had to hire someone to help and had my entire family help pack boxes given the insufficient support. I paid $1800 for that full pack service and they had the audacity to upcharge me, even though no additional materials of boxes used, $4400 for this service. The two movers asked if they can start packing at night when they arrived but ended up falling asleep in a bedroom closet- super uncomfortable. Hired day laborers that were clearly not the professional packing or moving crew I was told would be there. Before the end of the shift, they were complaining of not getting paid and then when paid an hour later, they were shorted what they were told they would get for the job. None wanted to show up Mon after that experience so had only 2 guys Mon to finish the job even though was promised 4-6 workers would be coming. How do you go from 1800 to $4400 for packing service when myself, my family and my hired help stacked things remaining and packed all the contents that the crew left unpacked, unwrapped? Oh yes, that crew left without giving me an inventory list on Mon, without saying they were leaving and I was told a second truck would be coming for the remaining items in my garage since could not fit. I sent pictures of all that remained and was assured that a discount would be applied for all the inconveniences and yet was sent an invoice taking the initial binding and doubling it. Unconscionable.

My initial binding estimate was just over 10k and again for the record, the truck and driver left my home on Mon without notification or providing paperwork or my copy of inventory list (I only received this after I requested several times 2 weeks ago, a pdf and I never was walked through it on location or after that to ensure where stickers started and stopped). This is theft and Gary and then Shai called me not to apologize but to inform that I would have to pay thousands for a second truck- a second truck that NEVER SHOWED UP, either Monday or Tuesday even though was promised it would be there between 9-12 on Tue am guaranteed. I was told by Gary, Shai and Sergio to wait and will work the credits after. The sales person, Jon Baresi stated repeatedly on a recoded line and over texts to me that it is a binding estimate and if it takes two trucks to move it that’s on you and for me not to worry and to 'stop nagging him' I have all the texts to prove this. So after guarantees that it’s on its way and Shai guaranteeing that her nephew was on his way from New York in a second truck that would arrive between 9-12 on Tue, no truck came on Mon or Tue leaving me no choice late aftn but to get a truck to move remaining contents at my own expense. No proof of a truck, no ETA of how far they were at any point.

Now their main number is not receiving calls and mailbox is full for last few days and no response to emails and texts to every number I had for an attempt to reconcile. All I received was a call saying to pay an additional 15K if I don't want my stuff auctioned off in 7 days and was sent threatening texts regarding the same. Norton was argumentative, and this other company Cheney Brothers badgering and most unprofessional saying I also owe another 1100 in storage for a few more days even though agreement was for 40 days total of storage. No acknowledgement of the mistakes on their end and attempt to discuss a reasonable payment based on original binding estimate and the several examples of what did not go according to plan. Also, the foreman for the job said this company is crooked, even stiffed him for what he was supposed to be paid.

I asked for a picture of my contents and where they are stored, as I’ve been personally threatened via text and harassed by a company I never contracted with that my things will be auctioned (Cheney Brothers).

Pick your phone and do the right thing by sticking to the original binding estimate and not holding my items hostage and asking for a ridiculous ransom!

If anyone wants to discuss their situation and pursue options together, email me at glady.singh@gmail.com.

  3. Dishonest and Fraudulent

BUYER BEWARE! This company currently has all our of furniture being held hostage. They picked up our furniture on 7/16/2021 with the first delivery date on 7/19/2021. It is now 25 business days (32 days total) after the first available delivery date and the company has refused to provide any update on the location or estimated delivery date. When they do pick up the phone, it is a customer service representative (Lorraine) who does not provide any information - she says that one of the other employees (Sergio or Gary) will call back, but they never do. I have filed complaints with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), filed complaints with the state attorneys general in Florida and North Carolina, and have sent several delivery demand letters and emails, including one forthcoming from an attorney. None of these steps has helped to find out any more information about my belongings. Next week (at 30 business days), I will file police reports for stolen property in both Florida and North Carolina since the company has shown no good faith steps toward delivering my belongings. I have all of my furniture, clothes, and belongings that were picked up and may be gone forever. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - they are dishonest, deceitful and should not be allowed to operate.

  4. Avoid at all cost!!!! Worst company ever

I would not let this company move a thing. My mom was going to move from Florida back to Virginia. She called a month ago and set up everything. They said they would call her back to confirm everything one week out. She did not hear a word from them. She started calling the company a few days before the move and not one returned phone call. She left messages on multiple occasions. They stated that they would pack and move everything for her. She had a bunch of questions about this. Since she got no call back, none of her questions could be answered. she was told when she signed the contract that the movers would handle everything. Finally on the day of the move, she gets ahold of someone. They state “we have no move for you today.” She then gives the confirmation number and they can now find her in the system and will call her back. They call back and said we will have the movers there today between 1 pm and 6 pm. We are now waiting and at 3:55 pm she receives a call that the truck is 2 to 3 hours out and would be there as soon as the could. At 7:15 I call to see where they were and the driver begins to yell at me that he said “3 to 4 hours not 2 to 3 “but my mom had him on speaker and I heard him say 2 to 3 hours at 3:55. So he said he was still 45 mins away at 7:15. Then at 8:02 pm the driver calls again and then stated he was still 30 mins away. So at 8:33 she gets a call that they were at the gate and needed to be let in. So I drive to the gate and I see a 26 foot u- haul truck, not a commercial truck. It’s at this point my sixth senses goes off. This is a scam. I show the truck to my moms place and the driver gets out and ask to see how much stuff she had. She shows him the stuff and he immediately says this is more stuff then the contact is written for. Now mind you she told them everything and wanted to receive a phone call to go over everything one week out. All she got was voicemail and no return calls. The driver stated they do not box stuff up but my mom had asked when she called and was told they do box things up for you. My mom had boxed up some of her things before hand. What she could box up. The driver told her he didn’t like the way she had boxed up what she could. He stated “she had to rebox everything that she had already boxed up.”The driver then stated that the amount on the contract was 260sq feet of furniture and he estimated it to be 600sq feet and needed an additional 2600$. We asked him to leave because that’s not what she was told over the phone when she set up the contract. Luckily we were able to stop the complete scam before they loaded up her stuff. She said I will just get a refund of my deposit and the driver said in a very rude manner “no you will not get and deposit refund”. This is when I had to escort him off my moms property. Avoid this company at all cost.

  5. Avoid at all cost! Move from NC to FL

These people are crooks! "Extortion and fraud" should be their name. Victimized my 80 year old parents, would not communicate about delivery and many items were damaged! Would not unload truck without a cash payment double the original estimate and a Zelle deposit directly to Shai's Williams personal account! I am reporting them to FMCSA!

Also, their DOT number belongs to "Apex moving company" not Norton American Van Lines !?!?! Red flags all over!

  6. No contact, furniture missing

Initially supposed to show up between 4p and 9p for pickup. Didn't show up until 12:15AM! Then kept asking for more money. Finally left at 4am. Said delivery would be 2 days later on Tuesday. Now it's thursday, and they won't respond and have no idea where furniture is located. Not sure what to do. Shai simply won't call back and is unreachable. Avoid at ALL costs.

  7. No contact once they get your money

Set up a move from Raleigh to Atlanta. Once they had our money they literally stopped responding to attempts to contact them. No show on the date they were scheduled. Save yourself the headache and financial loss.

  8. Worst experience I have ever had!

If I could choose 0 Stars I would. Arranged move with Jon. Jon, you really let me down. Paid deposit and scheduled move. After 2 no shows which took a lot of time, effort, and calls to coordinate with the facility where our stuff was stored, and with Norton. My stuff still needs to be moved and now I have another months storage fee. I also do not have my stuff. Shay called me to apologize profusely, and promised if I gave her another chance she would personally see to it that our stuff was picked up. She contacted the facility directly to schedule and arrange pickup. Not only did they not show again, but I was not able to get any answers from anyone as to why, where they were, or when I will get my refund. I understand things happen, and I was willing to give them a break after the first no show. All I hear is crickets while I wait for Sergio or the owner to contact me with an explanation and a refund. I would not use Norton American van lines. Find someone that actually delivers on their promise.

  9. Great Customer Service

Norton America Van Lines LLC is a moving broker that practice attentive customer service. The manager called me directly when I had issues and gave me his cell in case of emergency. Finally, when I decided not to move due to other logistical issues they were understanding and gave me a full refund of my deposit. They also were willing to assist me in the future.
